I am of two minds about this book, it is very entertaining and hard to put down. I read it in a couple of sittings and it's over four-hundred pages. Some of it just wasn't plausible and was a little too convenient and there were some big coincidences, but it wasn't until the cell phone situation that I actually rolled my eyes. (I hate it when authors use the no phones allowed, no cell service or no charge left gimmick in books, especially in thrillers. It is a copout in my opinion. None of these situations have ever happened to me in my twenty-plus years of owning a cell phone, even when I travelled.)
I did not figure out the culprit or the twist and that is always a bonus. There are a lot of characters so that leaves us with lots of red herrings and possible suspects. It really is a case of who's fooling who? The characters are not very likable, even the ones being stalked, I couldn't stand them. I liked that there was a male victim of stalking.
The premise of this one is utterly unique and the book really pulls the reader in. There is full, non-stop action one hundred percent of the time and a very intense if somewhat unbelievable ending, so I can understand the high ratings and appeal. Even though this was a little out there and the ending was over the top, the journey to get there was a lot of fun entertainment-wise.
I recommend reading the author's note at the end of this, it is very raw and personal and it touched me that she wrote about this topic.

There used to be five of them, but the fifth member of this little WhatsApp group, Natalie, was murdered by her stalker. The others all attended Natalie’s funeral, where a wreath was handed to them simply saying RIP and a date, however it wasn’t meant for Natalie - it was in fact a warning that one of them would die in 10 days time!
Though each chapter was devoted to one character at a time, sadly I had to keep reminding myself who was stalking who, and what their backstory was.
Have to admit to being suspicious about a few of the main characters, but ended up being very surprised by the outcome. I enjoyed the story to a point, but had to suspend disbelief often and found that (for me) it dragged at times.
The author’s notes at the end of the book are enlightening, so do be sure to read them.

Do you know that feeling when you sit back, look towards the ceiling in contemplation and feel completely satisfied? That’s how I felt after finishing every move you make. There is so much to say about this one, but I want to make it completely clear: There is nothing lacking in this one. Every loose thread (even ones I didn’t notice before they were picked up again) was tied up neatly, and that’s an achievement.
The plot was also made for suspense. Stalked characters who takes matters into their own hands, was a perfect way to ensure an engaging read. There were four main characters, which I also loved because there was a lot going on and many possibilities, and I kept wondering who was telling the truth, and what would happen next.
Without spoiling anything, I can say that the book was clever, the characters were interesting and the ending was amazing. The twist came as a surprise, and made perfect sense. Everything was explained and there was a really touching scene at the end. What I also loved was the breathing space between new revelations. Your pulse and mind got the pause it needed before something new happening. And be assured, a lot happens in the book.
I also have to mention that the author included a note about her own experience with stalking at the end, and it was obvious that this was a theme important to her. She treated stalking with understanding and respect, and the complexities came through without necessarily moralizing.

Four people who find each other when they join an online support group for Victims of Stalking. They dub themselves “FYST” which stands for F*** You Stalker Tw*ts”-a name that immediately clued me in that I might struggle with this book.
They keep in touch on WhatsApp-often making sure that one another makes it home safely-as this group of four used to be five until Natalie was followed home by her stalker for the LAST time.
At Nat’s funeral, they are handed a wreath whose attached card reads “ RIP” and promises that another one of them will be killed in ten days.
With the Police doing little to ensure their safety, they devise a plan of their own-the only way to STOP a stalker is to become one yourself-trading stalkers in order to keep each under surveillance.
The story unfolds through their four alternating POV’s and their WhatsApp group texts as we count down the days until someone dies….
Unfortunately, although I was able to keep track of who our four group members were, I often found myself confused about the back stories of each and about “WHO was WHO” in our supporting cast of characters.
In addition it’s a book which became extremely OTT, even for a stalker story with AT LEAST one twist too many.
DO read the author’s note at the conclusion of the book. She was unfortunately a Victim of Stalking fifteen years ago, and I applaud her for sharing her experience and the sobering statistics of Stalking in the UK. and for providing tips and resources for those who may be experiencing stalking now.

