Very glad I picked this up from the Nobel Peace Prize Center gift shop. This book reminded (and probably even taught) me what true dialogue is and how much of a powerful tool it is. Yes, that sounds like something we all know in theory but after reading this I can honestly say my own toolkit was definitely refined. The practical advice solidified by examples through peace prize recipients can really be used in a variety of settings: diffusing conflict, strengthening connections, finding solutions and moving forward with clarity. Get everyone you know to read it!
In books like these I often wish they would acknowledge the issues with creating an only positive outlook on Peace Laureates, many of whom have had very polarizing history’s. But that may be the part of me speaking which needed to be challenged by this book, I will admit I am a pretty polar person and do struggle to engage in dialogue when in a heated discussion.
