In this story based on the Curious George TV show, George learns about skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing in this book about a snow.
George is surprised to wake up and find snow outside! But it's hard for a little monkey to walk in such deep snow. Thankfully, his friends teach him all about snow and the different ways to play in it, and he uses his new skills to rescue a farmer’s stranded pig! The animated series Curious George is available to watch on Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming platform.
ok wow this book was not good. Like the pig was so random and like where did it even come from omg. The only reason this is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because it introduces kids to different methods of traveling on snow.
A fun book about Curious George’s snow day with friends. It’s a more modern version that has a TV episode based on it. Elliot loves Curious George and we just saw snow in Colorado this month, so it was a fun read.
I know this wasn’t written by Rey but not liking the new drawings of George. Even the story doesn’t seem true to George’s typical antics. I do agree that it’s a good book to teach something about snow especially for children to read who live in southern Florida and may not have ever seen snow.
Again- I am not terribly impressed by the stories about George that have been adapted from the TV show. The show is great and the originals by H.A. Rey are fantastic. These books are watered down and nowhere near as much fun. The basic premise stands intact (learning about moving on snow), but the full exploration of the topic gets lost. My son loves them, though, so I soldier on.
This is a 'newer' Curious George book but still the loveable George we grew up with. George explores apparently what is his first experience with snow. They are at their country home and it snowed overnight. George goes out in it; he doesn't know how to walk in it. But soon he starts learning what skis, snowshoes and a sled are and what they are used for. This was a fun book without George getting into a ton of 'bad stuff'...
Curious George spends a fun day in the snow learning to ski and ride a sled. On the way, he helps a pig by rescuing it with the new techniques he just learned. Good book to read about snowy, winter weather. Children could use this book for sequencing the events. Also, you can ask students what they would do if it were snowing outside.
i find this book interesting because of the simplicity of the story and the kind of illustration used to tell the story. It will be good to read this story to children during winter. Could also be used in teaching children sequencing of events. It is a book that when read to children will send them into the world of exploration.
Curious George gets farther and farther away from home while out playing in the snow. He finds the farmer's lost pig and gets his hot chocolate at the end of the day.
A cute typical Curious George story. George explores snow in this book and all of the items that go along with snow. The story includes activities in the back like how to make a paper snowflake.
