This is the story of a troubled young man, Tucker, and how he became the way he is. There is a young woman, Gabriela, also a product of her childhood, who is determined to stop him as she is convinced that he is harming others. The juxtaposition of Tucker and Gabriela really raises the issue of nature versus nurture.

Both characters are interesting as is the way the story unfolds as Gabriela works to prove that Tucker is dangerous before it is too late. This is a very dark novel but it has a satisfying ending.

Be aware of trigger warnings for this novel.

Thanks to the author for the complimentary cooy. All opinions are my own.

This book is a suspenseful and emotional story about Gabriela, a brave and independent young woman who grew up in the care system. Despite her tough past, Gabriela is strong-willed and determined. One day, she has a short and seemingly harmless meeting with a strange man. But something about him feels wrong. Even though she has no proof, Gabriela’s instincts tell her that this man is dangerous. She becomes obsessed with finding evidence to support her gut feeling.

However, her actions quickly get her into trouble. The police accuse her of stalking, harassment, and even theft. They see her as someone who is mentally unstable and treat her as a nuisance. Instead of helping her, they ignore her claims and try to discourage her from investigating further. Despite the police and society doubting her, Gabriela refuses to give up. She keeps digging for the truth, even though it puts her own safety at risk. As the story unfolds, the suspense grows—will Gabriela be saved in time, or will she end up as another victim of the dangerous man she’s been following?

The author keeps the story fast-paced and full of suspense. The tension builds with every chapter, making readers eager to find out what happens next. The language is easy, emotions of the characters feel real and relatable. The mystery keeps you guessing. Gabriela’s fear feels real, and readers will want to know if her suspicions are right or if she is overreacting. The story also explores deeper topics, such as how society treats people who seem “different” and how difficult it is to fight for justice when no one believes you. It is not just about solving a mystery but also about bravery, survival, and fighting against prejudice. The book will appeal to readers who enjoy suspenseful stories about underdogs who refuse to give up. It’s exciting, emotional, and keeps you hooked until the last page.

After reading Tucker's Fyke by Bruno Beaches, I’ve got to say—it’s one of those rare thrillers that gets under your skin in all the right ways. Forget the blow-by-blow critiques; let’s talk about that gut-level feeling when a book clicks. This one definitely did.

At its heart is Gabriela, whose instincts start screaming the moment she crosses paths with Tucker. It’s not some big, dramatic showdown—it’s quieter, more insidious. That creeping sense of “something’s off” grows page by page, and the real tension comes from how alone Gabriela is in feeling it. Everyone else shrugs her off, and you start to wonder: how often do we do the same? How often do we ignore intuition, especially when it's coming from someone society tends to overlook?

Beaches handles this brilliantly. He doesn’t lecture you on bias or instinct, but those themes simmer quietly beneath the surface. Gabriela’s persistence—driven by both suspicion and something deeply personal—is what keeps you locked in. She’s not just chasing danger; she’s fighting to be heard.

And Tucker? He’s the kind of unsettling that sneaks up on you. No dramatic evil speeches—just quiet, ordinary creepiness that feels way too real. You find yourself constantly questioning him, unsure if Gabriela’s right or if her past is clouding her vision.

This isn’t a breezy weekend thriller. It’s a slow burn, the kind of book that stays with you long after the final page. It digs into what it means to trust yourself when no one else does, and the mental toll of being gaslit by the world around you.
If you’re looking for a smart, psychological thriller that gets into your head and lingers, Tucker's Fyke is it. Trust me—this is one you’ll be telling your friends about.

Thank you to Bruno for the copy of this book for my honest review.

Wow, where to start, there is a lot to unpack in this dark, twisty and suspenseful story. Gabriela is a young woman who grew up in care, because of this she is fiercely independent and determined. She randomly has a meeting with a man called Tucker. Gabriela gets a really bad feeling and starts to keep an eye on Tucker as she feels he is a dangerous man. The obsession she has gets her in trouble with the police for stalking and they think she has mental issues so do not investigate Tucker.

