“You have saved me countless times before, my love. Let me save us this time.”
Back in Exile, Thea is plagued by the unshakable feeling that something is missing—something important. Each night, she is comforted by dreams of a man whose face remains a mystery, except for his piercing golden eyes. But as her dreams twist into nightmares, they unveil his perilous fate—a fate she is determined to rewrite.
When an unexpected turn of events forces her back to Cerithia, it comes with a new to eliminate the Crimson bloodline. Yet, everything shifts on the battlefield when Thea meets Cassius. His teasing words and commanding presence stir something deep within her—she realizes she’s found what was missing.
With her prophecy still incomplete and her curse unbroken, Thea unearths dangerous truths that shift the course of her destiny. Can she embrace the will of the gods and rise as an unstoppable force, crumbling kingdoms and killing kings to claim her fate? Or will the secrets she now guards reshape the fates of both her and Cassius?
1000/100. Amazing ending, amazing story, AMAZING KARMA. This was the perfect ending to Cassius and Thea’s story (although I do hope to see a glimpse of them next year😌). After 8 years of longing, despair, and loss of hope a happy ending finally shines through. With Thea going to Cerithia after exile initially I was worried that the curse would continue but we all know that Thea just can’t resist her husband. After realizing the family she thought she was freeing from exile were lost souls waiting for her to break the curse (I cried tyvm) I’m happy that Thea was able to find more family within her mothers coven. Luren and Jesper can rot with the rest of the trash from cerithia and I hope they suffer in the afterlife more than Thea made them suffer while dying. I can’t wait to see if they’re involved in later storylines especially to see them handle their future children if they’re anything like their parents.

I had the amazing opportunity to ARC read for Shay since the beginning, for Secrets and Curses of Exile, Cerithia, and now Crimson.
It’s been such a pleasure following Shay’s journey as an Indie author and watching how Thea’s story unfold in real time.
I felt the feelings Thea felt within the trilogy. I shared her frustrations and her longing for freedom. Her worries and her anger are imbedded in my mind. Shay made a great collection of characters and the world they lived in is filled with memories I’ll never forget!
Since the beginning, the world building was beautifully crafted, from the map itself to the descriptions of the land we walk through.
The story flows so well between the trilogy, I felt like I was watching a movie. There were no inconsistencies and I commend Shay for that! The attention to detail is something that can be overlooked from even the smallest of details, but I had yet to find one within Shay’s work!
Absolutely amazing.
Secrets and Curses and Crimson is the epitome of positive karma and such an amazing closing of Thea’s life.
Thea will not be forgotten. And her story will live on!
Why was this a 3 book series? Not a terrible plot, set of characters or storytelling but it was so unnecessarily long. Don't get me wrong, I like the author's writing style just not the long story approach.
This has been a rollercoaster and what a ride it was.
This is the final part and concludes Thea and Cassius' story. Thea finally breaks her curse and with it she also discovers a secret about Exile that breaks her heart. She swears vengence for herself and for everyone she loves. All the while she has to keep hidden that she broke her curse and tries to save Cassius. Luren, Jesper and everyone who has ever hurt her or the people she cares about will get what was coming to them.
I loved every book and the ending of the first two had me mindlessly staring at a wall. This one ended on a much happier note, i was smiling all through the last chapter.

What a fantastic ending to the trilogy! I got this beauty as an ARC and just now got to it and I wish I would have read it sooner. Thea & Cassius finally getting their HEA made my heart happy. As gruesome as it was, her vengeance was absolutely fucking deserved. It still was rough reading how much shit Thea had to go through just to get to their ending, but it was so worth it. Shay Taylor is an amazing writer and I can’t wait for more. Off to start Secrets & Curses of Fate 😍😍🤭🤭
I had the honor of arc reading the last book in the secrets & curses trilogy. Thank you Shay ♥️
Now where do I start… this book is the perfect ending to Thea and Cassius’ love story. I literally don’t have words. It quelled all my revengeful feelings towards certain people (iykyk), broke my heart a couple times more and soothed my pain. The ending of the book is perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing. It had me on the edge of my seat, gasping the loudest gaps and talking to my cat like a crazy person, it is THAT good.
This trilogy is without a doubt one of my favorite book series.
So far my favorite book of this series! One minute I was laughing the next I was tearing up and continuously gasping at all the twists and turns - SO GOOD. I had so many highlights and notes throughout, and wow what an ending to this trilogy!
What a fantastic ending to this trilogy. Happy to know there is a connected book or series on the way.
I absolutely loved this trilogy from start to finish. I read the first two books in a matter of days before realizing the third was yet to be released. Literally marked it on my calendar and stalked Shay Taylor’s social media for release information. The ending of the second book left me completely devastated in the best way possible and the third book is everything I needed to feel satisfied. I was so scared that the ending would pull an Allegiant (IYKYK, thanks for the trust issues Roth), but it tied up in the most beautiful bow.
This whole series has such a unique magic system and the world building is very easy to follow. The names of places and people weren’t so out there that you couldn’t pronounce them. It’s so fast paced, the banter is ✨wonderful✨, and the spice is spicing. Highly, highly recommend.

