Accalia was expecting Erik, who was a white wolf and clan leader, to come stay at their castle for a week to see if they were compatible as wolf mates. But, instead, he takes her right to his castle. Even more surprising, she learns he has three sons who are a bit unruly. She's not sure how it'll work out, but the only other option is a gray wolf clan chief who's interested in her, but only for the alliance it would bring, and she's really not interested in him. At first Erik acts as if she must prove herself to him, but as he watches her with his sons and with his people, he realizes he must prove himself to her. Trouble soon comes when the gray wolf gets aggressive and tries to take Accalia by force.
I absolutely love Terry Spear's books, and this one was no exception. This is the second book in a new series which is historical, and it was an excellent read. The book's well-written with well-rounded characters and a fast-paced plot. I was drawn into this enchanting tale and kept hooked from beginning to end. Full of intrigue, romance, and suspense, this story also had a paranormal twist. Terry's a pro at taking the real world and adding the paranormal, blending it in such a way that you're sure shifters exist! I really enjoyed this book along with the first one so I'm hoping this series continues. I highly recommend both books in this series.

Tons of action and fun!
Accolia is waiting with her father to meet the man who wants to mate with her and ally with her father. But clan chief Erik has other plans and steals her away to his castle. There she needs to tame his three unruly sons and bring the clan chief to his knees! Now Erik needs and wants to win her affection, not the other way around! However, there is a bad guy who wants to take over Accolia's father's clan, and he is willing to steal or keep kill to do this! Can Accolia and Erik keep both clans safe? Read this to see.
The pace is engrossing and the tone is hopeful with a character and action oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and engaging. This is book 2 of the prequels to the Heart of the Wolf series that has MANY subseries. Enjoy this medieval wolf shifter romance with super characters, especially the boys, and tons of action and fun!