Gabriela is now in danger, will she get hurt as she continues her investigation?

This a a great book, once I picked it up I had a really hard time putting it down. It was suspenseful and full of tension. A real psychological story with some hard to read topics. The parts of the story that relate to SA although were very hard to read they were sensitively written. I really enjoyed this book, it really kept my interest and as a fan of dark, mysterious thriller type books it was right up my alley!

Highly recommend, I’m definitely going to look up other books by Bruno Beaches.

In order to write a review for a book you didn't finish, you have to rate the book, which I think is unfair to the author so I'm giving it 3 stars.

I was gifted this copy by the author to write an honest review but I unfortunately had to stop reading it because of the subject matter in the book. that's what I want to touch on.

I wasn't hating the book BUT you have a serious animal abuser and sexual predator involving a minor in which both things I can't handle. No where is there a warning for it and I'm honestly too afraid to continue reading. But I wanted to put this out there for others to see just in case they can't handle it either.

If you can handle those things, check this book out. It was a little slow but I was also intrigued. Just not intrigued enough to push past the previously stated things.

I wonder why the title is Tucker's Fyke and why there're 2 girls in there at first. But after i read it, i love this book. Bruno is a skillful writer, and how much i love this book, despite only reading once in a while is how good it is. I love the characters, and how each of them have a purpose for the story. The plot, for some it might be predictable from the start, but it's not for me. I just love how it develops, why it's dual POV, and both leads pasts are also explained. The book is not too long as well, which is perfect for me. Love this 😍

Thanks to Bruno for sending me the book in exchange of my honest review.

Wow. Just… wow. Tucker’s Fyke is one of those books that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go until the final page. The pacing is relentless, the stakes sky-high, and the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.

The plot is simple but executed masterfully. Gabriela sees a man. Something about him seems off. She follows her gut, starts digging, and suddenly, she’s drowning in a mess of police charges, disbelief, and mortal danger. The twists come hard and fast—just when you think you know where the story is going, Bruno Beaches throws a curveball that completely changes the game.

One thing I loved? The unpredictability. Too often in thrillers, you see the twists coming a mile away. Not here. Beaches keeps the reader guessing, making it impossible to put the book down. The dual timeline structure adds depth, peeling back layers of both Gabriela and Tucker’s pasts, giving the mystery an even richer texture.

If you love books that make your heart race, Tucker’s Fyke is a must-read. I finished it in one sitting. That’s how addictive it is.

I just Finished Reading “TUCKER’s FYKE” by Author Bruno Beaches, and I'm still reeling from the experience. This book is such a masterclass in suspenseful storytelling, with a unique concept that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

*plot*

From the opening page, the Author competently draws up a sense of unease, introducing us to Gabriela, a young woman with a Keen intuition towards a rugged-looking pessimistic Man staring at her on a street which is later found out to be Tucker Smithers by her neighbour, Dorothy. He is the son of her old school friend and has been in a dark past since childhood.

As Gabriela delves deeper into Tucker’s enigmas, she becomes increasingly gripped with uncovering the truth. Her investigation leads her to steal one of Tucker’s Garbage bags, which contains women’s belongings, which leads the suspicion to its peak. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, Gabriela is determined to expose Tucker’s true character, even if it means putting herself in harm’s way.

*Character*

Gabriela from the first page seems to be a complex and relatable protagonist, driven by a determination that’s both inspiring and terrifying. Author Expertly crafts Gabriela’s Character, making her a sympathetic and rootable protagonist.

Tucker Smithers, on the other hand, is a mystifying figure, which evenly plays his role as the evildoer of this novel. His true nature is slowly revealed throughout the book. Author Bruno masterfully crafts Tucker’s Character, making him a compelling and Complex Villian.

The whole novel seems to be like watching a Netflix series.

