A Christmas to Remember

Rate this book
A sweet, uplifting small-town holiday romance that celebrates the bonds between family and the magic of the season. Settle in by the light of the Christmas tree and get swept away to this charming mountain town!

When the magazine that Margo Stoker works for downsizes and lays her off, it knocks her for a loop. She left her small hometown years ago, eager to explore the world and make a name for herself. But without a job to keep her busy, she decides to visit Evergreen Hollow for the first time in years—just in time for the holidays.

She figures she’ll pop into town, catch up briefly with her parents and her two sisters, and then be on her way… but those plans go out the window when a skiing accident leads to a broken leg, stranding her there for much longer than she anticipated.

Dr. Spencer Thorpe recently took over his father’s medical practice in Evergreen Hollow, and he loves the tight-knit community and the slower pace of life there. Still, when a beautiful and vivacious out-of-towner shows up at his office with a skiing injury, he’s drawn to her right away.

There’s no way that Margo can let herself fall for Spencer—not when she plans to leave town as soon as possible. But as walks in the snow turn to romantic sleigh rides and kisses under the mistletoe, she starts to realize that no matter where she goes… she’ll leave her heart in Evergreen Hollow.

But can she truly stay in the rustic little town forever? Especially when she had a good reason for leaving in the first place?

I give this a 3.5.
Take this with a grain of salt as I had no idea this was a series and I didn’t read the other two books.
The story was decent- but not overly gripping. Perhaps the characters would have been more lively to me if I had read the previous stories to understand more about them.

The issue I had was with the typos. For example, one of the characters is named Aiden. It’s spelled like this the majority of the time, but there was at least once instance where it was spelled Aidan, and I thought maybe there were two characters with the same name. When I notice these things I can’t stop focusing on them.

Also, one story line dealt with the family Inn being in disrepair and needing financial support, which was secured through a Christmas fundraiser. This was the vehicle which the sisters came together (in my opinion), after being semi-estranged, but only four sentences dealt with the outcome of the fundraiser.

It’s a quick read and moderately entertaining.
I will check out the other books in this series.

When world traveler, writer and photographer Margo Stoker is laid off from her job, she decides to go home to Evergreen Hollow to regroup and think about her future. She stays at her family's Mistletoe Inn. Not having been home for years, she must acclimate to the small town and spend more time with her family, including her two married sisters. Her life changes when she meets handsome, charming and interesting Dr. Spencer Thorpe. This is really such a beautiful love story and Spencer is a true romantic. Margo has to face her past and decide if she has a future here. Her road to happiness is a complicated one. I loved this story.

A Christmas to Remember… (Evergreen Hollow Christmas Book 3)…

I’ve just completed the third book in the Evergreen Hollow series. I’ve enjoyed how the theme is developed throughout the series; how the family and each sister is evolving and changing and how the story is culminating thus far. The only thing that stands out to me as questionable is how much thought Nora puts into the fears she has regarding her unborn child’s future choices as she approaches adulthood. It just feels kind of off to me because it’s so far into the future of the unborn baby’s life! Other than that, it’s an interesting and inspiring read!

Good round up

Of these sisters... with a sweet predictable story. I was happy woth the ending... But it bothered me that Margo was completely disregarded in the first two books [couldn't they at least MENTION her when they gathered for Christmas?] And the parents -- very few people I know refer to their parents with their first names... and dad was virtually non- existent... but a good story of sisterhood...

wonderful and heartwarming

This story is for the die-hard romance fan. The Stoker sisters each finding love and acceptance in Evergreen Hollow during this book series is a great escape read. There is enough of a plot in each book to keep the reader interested as well. Getting to know the characters and seeing their lives fulfilled is a winner.

Talented Author

Even though, I just finished book 3, the way Fiona continues to write another story about Evergreen Hollow is still part of the town.
She is able to create a wonderful story about another character and have them blend in seamlessly.
The ending are set differently for each character.
Ready for the next episode!

slowing down is not for everyone

World traveling journalist Margo Stoker hit slammed with a one two punch that stopped her life as she knew it and she was pissed! Lose a job, break a leg and be stuck in no where land had Margo unsettled to say the least. Her sister Nora managed to slow down maybe she could too. A little romance does a lot to change Margo or not! Good read.

3.5* The books in this series are fun, quick reads with little annoyances that are easy to pick up on when you're reading a book a day between Christmas and New Year's Day 😆 (like the female characters biting their lips all the time and their China plates erroneously being capitalized). They're simple, light, and entertaining, though.

A quick read

Fiona Baker is one of my favorite authors but book 3 is not my favorite…predictable plot, almost boring to read, reader can predict the events happening. Almost seemed that Ms Baker got bored writing it.

I loved the sleigh and the horses! I've driven wagons, even a six up stagecoach but have never lived where you could use one! Great storyline!