Outlier opinion ahead….
Five people are being stalked and they are trying to survive. Then there is a murder, a countdown, and setting a trap. The ones being stalked make a plan.
It started out pretty good, but became muddled pretty quickly. I lost interest and all the characters started to sound the same. I had a hard time staying focused and kept putting it down.
This is only my second by the author, I also gave The Guilty Couple a try, but ended up dnfing at 15%. This author may not be a good fit for me, although I do have Strangers on my tbr and will give it a chance!

A stalked persons' support group has one of their members murdered by their stalker. After receiving at threat to the entire group they decide that the only way they can be safe is by stalking their stalkers back! This London UK set thriller is not as interesting as it sounds but it does capture some of the darkness of staking. Not much else I can say, other than it was still good enough to remain on my bookshelf post-read.

This did make it feel long, but there was enough action and dumb choices that kept me reading into the night. The twist was both shocking and not really much so. Overall, middle of the road fine.
I definitely appreciate the author sharing her personal story in the note at the end that gave the whole reasoning behind this book. It gave her some first hand knowledge that she put forth in the character development making the fear they felt seem realistic.

I cannot imagine the terror of being relentlessly pursued by every means possible, the constant looking over your shoulder with senses on full alert and the living in fear and terror. The hunter and the hunted, prey and pray. Some find it necessary to move house, to leave a job, to leave family and friends in order to stay safe. This is the subject of CL Taylor’s latest novel, it’s a story of a small WhatsApp support group of stalkers victims, Natalie, Bridget, River, Lucy and Alex. The novel starts at Natalie‘s funeral (Yes, the worst happens) when the four are presented with a wreath with a note attached. There’s an RIP and also a threat or warning that one of them will die in ten days time. They need a plan, can they, will they, be able to take back control?? The novel is told by all four and as a ten day countdown.
Oh, my word, this novel absolutely hooks you in the most devastating way right from the very start. The author makes me feel it, the nerves are positively jangling, the nerves shredded as the fear and terror are palpable. There are multiple occasions where shivers run up and down the spine, you feel the need to look over your shoulder, just to check and at times the tension is off the scale. Parts of the novel are terrifying, your heart is in your mouth. It’s creepy, chilling and scary, exactly as it’s meant to be in order to gain some understanding of what stalkers put their targets through.
Each character is well portrayed, they have their own unique voice and good back stories. You do question their reliability at times as understandably after what has happened to them they become secretive. Can you blame them? Who can they trust? This is a very strong element in the plot as you go back-and-forth, reflecting on what has been said or done, and there are occasions where my suspicion antenna twitches this way and that. This is very intensely plotted, at times it’s a slow burn, but then the pace picks up dramatically which only seems to make what unfolds even more terrifying. There are some surprising revelations, some good red herring, some blind alleys, and multiple twists and turns which propels the storytelling to a very satisfying ending.
I am in total awe of the bravery and guts of these characters and those that have suffered the persecution of a stalker. This is written with an insight and authenticity and kudos to the author for writing it. It’s a genuine page turner and hard to put down. I think my heart rate has finally slowed and my breathing is now back to normal. Highly recommended.

Four strangers become fast friends and develop a unique support group. One that no one ever wants to find themselves in. This is a support group for those who are being stalked.
Do these four have what it takes to stop their tormentors and take their lives back?
The storyline itself was a fabulous, twisty tale that will have you casting a suspicious eye on everyone from both within and outside the group.
The author did a superb job giving the reader a vivid glimpse of what it’s like to be stalked.
The fear and helplessness of being in that situation, with few if any options available to take back control. It’s not just a crime targeting the wealthy and powerful. With domestic violence escalating, it can happen to anyone.

It was a good book that made me question 50% of the characters, but the end was underwhelming.