The supporting cast, including Dorothy and the police, adds depth to the story, highlighting the shortcomings of the Justice system and the dangers of obsession.

*Pacing and Suspense*

As this novel is a Suspense thriller talking about pacing and anticipation is a must. The pacing of “Tucker’s Fyke” is expertly handled, with each chapter ending in a Cliffhanger that propels the readers forward. Author Bruno masterfully draws up the suspense, slowly ratcheting up the tension as Gabriela delves deeper into Tucker’s mysteries.

The twist and turns are excellently handled, with each disclosure shocking both Garbriela’s and the reader in equal measure.

*In my opinion*

If you pick this book and read it’s first few pages, I must say you'll not keep it down until it reaches the End.

The climax of this book is literally Heart Pounding and satisfying, tying up loose ends and provide a sense of closure.
The book also touches on the theme of trauma, highlighting the long-term effects of past experiences on individuals.
Overall, like other books I read by Bruno beaches, I would highly recommend this book to my Fellow Readers.

This book is a must-read!!!

Tucker's Fyke by @brunobeaches

Thank you, Bruno, for contacting me and sending me this intriguing and uniquely brutal book.

Twisted, dark, disturbing, graphic, gut-wrenching, and harrowing.

Narrated by two characters and shared between various timelines between 1974 and 2023, this made the backstory strong and multi-layered.

Tucker's a psychopath with some very worrying traits that were significantly missed or perhaps even ignored from a young age. His single-parent labeled elled her child as being "special" and "unintelligent." With a lack of support from mainstream school, he was shunted to boarding school, where he encountered horrific sexual abuse and it's clear he never fully recovered. Lacking emotion, empathy, and exhibiting unusual responses to life changes, most of all, he would torture animals to death. This part I found extremely difficult to digest.

Gabriel was also a tortured soul. She was placed into foster care as a baby and later abused by her male guardian. The abuse went on for several years until she reached the age of ten, when realised she she was being taken advantage of. Although her life is on track, she's still vulnerable but relentless.
Gabriel's brief meeting with Tucker sends her senses into overdrive, and she becomes determined to find out what he's hiding.

The police responses to this whole situation were infuriating, but given the evidence provided, you could understand their actions. I'd hope that, as time goes on, police work becomes much more successful in protecting vulnerable children and adults.

The scary thing is that some events are significantly believable, and I think that's what hits home the most. This reads like a true-crime case and mystery. It's very worrying that these types of things still happen today. Humans can be vile.

This was such a difficult read at times. It was sickening. It definitely comes with huge trigger warnings.

Despite this, it was quite a compelling read. It's a short story, but I think it had the potential to be so much more. It was one of those books where you can't believe what you're seeing but can't peel your eyes away.

It was well-written, an easy read (apart from the topics), and had a nice flow. I'd recommend it if you're after a graphic psychological thriller, just be aware of the issues included.

To begin with, a huge thank you to Bruno for sending me a copy of his newest book! All of Bruno's books are fascinating and I feel as if I'm reading a psychology / sociology book sometimes.
I find myself hooked to the storylines and interesting information that we can learn throughout.
I will say though: I think this may be my favourite of Bruno's work. It's certainly has the hardest themes, but the way Bruno handles this is excellent. I won't forget it.

Gabriela believes a local man named Tucker is an abuser. Why? She can't say. She just knows. She becomes obsessed with this. Digging through his trash looking for evidence of anything that will validate her thoughts. This leads to problem with the police, as you can imagine. Without much to go on, Gabriela finds herself the one in trouble. Throughout the book, we get to learn more about Gabriela's upbringing. This pushes us to understand why she may have some of the thought processes she has.

We also get to meet the man in question, Tucker. And like Gabriela, we read his life over the years. Once again, helping us understand his personality, and how the things going on in the current day may be a result of his difficult past.

