These past 6 books have been hilarious, entertaining, and addictive. I can’t stop and won’t stop reading theses books!! I’m definitely waiting for the next
Full of humor and action. The interesting expansion of their world and character creation is fun, clever and imaginative! And with Anthony headlining this remains such a cool series! For the colony!
Ohhhh man soooooooo good! I wish that the audiobook had been available at time release because I simply adore Jeff Hays and Soundbooth Theater, but more words even if only on e-paper are too good to wait for! When I need to kno... no when I just hafta know what happens next! To know what mischief Anthony in his diamond shiny Carapace and pets are up to. Well killing monsters and leveling up... nach, but what else you might ask? Well how 'bout scheming to go deeper into the dungeon the third tier inorder to gain more territory for his burgeoning family.
The book Chrysalis: Antvance Into the Unknown is the sixth book in the series and overall I would give it a 10 out of 10 stars. This book is about a former human who becomes an ant, developing alongside his family. He ends up fighting demons lower in the dungeon. The characters in the book have personalities that change for most if not all of the characters. The commentary from the main character is a perfect mix of solemn and humorous. Sadly this book has some language that makes it not viable for younger children. The book evokes many emotions at different points.
As the sixth book I learned many things about the plot the first time I read it. Because of the epigraphs at the beginning of most chapters. When I read it a second time I read it all of the story connected better because I didn’t feel rushed to learn what happened at the end. There were chapters that were spread out with different chapters of a story that I was able to flip back to and read them all chronographically. This allowed me to understand the things that were said with more context.
This book felt mostly like an intermission between one story arc and another. Maybe the first 75% was foundational stuff just happening. The last 25% starts the true action of the new story arc in the third stratum of the dungeon.
The italicized entries at the start of some chapters have become more entertaining. Less about the history of the world (cheeky worldbuilding tactic), and more about what's going on in the Ant Empire, histories written from the future, beyond the current timeline. Really been enjoying those.
I really love these books. Antony is back at it in another Antventure. This time he's descending into the third tier with his pets. He levels them up to tier VI first and they become a significant force on tier III, where the highest-level monsters are Tier VII and don't have the skills or intelligent builds that Antony and his pets have. The colony makes their way there too to secure new territory. For the colony!
This one had very many enjoyable points but lacked an overall feeling that colony is at risk. Sort of turn from defense to offense, making it harder to root for them. I loved the two new characters. I might even say one was Brilliant. This parallels his necro books as well.
For some reason I'm not sure I'm so excited to be going down versus going wide. The whole Mana Sickness thing is narrowing the story scope in my opinion.
A lot is going in with Anthiny and the colony. Everyone has to start leveling up, especially if they are going to start fighting monsters who are born with better stats than at their current levels. so this felt a bit like a filler, but it was still super enjoyable. I love the new sister and can wait to see what brilliance she brings to the colony. Im also curious to see what path Muriellia decides to take.
The Ant life struggle is real. While I read this book the hard knocks song goes through my head. This story of a young man who loved his ant colony getting reincarnated as a dungeon monster ant was absolutely fascinating. This book ends as his colony is beginning to conquer the demon level of the dungeon.
As the wave churns on the ants prepare for war. They aren't real sure where the war will q, or with who, the civilized people, the demons, the shadow/death creatures, but one thing is sure they will work themselves to the (external) bones to come out on top. Probably the best monster as hero series I've read. Looking forward to the next. Tom out
Better than the previous one I'd say, the story pushes a bit forward but the author will become an ancient himself before Anthony at this pace. So I'm guessing something will rock the world or something.
I personally enjoy the humans perspectives and interactions so it's sad we're already starting to see less of them. The journals were top notch for me tho'.
Anthony goes deeper in the dungeon. He now faces demons (and the fact that humans and ants are revering him like a god). He gets more powerful. And takes on the task of raising another ant Champion. This one is curious to a fault and wants to know and explore.
Fun continuation of the story. Great pacing. Good humor. Fun story. Awesome narrator! Please enjoy
The beginning has a bit of a pacing problem in that a lot happens that is just not really a challenge or exceptionally interesting. Though anyone who read to this point will probably like it. But the later half really tales off.
Ants are amazing creatures and this story just adds to the legends. Great job following both the MC and side stories which give depth and breadth. Keep up the great work.
Just barely at minimum story quality to pass as readable but at that it does not make for an enjoyable read as a whole. I keep hoping for better only to get disappointed, still haven't dropped it though..
This was a superb read! I really enjoyed the characters and how they interact with one another with a minimum of cringe and plenty of humor. The growth of the main character and company is enticing! This book has done the series proud. Read this!
This just wasn’t all that exciting to me … lots of talking and evolutions but not much else. There was some good action towards the end where they actually invade the demon realm and that is cool but just character growth and jokes.
As always this is really an enjoyable series. Some readers might don't like anthony humour but i really enjoy it. With addition of new crews which are brilliant & Al im looking forward for the next book.
I enjoyed this more than previous book. While still a bit light on the LitRPG elements, we did at least get an update for Anthony and most of the pets at one point. The story continues to be pretty good and I am enjoying it.
Always enjoyed this series, the new books never last longer than a couple days which is saddening. But if you wanna extend the book length then more the merrier!
Like all the entries in this series, there’s an awful lot going on with not a ton of actual progress. It’s still overall fun for me and I enjoy the meandering ride, but probably not for everyone.