What are all the ⭐️ about?
This started out promising. However, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone and stuck in an episode of Criminal Minds but on repeat. Then it turned into a Lifetime movie. What a nightmare. I would compare it to the movie Fear with Mark Wahlberg, but with a bunch of different stalkers.
If it hadn’t gotten somewhat ridiculous, I probably would have enjoyed it better. Please read the other reviews, I’m on outlier island here. Many people loved this one.

How unsettling to have a stalker, someone who makes you feel uncomfortable and unsafe at every moment of the day. That is what Natalie, Alexandra, Lucy, Bridget & River discuss during their stalking support group. When Natalie is murdered, the group is reeling. Natalie's murder is a frightening reminder of just how serious stalking can be and how much danger they are in. To make matters worse, when they receive a message that one of them will be dead in ten days’ time, their anxiety goes through the roof!
I loved how the author gave readers a countdown during the book i.e. 5 days to murder. This was a nice touch. Readers are also given the POV’s and WhatsApp messages of the group members. We also get to know the characters through their backstories. This book started strongly, and I was instantly engrossed in the story, feeling for the characters. Along the line, this book began to feel unnecessarily long and lost some of its mojo for me. Plus, there are quite a few characters and their stalkers which took this reader some time to wrap my head around who is stalking who.
This book was dramatic and did evoke emotion. How do you not feel for someone who is living in fear? I also wanted to yell "Just go to the police” many times throughout the book. While the middle of the book felt long to me, I did enjoy the twists and turns which occurred at warp speed toward the end of the book.

I loved how the author gave readers a countdown during the book i.e. 5 days to murder. This was a nice touch. Readers are also given the POV’s and WhatsApp messages of the group members. We also get to know the characters through their backstories. This book started strongly, and I was instantly engrossed in the story, feeling for the characters. Along the line, this book began to feel unnecessarily long and lost some of its mojo for me. Plus, there are quite a few characters and their stalkers which took this reader some time to wrap my head around who is stalking who.

A group of five (4 females and 1 male), previously unknown to each other, have bonded over their shared experiences with a stalker (not the same one!) and have formed an online group to support and protect one another.
Although I have no personal experience with stalking, it's a subject that has always fascinated me and I was quite pumped when I started this book. Unfortunately the more I read, the more confused I became. It may have been due to the number of characters and the fact that I had to keep flipping back to remind myself who was stalking whom as well as who was dating whom. It seemed like new names kept popping up and I didn't know who they were; a couple of times I thought I'd missed something. I know that doesn't sound like a glowing recommendation but by the time I made it past the half-way point I was enjoying the book a lot more and by the time I got to about 60% I had done a 180 in my opinion of it. It was hard to figure out who to believe and things got pretty tense in a few places. After being positive I knew who was behind everything, the wrap-up was a surprise but not a disappointment.
The story itself was quite clever even though it induced some eye rolling at times and the characters were varied and interesting but not necessarily likeable. This is my first read of this author and I'd definitely give another of her books a try. 3.5 stars rounded up.

I've read quite a few of this authors books, This one was right up my street and a fantastic read. Alex...Lucy..River...Bridget...and Nat all connected due to being stalked they form a group protecting one another there stalkers are out there scared everywhere they go...Nat was was murdered by her stalker,on the day of her funeral a wreath was given to them with a message on a card someone is next in ten days...Who is next to die? This books tells you there individual stories who they are and why they are being stalked...An intense read and knowing this happens alot in real life.read the author note at the end to understand why she wrote this book..looking forward to reading more of her books. Highly recommend her books.

This was my first book by this author.
I do own two or three other books, unopened to date.
I thought that the concept was original, as I have never heard of a support group for victims of stalking, hence my ratings.
The story started well and the writing was not bad, although repetitive at times.
The development of the storyline was a bit chaotic. It felt rushed, as if written in a panic mode.
And it was hard to feel any sympathy towards the characters, which, by the way, were too many.
The group’s plan action was silly.
But the whole thing was not convincing and the conclusion was really disappointing.
I didn’t mind the alternating POV(s), but I didn’t think it was necessary to countdown the days.
I did appreciate reading the author’s note about her own experiences with stalking, so because of that I expected a more realistic story.
But I’m the outlier, so don’t mind my opinion.
Lots of readers loved this book, but I won’t recommend this book to anyone I know.