This book, at times, was shocking. The content can be distressing as this stuff can and does happen in real life. The emotions pouring out of the book was so intense. I felt the terror, the panic, the frustration. Towards the end, I was so on edge! The best thing about it was the in-depth background as I felt it was an interesting psychological insight into why people do the things they do. Some people can overcome their past, and some people simply cannot. Sometimes it can be as simple as someone being there and listening to change the outcome of the future. And sadly, some people may be a loss cause and provide the world with evil even after kindness was given to them.

Certainly an fascinating topic for a book club to dive in to. This book comes with particularly hard themes, but I recommend it to those who enjoy the thriller genre. Those who want heart pounding and shocking storylines, and those who enjoy psychological insight into the characters

First of all a big thank you to Bruno Beaches who gifted me this copy to read and review.
I must start by saying that this book is a really good example of not judging a book by its cover. No discredit to the front cover, but it does not convey the psychological thriller that this book is actually meant to be. If you look past the front cover, the story is fairly gripping and delves into a lot of traumatic events as we find out about the two main characters, Gabriella and Tucker. The chapters alternate between both characters and the past and present. I liked Tucker’s chapters more than Gabriella’s, as I felt that he was a more believable character. I also liked how his chapters started at a young age and progressed so we could really see his backstory and perhaps begin to understand him. In my opinion, Gabriella comes across as very immature in the way she sets about ‘investigating’ Tucker, however she is also determined and given her history I guess she has reason to be suspicious.

Unfortunately, this book didn’t really draw me in. It is quite a slow burn and whilst I enjoyed reading it, I didn’t feel any empathy for the characters and wasn’t that invested in the plot. I also felt that it lacked tension and those cliff hanger moments which would have made me more committed to the story. However, I did like the internal debate that the author is trying to draw from the reader - that of nature vs nurture and the impact that both characters’ early trauma has on their behaviour.

Although it shares some common themes with other thriller novels out there, it is quite a different read to many other books I have read recently. So if you are looking for a new author or something different to try then Tucker’s Fyke may be the book for you.

DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

I mean it! I knew it was a thriller going in but I did not know it was a psychological thriller. This book is dark and gets darker the more you get into it.

*** This book has TRIGGER WARNINGS : Rape, Pedo, Kidnapping, Child Abuse ***

You will definitely get sucked right in on the first page up till the last. This is a fast paced book and it will keep you on a chokehold.

This is the story of woman named Gabriela, who notices a man staring her down while she is at the store just getting milk. She does not know this man and he probably doesn’t know her but she just knows within her bones that he is not a good man. Call it 6th sense but for some reason, this unknown man brings out something from her past. She now goes down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what is making her spidey senses to tingle.

You will also get a storyline from another main character of this book. And it will show you what makes a child a monster. It is a really good read. Sad but good.

Thank you to the author for gifting me this book and allowing me to give my honest review. I am positive that I’ll be thinking of this book as much as I have thought of My Dark Vanessa . It was definitely a deep dark twisted take - how brilliant of you!

This is my 3rd book read by this author, and it was another book showcasing his ability to psychologically flesh out interesting characters.

At the heart of this novel is two main characters-Gabriela, and Tucker. Gabriela-the protagonist. Tucker-the antagonist. But as with all his characters, it’s not that simple.

Gabriela is a young woman who had been shuffled through the foster care system, and experienced abuse at the hands of one of her carers. She becomes sensitive to certain looks and reactions, and it is what leads her to believe Tucker is up to no good. But she has zero proof, and her obsession leads her to do questionable things. It doesn’t help that no one believes her.

Tucker is an older man who, from a young age, been emotionally stunted. He cares for nothing unless there is something in it for him, and the ends always justify the means. He has goals he wishes to obtain, but they require him to do things that are morally and legally wrong. Given that he also experienced abuse is a child, without himself realizing that’s what it was, the question becomes, “was he born the way he is, or did his upbringing contribute to who he ultimately became?”

