A sweet, uplifting small-town holiday romance that celebrates the bonds between family and the magic of the season. Settle in by the light of the Christmas tree and get swept away to this charming mountain town!
All her life, Caroline Stoker has been the sensible one. She dresses sensibly, acts sensibly, and she’s certainly never believed in fairy tales. Unlike her two younger sisters, who left Evergreen Hollow to spread their wings and explore new places, Caroline has spent her entire life in the small mountain town.
She’s happy with her life and content with her choices… or so she thinks, until one holiday season, her world gets shaken up like a snow globe.
It starts with a small accidental fire at the Mistletoe Inn, and her introduction to the town’s newest Rhett Dawkins.
He’s a single father who came to Evergreen Hollow in search of a slower pace for him and his son. She and Rhett have nothing in common—or at least, that’s what she tells herself. But when the handsome firefighter sweeps her off her feet like a real life Prince Charming, Caroline starts to wonder if maybe she was wrong.
Maybe fairy tales do exist, if you’re brave enough to let yourself believe in them.
Meanwhile, Nora and Aiden are excited to celebrate their first Christmas as a newly married couple, and Nora is busy decorating their house for a huge holiday party. But when a key centerpiece of her decorations is back-ordered, she’s forced to improvise.
I have enjoyed the series so far but must admit I get tired of the author continuously using phrases such as “biting her lip, heat rushing to her cheeks, hearts fluttering, etc.”
The constant repetitions make reading tedious. We all get that romance is building with these characters and it seems amateurish to not find a more nuanced way of describing things.
Gret series - love these books and the wonderful stories!

This is the perfect book to set by a warm cozy fire and get swept away to Evergreen Hollow, were you feel like family and a place you put down roots. Single dad Rhett and his young son arrive just after Thanksgiving and find themselves liking the slower pace and friendly community. Caroline has been a Sensible and reliable person and no time for taking off or finding Mr right but now she's making time here and there for herself and maybe its the perfect time for a magical fairy tale. A beautiful must story. Enjoy
The oldest and "sensible" Stoker sister, Caroline has devoted her life to the family inn and is feeling lonely in her personal life. Firefighter Rhett and his son move to Evergreen Hollow to lead a safe and quiet life. The storyline involving a misplaced journal is so beautiful. This is such a heartwarming series, like most of Fiona Baker's work. The connection between the two lost souls is so charming. I really loved this book.
3.5⭐️. I really enjoyed it but it did feel a little rushed. I felt like they took a bit to get together and then boom everything happened all at once. Overall though it was such a fun and cozy read. I love how the authors writing makes you truly feel like you’ve been to Evergreen Hallow. I also how we still got a glimpse of Nora and Aiden from book 1.
I did not have a good feel for the person who is Caroline from book one so this book was an nice reveal. As the oldest, she dedicated herself to helping the folks with the inn as a dutiful daughter. After meeting the newest fireman in her pajamas due to a fire alarm goes off, Caroline is worried about what he thinks if her. See how it ends! Nice read
I only gave this book three stars because I found the heroine kind of hard to like. She was very down on herself throughout the story, relating often how she didn't deserve happiness. The author also tends to go a little overboard describing things like food and clothing. I did like the hero and his son, though.
Such a pleasurable and fun book to read. It was like reading another version of Cinderella, except Caroline’s sister, Nora, was a loving sister, unlike Cinderella’s. I wish I could visit Evergreen Hollow and the Inn, and maybe run into this awesome family!
Another beautiful, romantic story! But it’s April and it makes me yearn for Christmas. If the next book is a Christmas story, I am putting up my tree a little early! Great story.
I could not put this one down. Luckily, I had the time to read it in a few hours. I could picture uptight rule follower Caroline and Rhett the handsome firefighter meeting for the first time. I was anxious to see how Rhett would reach through to Caroline. This book did not disappoint.
