Full Figured Plus Sized Divas 6 by Electa Rome Parks and Eric Pete - 5 Stars
There is nothing like reading about characters that you identify with...in this case it isn't the Black Widow or the Sex Killer it's the fact that these women are plus size and living life like its golden.
Parks takes the lead with the story, Black Widow. Erika Kane is the proud owner of Last Chance hair salon. She is always dressed to impressed and color coordinated from head to toe. She is a philanthropic business woman with strong sexual desires. You see she loves men and has married her fair share...but they all die. As she spends money and keeps her enemies close, the impossible happens...she finds love again. However, all love isn't good or good for you. This new lover just may end her life.
Pete writes about Artemis Clay in the story, Oops! I Did It Again. Artemis isn't lucky in love. In fact, this time is last straw. After the most mind blowing sex ever Carlos took his last breath and days later as Artemis arrived at the funeral she finds out the ultimate betrayal. You see Carlos (the man of the moment) was engaged with kids and had another girlfriend (that happened to be her sister). To make matters worse, the bonus that would solve all of her money problems didn't pan out and she walked out on her job. At a moment of weakness, she decided to spend the last of her savings on a vacation of a lifetime. Las Vegas may not fix all of her life issues but she will party like its 1999 (at least for the next four days).
Parks and Pete are masters of their craft. Their ability to describe situations, locations and action allows the reader to become part of the story. This reader was addicted to these tales yearning to know what would happen next. I definitely recommend this book for those that love fast paced stories with a twist. The fact that the main characters are plus sized added value to the story. High fives to Electa Rome Parks and Eric Pete for a book well written and expertly edited.
This book was not a good read. I kept trying to give it a chance but I just could not get into it. At the end I felt so lost with this book. So much was going on but not enough to put the pieces together to make sense of these story.
The first story in the book had lots of layers and it was hard To keep up the book was good although I wish they would’ve shorten the story. The second story was good and interesting now this one should’ve been longer.
I really dont know where to start with this review, but I must say I'm happy I got through the first story to get to the second...
Black Widow by Electa R. Parks 1 star
The plot seemed very erratic and all over the place. At times when a new chapter began, a totally different character would be speaking and I'd have to read on to catch on to who was being introduced. There was a lack of substances to this story and the bits and pieces of events did not come together smoothly. Very underwhelming plot and the characters were not memorable at all.
Oops I did it again by Eric Pete 3 stars
I must say this story kept my attention. For a good part of the book, there was not much conflict and a lull was felt. I began to warm up to this plot just as it was ending. There were two events that happened that I wish were resolved. It ends on a cliffhanger so I'll have to def check see if this story was ever finished in another book. All in all, Pete's story was the only reason this book got 3 stars.
Have you ever started reading a book and you tried to read as fast as you could so that you could find out what happened? Well, that was me with this book. I enjoyed the book so much! The twist, turns, and drama had a hold on me! In the first story, Black Widow, we are introduced to Erika Kane. She is a strange and intriguing character. So many rumors surround her regarding the deaths of her 3, yes 3 husbands. We all know the old saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" and it's definitely true with Erika. At the end, I was left wanting more and I could definitely see this as a full novel. Kudos to Electa Rome Parks! The second story by Eric Pete was hilarious! This woman reminded me of myself in many ways. I took a trip to Vegas as well, but I did not get a chance to experience it the way that Artemis did. I was laughing and shaking my head at all of the crazy events and situations that she found herself in. This is my first time reading a book by Mr. Pete but it will certainly not be my last. I definitely recommend this book!
I did not know that this was a two part book. I was ready to see Erika Kane get her comeuppance from a relative of one of the husbands that she killed. Fast forward to the trials and tribulations of Artemis. I don't see how she could afford a vacation maxing out on credit cards with job prospects slim. I am trying to understand how the full figured part plays into the novel. Maybe I should have started at 1. I do need to read seven though. I am not really impressed with the writing or the concept.
Oops! I Did It Again, I enjoyed. It seemed like Artemis couldn't catch a break when it came to men. They would end up having a heart attack and dying. When she up and goes to Vegas for a vacation she can barely afford she meets two who find themselves falling for her, each for different reasons. I liked how both Black Widow and this story were similar in the way that their men kept dying for whatever reason. & I'd like to think there is a second part to both stories by the ending of each.
Excellent book interest ing how the characters killed their husbands and couldn't be traced. Then the other character both of her husbands died during sex. Erika pretend ed to be so religious but was living a double life. one of the best books I've read in a long time. Book was so good didn't want to put it down. Great job authors!!!
I gave this book up to 50 pages to convince me to read it. I found myself disgusted by page 29. It seemed like the author just crammed a poorly written story line between equally written messy raunchy sex scenes. It doesn't seem as if the author even cared if the plot flowed or stuttered around out of control characters. I was actually relieved to get to page 50.
I thought this book was just OK and the first story was great and that was the first time I have read anything by Electa Rome Parks and I will say I will read her work again but the second story didn't do anything for me.