I quite liked this story, and the way Beaches takes us through a bit of a cat-and-mouse chase. The story keeps you engaged throughout, and leaving you hoping Gabriela can help Tucker’s other victims before it’s too late.

A big thank you to the author for my copy of his book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This covers a number of dark and difficult themes so bear in mind if you go ahead and read. There's harm to animals and children that I know some may find particularly hard to read. However, this is a good book and I think shows the realities of the world we live in.

Children in care are often dealt a bad hand, not simply because of the circumstances leading them to care in the first place but the stigma that follows. Additionally, this addresses the reality of changes to a child's placement and for the most part occurs through no fault of their own. It's a harsh reality and Bruno deals with it in an open and honest, matter-of-fact way.

Harm to others is another harsh reality that occurs daily and is often minimised or missed. How many times have we read or heard of missed opportunities to save someone from harm?

Tucker is very obviously a troubled and extremely dangerous person who professionals should have monitored early on. However, no-one seemed to pick up on his behaviours and as a result others came to harm.

Gabriela and Dorothy are great characters with good instincts. I think Gabriela's comes from her past experiences, resilience and need to survive. Bruno writes her in such a way that you don't dwell on her past and quickly champion her; willing her to succeed. You can't feel sorry for her as she's a fighter and taking control. She doesn't dwell on her past so neither should we. It'd only breed pity and she doesn't need that.

"Tucker's Fyke" by author Bruno Beaches is an interesting, emotional, and psychological thriller that sheds light on dark themes of abuse, the trapping of innocent people, and explores themes of trust and the power of one's instincts.

The novel revolves around a young protagonist named Gabriela. One day, while Gabriela is returning home, she stops at a local corner shop to buy bread and milk. She notices a middle-aged man continuously staring at her. Based on her gut instinct, Gabriela assumes he is an abuser. The man is Tucker Smithers, a local builder who was abandoned by his father when he was five years old, along with his mother.

Gabriela's suspicions lead her to venture near Tucker's house to collect evidence, but this ultimately puts her in more trouble when she is arrested by the police for stalking and theft. Are Gabriela's instincts correct, or are they simply a mistake? What is Tucker up to?

Gabriela's character is portrayed exceptionally well as a determined individual, and I appreciate the author for that. I also liked the supporting character of Dorothy. The narration is delivered from the dual perspectives of Gabriela and Tucker. Author Bruno takes us back to the characters' pasts, allowing us to understand more about their childhoods. As you continue reading about the characters' pasts, you'll begin to realize their motivations in the present.

"Tucker's Fyke" is a suspenseful thriller novel that is worth reading and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will certainly make you think about how one's past shapes their future and influences their actions, even leading them to do things they shouldn't.

bruno reached out to me in regards to me reading his work to which i am highly honoured, so thank you!- after reading the synopsis for the book i was intrigued as to how the story would play out.

it was well paced and had me hooked on wondering how gabriela came to the conclusions she did. as we get further into the book, both gabriela’s and tucker’s past from childhood is looked into and explained, this leads up to the events to follow further within the book. things are described within the novel in a way that has you gasping and feeling sick to the stomach. there were many times i had to place my kindle down in order to collect my thoughts and process the information, this is a triggering read but gripping nonetheless, it wasn’t long before my kindle was back in my hand.

bruno has a unique writing style and this is the first read that has made me feel such discomfort and disgust at the horrors they’ve endured and how twisted things can get. i was absolutely mortified whilst reading this, yet understand that these things genuinely do happen which is utterly heartbreaking. the amount of times i gasped, shook my head and placed my hand over my mouth in shock and disgust was unreal.

my stomach was in knots reading this novel.

would i be interested in checking out other works by bruno beaches? absolutely!

honestly, i don’t know how to feel but if you can stomach this kinda read, then i absolutely recommend! your mental health ALWAYS comes first! so please approach with caution⚠️

DARK!! TWISTED!! UNPUTDOWNABLE!!