I always look forward to C L Taylor’s releases. Some have been 3*, some 4* this one is definitely a 5* read for me personally.
I had read through this authors ex stalkers experience online when she linked to it on Facebook.
Of course I clicked and was moved by what she had gone through.
We may say “not another stalker story” but this has power and umff because this lady knows just how it feels! And I’m sure others having had this done to them would relate.
I read this story outside the compass it was in “stalker” because this is made up of characters, fiction and of course for readers to take in. So using a WhatsApp group to empower the ones being stalked made me realise, there’s a message there……you are stronger than you think.
I thought it a genius way of allowing us readers more insight to each character within the WhatsApp group, the opening up of a whole can of worms from each persons thoughts and experiences, yet coming together as one unit. Everyone had something in common…..or did they.
The twists I thought were very well matched with the pace of the book and how far the author wanted to gradually keep us guessing.
I loved the start, the middle and the ending and now urging my daughter to read this.

Jest to jeden z lepszych thrillerów psychologicznych, jaki czytałam w ostatnich miesiącach. Autorka po mistrzowsku ukazała zagrożenie i lęk z nim związany. Zagrożeniem są stalkerzy piątki bohaterów. Poziom niebezpieczeństwa wzrasta, gdy jedna z ofiar stalkingu zostaje zamordowana przez swojego prześladowcę, a pozostali członkowie grupy dostają wiadomość, że za 10 dni zginie następny z nich. Bohaterowie wykazują nadmiar emocji, są neurotyczni, przewrażliwieni, ale ich strach jest uzasadniony. Paranoja jest uzasadniona. Nie wpadają jednak w panikę, a podejmują próbę walki z wrogami.
Domyśliłam się "półfinału", ale ostateczne rozwiązanie było już sporym zaskoczeniem.

Another fabulous book by this author. Stalkers, a fascinating theme and not an area I have previously thought a lot about, but this book opened up my eyes up to how terrible this may be. Lucy, Alex, River and Bridget are all facing this dilemma, day in, day out.
One of the group’s best friends Nat was killed by a stalker recently and the group meet up at her funeral. Whilst there, a wreath is delivered that states a terrifying warning, in ten days time one of this group will be next. Then the terror begins. As the book progresses we are provided with a lot of insight into this group both individually and also in the relationships they have between each other. We come to know more about them, their personality traits and behaviours.
I can’t imagine what it must be like to be continuously fearful and frightened each time you walk out or in the door. This is such an intense read, it’s like the world is ceasing to exist as you are taken along this wild ride. I was totally engrossed in this story, it all felt so real and my emotions were being thrown around creating a fantastic few hours of enjoyment.

I'm actually surprised I didn't finish this title. It all started fine, with a group of victims of stalking finding help and understanding with each other. They all have their reasons not to just rely on what the police can do so they come up with a plan - especially wThen one of the group gets actually murdered and there is a real threat hanging over the others.
What bothered me was mainly that after a while I was starting to lose the different stories. I had to keep going back to see who was who, who the stalker was and why. It all became very muddled for me so around the 50% mark so I skipped to the 80% mark to try and pick up the story. No such luck.
I also just couldn't understand why they al most all seem to have a lot of social media accounts, but they don't use them in the usual way - the accounts are in fake names or set to private. Well, in real life I personally don't see what someone makes to want to live their life on the internet instead of having a real life, with real friends so this added to my confusion.
The story is sort of a 'Strangers on a Train' but then with more people - which sadly for me it didn't make it more interesting.

