Until the Last Dog

What a well-written and entertaining read and look into the life of mushers! I stayed up long past midnight because I couldn’t put the book down.

Sled dog racer and his family tales (tails? )

I love dogs and it is immediately apparent that the author does too. I have had the privilege to visit a large scale dog racing outfit in Alaska and it is a fascinating sport. This author, as a writer, is a darn good dog man. That is to say, his natural forte isn't really writing. That being said, it is a good book primarily because of it's true authenticity. You will learn lot reading his family's story.

Anyone who has the misguided idea that sled dogs are made to run/race should read this book. As I was once told, the worst thing you can do to a sled dog is to pull out with the team hitched up and leave him behind in the dog lot. They live to run and are treated like the treasures they are.