This is the most fast paced book I have ever read. This is the kind of nail biting page turner thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat, with your heart racing with palpable anxiety and brain flooded with mysterious questions.

Tucker's Fyke is a Psychological thriller that centers around this highly self reliant, brave and feisty young girl, Gabriela who runs into this total stranger, Tucker and in that short rendezvous, and a mere few seconds of eye contact, she reads his face and makes a strong headed opinion about him. She is so confident that she can go any bounds to prove that he is a dangerous man and is hurting someone. Without any concrete evidence , and entirely based on her intuition, she commences an amateur yet highly focused investigation around him , but unfortunately, she finds herself coiled into a number of police cases against her around unsolicited stalking, harassment and even robbery. Based on her upbringing in multiple foster homes, and her background story , the police treat her speculations as neurotic and unrealistic. However, her bravery and gut feeling , would not let her sit at peace. She knows that she is playing with fire yet she continues her reconnaissance and is determined to find answers. It is for us to further explore whether she will find something or will she be victimized and put herself in danger

I loved this book so much. Deeply invigorating and highly gripping , this book magnetizes reader's attention to its core. Narrated with intertwined timelines exploring the past of both Gabriela and Tucker, this story keeps the reader engaged into it and I bet you would defer everything until you find answers. The book slithers between past and present and inch by inch, chapter by chapter, you get to know Tucker and Gabriela more , yet there seems to be a mystic air throughout the story that lets you go on and on. The slow and steady character build up is so marvelously done, and the twists and turns are presented to the reader, in such a smart way , I bet you will try to control your gasp and find yourself, saying this to yourself, "I did not see that coming" many times. With every turning page, this book keeps strengthening its grip around you and you have no choice but to reach the end as soon as possible.

Bruno Beaches is excellent at his craft. This is my fourth book by this author and I am now a big fan of his work. He upgrades psychological story telling to another level with his phenomenal and engaging writing style.

I highly recommend this book to all the thriller lovers who are always on the lookout for fast paced, deeply satisfying mysteries and invigorating thrillers.

A whole hearted 5 stars for this book.

This gripping novel follows Gabriela, a fiercely independent young woman who grew up in the care system. When a seemingly innocent encounter with a stranger sparks an unshakable feeling of danger, she embarks on a quest to uncover the truth—despite having no real evidence. Her gut instinct sets her on a dangerous path, clashing with the police, who dismiss her as a nuisance and a troublemaker.

What makes this story so compelling is Gabriela’s determination in the face of relentless opposition. The tension builds as she risks everything to prove her suspicions, only to find herself in life-threatening danger. The novel explores themes of resilience, justice, and the challenges of being unheard when fighting for the truth.

With a fast-paced narrative and a strong, likable protagonist, this book keeps readers engaged from start to finish. Fans of psychological thrillers and suspenseful mysteries will find themselves hooked. The question lingers until the very last page—will Gabriela triumph, or is she doomed to become another lost victim?

A must-read for those who enjoy stories of courage against the odds.

Bruno Beaches’ Tucker’s Fyke is not merely a thriller—it’s a masterclass in psychological tension, gaslighting, and the fragility of perceived reality. The novel plays with the unreliable narrator trope in a way that feels fresh rather than formulaic. Gabriela, our protagonist, is at once tenacious and desperate, a woman clinging to the edges of sanity while trying to uncover the truth.

What makes this book stand out is its exploration of power dynamics—Tucker’s menace isn’t in brute force but in his quiet ability to control the narrative. He exists in a space between charming and terrifying, a character who could be harmless if you didn’t know better. And yet, do we know better? The novel forces the reader to question what they believe, to second-guess every assumption.

The pacing is razor-sharp, the writing immersive, and the conclusion deeply satisfying in the way only truly well-crafted thrillers can be. Tucker’s Fyke doesn’t just tell a story—it unsettles you, and that is the mark of a great psychological thriller.

