I was recommended this author by @readwithrach on Instagram. And this author is one that has worked on projects with authors like Susan Stoker. I am always on the hunt for some really good suspense series and I really liked the characters in this one. I don't always read prequels but I am definitely intrigued with this one. I loved the friendships between these members and curious to get to their stories.

....maybe it was just preparation for something else"

This is the birth of Blade and Arrow, from the first seed of an idea, to actually opening the doors. We knew some of each person story, that there had been difficult times. But here we catch up with them during that in-between time....after the Green Beret's and the incident that ripped the team apart and before they come back together as Blade and Arrow. We see just how lost they are without each other, they are bruised and a little broken, missing their team and unsure how to fully integrate into society. Whilst I don't like seeing them struggle, it does remind us that they are human, they have flaws, weaknesses and fears...something that is easy to forget when you read the main Blade and Arrow series and see them at their best.

Answers SO many questions…

This is one of my favourite romantic suspense series with great characters and steamy/suspenseful plots. This prequel answers how and why the security crew got together and it answered all the questions I had. With the author’s signature style all was revealed in a compact little package. I only wish I’d read this before the series!

New Beginnings!

Blade and Arrow: After Cole left the Green Beret he was happy being a police officer because he didn't feel like he was protecting the community. He miss his old team mates. He started thinking about a plan to start something with his old team mates and they all agreed. It was a great start to the series.
