Shoe 'Nuff was another enjoyable addition to the Search and Rescue Cozy Mysteries series following Eve as she helps solve the murder of Aidan's new landlord.
Eve Foster is happy to help her friend Aidan move into his new apartment but after a day of lugging boxes up the stairs, she's ready to relax. While the two wait for their pizza delivery, Aidan goes to look for his new landlord in the antique store downstairs only to find the man's dead body. When someone tries to break into Aidan's apartment shortly after, Eve gets swept up in the investigation as she tries to find the killer before Aidan gets hurt.
The premise of this one sounded interesting and I was looking forward to seeing the mystery play out. The book opens with Eve, Aidan, and a few others helping Aidan move into his new place. Aidan mentions that his landlord was supposed to stop by but he hadn't heard from him which is what leads to him and Eve later going into the store to find the man. We do have a suspect pretty much straight away but the person can't be located which throws a wrench in things. It was interesting having Eve and her dog brought in to try and track the suspect as that's something new in the series. So ultimately the killer's identity wasn't a surprise but I still found the ending to be a good one as there were a few unexpected things.
The characters in this series are fantastic and they get better with each book. Eve is a great main character and I've been enjoying her growth as a character in each book. She has good instincts and she's getting better as an investigator as the series goes on. With the plot in this book centering on Aidan, he gets a little more page time than previous books. The minor flirtation between him and Eve has continued and I'm looking forward to seeing their romance develop more. Willow, Eve's search dog, gets a few moments at center stage as she helps track the suspect which was a fun scene.
Overall Shoe 'Nuff was an entertaining read and I'm looking forward to picking up the next book in the series, Kiss Kringle, soon.

Moving day!
After living with Alice since moving to Granite, Aidan finally moves into his own place, with help from Eve and their friends. Little does Aidan know, his new apartment holds a secret. Will this secret have a connection to the latest mysterious death in the town?
The pace at which Patti Benning kept building the intrigue with this story held my attention throughout. I have read the previous books in this series, (this may seem weird), the connections I have made as a reader, it’s like revisiting with friends.
I quite liked the parallel drawn between a certain scene in Eve and Aidan’s story and that of a classic fairytale. Made me giggle!
Another fantastic performance from Julie McKay. The ease at which Julie gives life to all the characters created by Patti Benning is seamless. The transitions between male and female voices is top tier.
Thank you Patti for another enjoyable story in this series, I look forward to book eight. Thank you to Blue Nose Audio for this entertaining advanced listener copy.

Shoe ’Nuff is yet another reminder of why Patti Benning’s Search & Rescue series is such a comfort read for me.
This time around, Eve is simply trying to help her “friend” Aidan move into a new apartment. Easy, right? Excep low and behold, the apartment sits above an antique store, and the landlord downstairs turns up very dead. Because of course they do. Eve truly cannot go anywhere without stumbling into a crime scene.
What I love about Patti’s writing is how she always keeps me guessing. Just when I think I’ve got the murderer figured out, she drops another clue, another motive, another sideways glance that makes me question everything. The mystery unfolds at just the right pace, with enough twists to stay engaging without ever feeling heavy or stressful. These books are perfectly plotted “snack reads”...satisfying, cozy, and complete.
A huge shoutout to Julie McKay, who continues to absolutely shine in this series. Her narration is flawless. The pacing is spot on, the tone perfect, and her ability to give so many characters distinct, recognizable voices is next to none. She makes it effortless to stay immersed in the story, and I never once had to question who was speaking.
If you love cozy mysteries that keep you guessing without losing their warmth, Shoe ’Nuff is a delightful addition to the series and a reminder of why Patti Benning does this genre so well.

Shoe 'Nuff by Patti Benning!!
Books 7 in the Search & Rescue Cozy Mysteries series. Performed in solo narration by Julie McKay
This stories continue to be so entertaining and great!! In this one Eve and friends help Aiden move into his new apartment. In looking for Aiden’s landlord, who also runs the antique store below the apartment, they make a gruesome discovery. Who did it? Is it the scraggly looking ex tenant fresh out of jail? The greedy ex wife or the disgruntled customer. Read this engaging mystery to find out.
Julie McKay did an excellent job voicing this one in dual narration. Her transitions from male to female voices and between all the characters is seamless and distinct. There’s a reason her fans call her the queen! 5/5 I really liked this one. Enjoy!

It wasn’t that hard to guess whodunit but the how was very interesting! Willow got to be a search dog finding the perp using some evidence they left, so she was partly responsible for finding the perp in the showdown. Who’s a good girl, Willow? From the friends talking at the end of the book, I’m hoping the next book’s set at a workplace party Aidan was talking about. I bet I know who won’t wanna come. 😉

Another strong book in the series
Aiden has finally found an apartment of his own to rent so he can move out of his sister’s place. Eve and her friends help him move in but before he is even finished moving in he finds his landlord murdered in the antique store down stairs. The mystery deepens and after multiple twists nd turns it ends up with a surprise ending. A fun read.

I’m always anxious for the next installment of a series and disappointed when the book ends. There’s nothing quite like settling in with a good book and losing yourself in the characters lives. The mystery as always is well plotted with enough clues to set the reader on the right track but enough small twists to make solving the crime enjoyable. This book definitely does that.

Another Great Book!
"Shoe Nuff" is Book 7 of Patti Benning's Search and Rescue Cozy Mystery series. In this episode, Eve and her Search and Rescue dog, Willow, solve the case of a murdered antique store dealer, who also happens to be Aidan's new apartment landlord. I gave this book 5 stars.

This series is just delightful. But the dogs are good too!
Chances are the doggies are going to find the bad guy. But this time where the shoe scent lead to... Well that was unexpected.

This was an ALC .
Eve helped a friend move into a new apartment, and things happen. All at once the wife of the landlord doesn’t know, and something happens to the landlord and he’s an antique shop dealer, so it all and wine is very quickly.

this book was kind of corny
The plot was a bit corny but it was a short read and not so involving. Maybe a younger teen who hadn’t read many novels might like it better.

Another fantastic cozy mystery from Patti Benning. This time, we see Aidan and Eve's relationship dance closer and closer to dating as Eve help him move into his new apartment. Discovering Aidan's new landlord is dead, our favorite female dog Willow helps track down the murderer. The teasing chemistry between Aidan and Eve keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as the story progresses. Julie McKay is a delight as the narrator, truly giving depth and emotion with each chapter.

I love these short, cozy mysteries!
Another fun cozy mystery with search dogs! I enjoy this series, they’re each short mysteries, a palette cleanser between darker mysteries and I’ve become attached to the characters.