I finished Tucker’s Fyke in one sitting. I had to. There was no way I could just put it down and go about my day.
From the start, Gabriela’s desperation pulled me in. She knows Tucker Ward is dangerous, but no one listens. And the more she tries to prove it, the more people turn against her. It’s maddening—but in the best way possible. I felt her frustration, her fear, her helplessness. I wanted to scream at the characters around her to open their eyes!
Tucker himself is terrifying in a way that feels real. He doesn’t chase people with weapons. He doesn’t need to. He manipulates, gaslights, and destroys reputations with a smile. That’s what makes him so unsettling—he could exist in real life.
The writing kept me on edge. Every chapter had me saying, “Just one more,” until suddenly, it was 3 AM, and I was staring at the last page in shock. The ending? Absolutely mind-blowing.
If you love psychological thrillers that mess with your head and keep you turning pages, Tucker’s Fyke is one you don’t want to miss.

This story is a bit different to normal, it tells us of Tucker, a man who lives with his mum but also comes across as a bit strange. It flips back and forward in time to tell us on Tucker as a child and then an adult, how he grew up to be the man he became. I liked the idea of his neighbour teaching him to fish but Tucker reminds me of Sid in Toy Story. A child who likes pulling legs off spiders, wings off flies, using a magnifying glass to burn things. This is the type of person Tucker is.

I feel sorry for his mother and as the story unfolds, Gabriela's thoughts about him hiding something opens up a whole situation. Dorothy is a godsend and little T.Rex too!

This was a good read as the suspense builds up, Tucker and Gabriela have bad blood between them, going to the police on each other but not really getting anywhere, or so it seems.

The twins story also reminds me of another story, a made up virus which they believe is real because Tucker, their "Pappy" said so. One to read for something out of the ordinary.

This book was a great read, Gabriella has been through so much, since a very young age, and it is very emotional. I really enjoyed the back stories of the characters Tucker and Gabriella, to give you a picture of who they are and why they are the way they are.
This isn’t a big book, with around 180 pages but the story told was great and keeps you captivated. Bruno is a great writer who has written a few other books. Gabriella is driven by her gut feeling that Tucker is actually dangerous and she has these feelings despite having absolutely no evidence, and so the bad blood between them begins… I don’t like to write a lot about the stories plot, as I don’t want to spoil it for the reader, but if you like a suspenseful psychological thriller, then I recommend this book. It’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 for me!

Thank you to Bruno for sending me a copy of this book! I have very much enjoyed it, and will check out your other books.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this one. It’s true what they say, don’t judge a book by its cover. I honestly didn’t understand the cover until I got further into my reading. This one was an interesting read and definitely covers really dark and realistic topics. I suggest reading any trigger warnings prior to reading.

This story starts off with Gabriela, our FMC, who sees a strange man staring by at her in the grocery store. She gets a string, eerie feeling about him that she can’t quite let go of. When she finds out it is Tucker Smithers who lives a few blocks away, she begins to stalk him in order to catch him doing something wrong based on her suspicions. When she starts rummaging through his trash outside, she discovers items that would not be used by a single, lonely man. She brings her suspicions to the police but they just think she’s mentally unstable and trying to harass an innocent man. She decides to take matters into her own hands and uncovers something way more sinister than she could ever imagine.

This one got off to a bit of a slow start, but halfway through it definitely picked up and I could not put it down. The story is full of twists that will keep you guessing. As mentioned earlier, it does cover heavy topics and can be quite an emotional read for some, but I highly recommend giving this one a read.

This book creeps up on you. It starts with an uneasy feeling, a brief encounter, a gut instinct that something isn’t right. And then, before you know it, you’re tangled in Gabriela’s descent into obsession, danger, and a terrifying battle for survival.
What I loved most about Tucker’s Fyke is how it messes with your head. Gabriela is convinced Tucker is dangerous, but the book constantly forces you to question whether she’s right or simply spiraling. It taps into that primal fear we all have—the fear of not being believed, of seeing danger that no one else acknowledges.
The dual perspective adds an extra layer of dread. Learning about Tucker’s past doesn’t make him sympathetic; it makes him even scarier. Some people are just broken beyond repair.
This book is dark, unsettling, and impossible to put down. If you love thrillers that crawl under your skin and refuse to leave, this one’s for you.

