Rate this book
Taboo Forbidden Erotica

Alex Stevens-Macy is 18 going on 12. She’s rich, spoiled and bratty. She has everything and what she doesn’t have she can buy. So why is she about to run away from home? Because the one thing she wants is the man who’s brought her up, dreamy Mark Macy – and he doesn’t want her, not in that way. To Mark, Alex is a little girl, his little girl. After the death of her mom, Mark has taken his responsibility very seriously, especially since Alex’s latest “prank” has resulted in criminal charges. To stay out of jail, she’s been remanded to Mark’s custody for a year.

So when Alex skips her AA meeting to get high with a bad boyfriend, Mark is furious. He’s waiting for her when she gets home late and when she’s rude and unrepentant, takes her in hand for some old-fashioned discipline. What happens next surprises them both and spins their relationship into a whole new direction.

It also causes a whole new set of problems, since a night of passion doesn’t make Alex any more mature or manageable. In fact it makes her brattier. Enter Roberta Hardwood of The Hardwood School of Corrective Guidance for Young Ladies. Hardwood is a former British army sergeant and police officer used to difficult girls. She’s also black and doesn’t take anyone’s shit. She locks down the family mansion and informs her defiant charge that she’s in for six weeks of Billionaire Boot Camp. Task One: make up your bed.

I am slightly disappointed in this book because it had great potential. A bratty daughter, a hot step-dad, an ex-military warden and billions of dollars to spend. The possibilities were endless, and the opening "sex-scene credits" showed great promise.

And then it collapsed like a half-baked chocolate soufflé.
You still enjoy the flavour, yet can't but admit it is just a flop.

I give bonus points for the awesome fantastic NSA-Big Brother dialogues, and the fast cars chase. But when your run through streets and backward stunts take up more pages in the book than the final sex scene, you have made a wrong turn somewhere.

I first started to get antsy when I realized step-dad Mark left cheeky and totally wild Alex to be "corrected" in the hands of "yes drill sergeant" Roberta. Say what now? Fleeing instead of turning this sexy tiger to a purring kitten with a bright red bottom? Denying yourself the undeniable passion and opportunity? What kind of weakling does that!

Then the sheer ridiculousness of the measures taken for Alex not to escape. A prisoner in her own house. That got my blood boiling nice and good. I understand locking the door. But bars on the windows? What the fuck!

And then the bomb of "hey, sorry, you're not a billionnairess any more - in fact, you are not even a thousand dollars worth because I lost all your money in one month". Seriously? Like... seriously now?! Mark is supposed to be THE best, top-of-the-accountant-chain and he loss 900+ million?

So thank you, but no. I'm not buying it :)