After one is killed by their stalker, the remaining group receives a memorial wreath at the funeral with a card that says one of them will die in 10 days. Deciding to no longer live in fear, this quartet decides to take revenge.
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller! The book grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go. The author does a magnificent job of giving the reader the feeling of fear and isolation that these characters face. It gave me claustrophobic feelings. You get to know the characters and their backstories as we go along and how they started being stalked. I enjoyed the realness of the emotions and the support they gave each other. I would also highly recommend you read the author's note at the end! This is for fans of fast-paced psychological thrillers.

I have read several books by this author, but this was my least favourite by far. I found the story was far-fetched and quite unbelievable in places, although I was very sorry to read that the plot is based on personal experiences.
The countdown is apparently on when four stalker victims receive a wreath at a friend’s funeral, detailing a supposed death date. Each character is convinced they will be murdered by their stalker and will do anything to survive. Except, it would seem, involve the police. And this is the theme for most of the story: all of the characters complete rather extreme, over the top actions, without any consideration of the law. The logic is that the police will offer no support and the stalker will continue to haunt their lives – prison will only provide a hiatus until this stops. Of course, the only way to overcome this is to trap the stalker and murder them. Of course!
I really struggled with the lack of belief in the police. I could understand the desperation that the characters felt but believe this was mis-placed. Whilst it is revealed that the author has been on the receiving end of such hateful watching, I wished the characters had been more likeable and less rash in their actions. For example, Lucy’s time in Dartmoor seemed incredibly unrealistic and I could not understand how so much goes unnoticed by any sort of authority organisation.
The novel switches between the four victims and I eventually struggled to keep their identities separate in my mind. In my opinion, they were too similar, resulting in the names getting blended. This was especially difficult when the characters start to get involved with the other stalkers in a bid to plant a tracking device for the victim’s peace of mind. Some are identified, some trackers are found and I found this part of the plot difficult to swallow – how could such a device never be found and how could the victims readily believe them?
This was a difficult book to read because I know this is a topic that is sadly relevant to too many people. Perhaps my inability to empathise with this crime made the story more difficult to believe but, I do find it frustrating when the police are just portrayed as inept and not willing to investigate crimes reported. On the other hand, maybe my personal perception is too rose-tinted in a budget-stricken society…
Overall, I did not enjoy this story as much as I was hoping for. Indeed, whilst I could not foresee how the story would conclude, it took too long to get there. There were too many unrealistic actions along the way that, by the time I had reached the conclusion, I did not care too much about what happened to the characters.

This was a really tense read, and sadly, very real on many levels. This was a taboo subject for this author to tackle, but she did it exactly right. She managed to convey the panic and how debilitating stalking can be to its victims. The writing was so brilliant that I had to keep reminding myself it’s a work of fiction. The characters were well written, and the author nailed their personalities perfectly. There is a note at the end of the book regarding the authors personal experience with stalking, which was very eye opening and a catalyst for writing this story. This was a great read, and really helped me understand stalking a bit more, and how it’s not treated as serious as it should be.

November 13, 2024I picked up this novel while at Heathrow Airport, largely because of the many positive blurbs, not only from fellow writers but also from newspaper and magazine book reviews, all of which are featured on the front cover and on the first three pages. Pretty impressive. While the plot spins along and the characters are well-drawn, I found that I wasn't as gripped by the story as I wanted to be. I assume this might be because I was reading the book during the run-up to the 2024 Presidential election. Perhaps nothing could have gripped me during that. I will say that the author quite skillfully played out her information to keep the reader guessing and that there were a several gripping scenes during which characters were in danger. I did find the demise of one of the characters quite satisfying, and I appreciated the growth of the characters as they got to know one another and became willing to take on their stalkers. It's definitely a novel for the age of social media, one in which the women take charge in ways that I quite admired.