If you’re into true crime, this book will get under your skin. It feels eerily real—like one of those cases where people swear they “knew something was off” but couldn’t prove it until it was too late.
Tucker Ward is exactly the kind of person who could exist in real life. Charismatic, untouchable, always two steps ahead. And Gabriela? She’s the journalist who refuses to look away, even when the world tells her she’s wrong. Her investigation is messy, frustrating, and full of dead ends—just like real cases.
The scariest part? How easily Tucker manipulates people. It makes you wonder how many real-life crimes have been buried by someone just like him. If you love crime thrillers that blur the line between fiction and reality, this one is a must-read.

Book Review

Give me a crime novel with a great villain, and I’m hooked. Tucker Ward isn’t just great—he’s one of the most chilling villains I’ve ever read. Not because he’s violent, but because he’s subtle. He destroys people without ever laying a hand on them.
Gabriela sees through his charm, but she’s alone in that. Watching her try to bring him down, only to see him twist everything in his favor, was frustrating in the best way. I was begging for him to slip up, to make one mistake. And when things finally start unraveling? It’s worth every moment of the build-up.
If you love crime thrillers with villains you love to hate, pick this up immediately. I highly recommend this to all thriller readers.

Thankyou! Happy reading

4.5 ⭐️ You know how sometimes when you watch a movie an actor plays a bad guy so well that you start to believe that’s how they are in real life? Well, I’m going to need someone to go dig around this authors basement and backyard please because AAAHHHH! Bruno Beaches did a great job with this story! His writing style is crisp & succinct.

Fyke: noun, a bag or net used for trapping.

Tucker is a bad man, Gabriela is certain of this. Proving it hasn’t been as tangible as the extreme sense of unease she felt the moment she laid eyes on him. Will the police believe her hunch or will she have to continue putting herself in dangers way to obtain proof? Or possibly, is Gabriela simply jaded from her own past?

This was a really good book!!! I loved the duel POV’s and flashback timelines. The material itself was sometimes difficult to read. And for that I say: check the trigger warnings! ⚠️

I read crime thrillers for the twists, and Tucker’s Fyke did not disappoint. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the story yanked the rug out from under me.
Gabriela is convinced Tucker Ward is hiding something sinister, but she’s up against a master manipulator. The way Tucker twists the truth is terrifying—not because it’s unrealistic, but because it feels too real. He knows exactly how to play people, making Gabriela’s search for the truth a waking nightmare.
Every chapter had me doubting what I thought I knew. Is Gabriela really onto something, or is she being paranoid? That tension is what makes this book so addictive. And the ending? Let’s just say I had to sit back and process it before I could even think about starting another book. If you love psychological thrillers that keep you guessing, this one’s for you.

Thank you to this author for this book!
The cover really doesn’t do this book justice.
Tuckers fyke was a dark, suspense read. The darkness of this book was the reality of the world we live in, a very sad reality. Gabriela was such a strong character and very strong willed. !!Be a Gabriela and always trust your instincts!!
I loved how in the beginning we learned their past, and how your past can play a part in the person you are now. All in all I loved the writing and the dips of reality he put in

I really enjoyed this one. This book is told by 2 narrators over a dual timeline, set between 1974 and 2023. This gives you the perfect back story of both of the main characters.
I found this book to be well written and very easy to read. Definitely could have been a one sitting read if I didn't have other commitments. It touches on some very heartbreaking situations that some people may find triggering.
I was gripped from the beginning and couldn't wait to see how it all ended.

A massive thank you to @bruno.beaches for contacting me and sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.