There is a tense feeling throughout and their fear is palpable. When a wreath is sent with a countdown of ten days…. Ten days before their number gets reduced to three.
Amongst them one member of the group is not who they seem to be. What is their motive? One member has been unwittingly in communication online with their stalker. One member is suspicious about one of the group. One member does not want the police involved for reasons that soon become clear, while they all struggle to know what to do for the best.
This book showcases how clever some stalkers can be and I am glad one of the group is male which tells you it is not always women who are stalked.
Some of what happened could have been avoided. When we see how one member of the group becomes blinkered when they realise that someone close to them is responsible. As we see their lies catch up-to them. Will they rue the day for their actions…. I must admit I felt no sympathy for that person.

This story grabbed me from the beginning, kept me guessing and engaged till the end. The story was told from 4 different perspectives - 3 of them female and 1 male who was stalked by his obsessive ex. It is scary how easily some people can manipulate situations, lie so well, that you don't quite know who or what to believe.
I've read thrillers with stalkers before but in this story there are multiple victims and stalkers, so this made it more complex and sinister. Author was good at showing how vulnerable victims of stalking are. That so many victims of stalking are left alone to deal with their crazy stalker because they get no help from the police, unless they are bodily harmed at some point.
I guess author's personal experiense made this topic even more realistic and personal.
We are surrounded with technology, social media, so stalkers have even easier access to someone's private life and their homes. You can loose your privacy and you can never be sure what are the motivations behind stalker's behaviour.
When the victims decide to fight back and stop being the victims, then I could only cheer them on and hope that everything will end up well. Overall this story wasn't an easy read at times but I liked it a lot. And I like that author gave resolution and didn't end at random place like so many thrillers end, so reader won't get closure in the end.

It is scary how easily some people can manipulate situations, lie so well, that you don't quite know who or what to believe.
I've read thrillers with stalkers before but in this story there are multiple victims and stalkers, so this made it more complex and sinister. Author was good at showing how vulnerable victims of stalking are. That so many victims of stalking are left alone to deal with their crazy stalker because they get no help from the police, unless they are bodily harmed at some point.
I guess author's personal experiense made this topic even more realistic and personal.
We are surrounded with technology, social media, so stalkers have even easier access to someone's private life and their homes. You can loose your privacy and you can never be sure what are the motivations behind stalker's behaviour.
When the victims decide to fight back and stop being the victims, then I could only cheer them on and hope that everything will end up well. Overall this story wasn't an easy read at times but I liked it a lot. And I like that author gave resolution and didn't end at random place like so many thrillers end, so reader won't get closure in the end.

Previous books have crowned C. L. Taylor the Queen of Thrills, in my opinion, and Every Move You Make was no exception to this. I read this book in a few sittings (parent life!), but I could have easily sat and read in one sitting if I had the chance, I resisted putting it down as much as I could and couldn't wait to get back to the gang.
We follow Alex, River, Bridget and Lucy through what can only be described as their harrowing experiences with stalkers. They've formed a WhatsApp support group, check in on each other and have become close friends, especially after their fifth member, Natalie, was killed by her stalker. At her funeral they are given a wreath; someone has only ten days until they die too. To stop their stalkers they have to get close to them.
I did find some parts of this a tough read due the nature of the storyline (even in a fictional state), sadly in today's world it is something we hear more about and it isn't too far from home for a lot of readers. However, I couldn't help but keep reading (it obviously didn't put me off!), and I feel like C. L. Taylor wrote about this in a way that grabbed me and demanded my attention. Every Move You Make has everything you would expect from this author; thrills, exceptional tension, huge spectacular reveals and gasp inducing moments. Written from a dual perspective you think you have a front row seat to the inside of every characters mind, but not everything is as it seems in this nail biting book.
A hugely anticipated read that did not disappoint, kept me awake late into the night wanting more, and is one of my favourite books of C. L. Taylor's. A must read.

It pains me to write this but this book was so disappointing. I guessed the twist (or one of them) very early on and I couldn’t connect to any of the characters at all. I always want to love C L Taylor books but I seem to come away disappointed every time

Nobody is more shocked than me that I loved this. I gave CL Taylor's last book 1 star.