Secrets & Curses of Crimson is the final book in the Secrets & Curses trilogy.
Thea continues to struggle with her curse, but this time seems different. She learns of new secrets about her time in Exile that breaks her heart and finds another piece of her family. Meanwhile, Cassius is, quite frankly, trying not to lose his shit and doing a poor job at it 😂
This final book did a great job of wrapping up Thea and Cassius' journey in securing their own fate and destroying anyone who tries to stop them. I thought that we had gotten all of the background info in book 1 and 2, but there were still moments in this book that I gasped with the plot twists and foreshadowing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was a balanced blend of fantasy, plot, and romance that keeps you drawn in and won't let you rest until you finish it.
Thr book is a strong conclusion to the trilogy. Thea’s character growth is well done, and the story keeps you engaged with a mix of romance, magic, and adventure. Cassius’s return adds some great tension, and the world-building is immersive. Some plot twists were a bit predictable, but overall, it’s a satisfying and enjoyable read. If you like fantasy with emotional depth, this series is worth picking up.
Was a bit disappointed with this one, to me it did not match the same vibes as the first 2 books in the series. The fmc and the mmc were both acting kinda dumb and most of the chapters were rushed and choppy. This also included the random side plot which kinda ruined it for me. I did like the small plot twist with Thea’s mother and the secret with Jesper. The ending was cute and I’m glad that Thea finally got her revenge, just ending with the fight of Thea saving Cassius did not make sense. Otherwise the whole series was really good and one of my favorites, just wish this one was a bit different and better.
Thea is back in Exile, without her memories.. back to the beginning to try again. Della found out her brother was sabotaging Thea and Cassius each time Thea tried to break her curse, so Della makes an exchange that ensures her brother won’t interfere this time. Thea feels different this time, and she seems a lot quicker to know who she can and can’t trust.. But will it be enough to finally break her curse.
OMG.. Shay has absolutely SMASHED this series!! I was unable to stop thinking about this book and everything that was happening. The story is so well written and draws you in from the very first page. You can imagine everything in your mind, so clearly!
I was a bit concerned this book may have been repetitive since it was like going back to the beginning, but how wrong was I! I was constantly on the edge of my seat reading this story!
It has the perfect balance of romance, friendship, enemies, fighting.. and did I mention how graphic the fight scenes can get 🫢🫣
Thea and Cassius have a part of my soul, the things Cassius says, literally had me reevaluating the whole male species and if they’re even necessary because none can compare to this man, how he treats Thea and the things he says 😍🥹
Honestly I am slightly anxious and excited about Della’s story because I really want to read about her and Haden, but Shay loves to break you into a million little pieces with her writing 🙈😂 I’m talking emotional damage!!👀
The only thing I wish is that there was a summary somewhere for her books! There is quite a lot going on, so by the time I was reading this story, I forgot some parts of book 2. For example, her mums letter, Della’s story, why her brother was mad, etc. When these got mentioned, I then really had to try and remember what happened and I’ve a head like a sieve 🙈 a little summary on the main points would have been great 🙌🏼
I seriously can’t believe it FINALLY happened. This book was very much well worth the wait. Thea… oh my goodness Thea. I am so happy with how she has grown throughout this series. I think her dark side is my absolute favorite. I should have known my the foreshadowing about Jesper and Luren. THANK YOU! You dang QUEEN for how this book ended. Cassius and Thea absolutely deserve each other. The fact that they NEVER gave up on each other throughout this book had me glued to this story. From how this series started to now I am so thankful that I was able to read this entire series as ARC reads. I loved watching the author grow as a writer and building on Thea and Cassius’ story. I loved both of them throughout every single book. & I could literally listen (picturing how his voice sounds in my head) to him say little viper every second of every day. I literally cried at the end of this book because I was so freaking happy and relieved by the ending. I loved seeing the very dark side of Thea and all of that blood and gore. She was finally able to do as she pleased! I also really enjoyed how we got more of a back story on the gods and how they played into this story. I cannot wait for my soul to take. I really enjoyed meeting Della throughout this book and I cannot wait to see where My Soul to Take takes things. I am so thankful I was chosen as an ARC reader. This book is easily in my top 5 for the year.

Enjoyed the plot, but the pacing was so fast and events were so convenient that it just became a this happened then this happened. Didn’t really get a moment to process because it was just rushed and convenient. Sometimes I question why the events or characters couldn’t have been done earlier, or they could’ve explained certain things in past books to move it along (finding mom’s letter to be a blood witch). Due to that, some things got repetitive. Main ex: prophecy said Thea couldn’t kill kings until she broke her curse, but she could’ve honestly just killed her father and family way earlier. Nothing was protecting them aside from her taking too long and being manipulated from having no memories. Even when she remembered, she could’ve used the convenient blood witch methods she suddenly got, in her favor, but didn’t.
Even now, it felt too easy how Haden hated Thea and tried to sabotage her but after being assigned by Cassius to protect her, he went to their side and they’re all best friends. I didn’t see the relationship development for many, so that made it harder to connect with things.
If there is one wish I could be granted, I would want a love like Cassius'. This is the kind of love that is earth shattering and life altering!
What a way to go! After every hurdle, twists and turns and secrets told, another obstacle of a mountain made it seem like HEA was so out of reach.
This was a painful journey. Both Thea and Cassius had such a torturous path just to reach their happy ending. Some truths were more painful than others. The trail of destruction seemed neverending. But an ending they did reach and it almost feels like everyone is holding their breath because it's hard to believe they overcame it all.
The side characters did not disappoint. Their hurt, pain, love, happiness and betrayal were just as important and impactful as the main characters. Della and Haden's story is one I look forward to and dread at the same time. The twins were a hard truth to accept.
This series will hold a special place in my heart. It was worth every jagged and painful breath.
If dark fantasy romance is your thing, this is a series to pick up.
I loved Thea is this book! She turned into such a great character but it did take us 3 books to get here and I didn’t really understand the shift between weak book 2 and strong book 3 Thea with nothing but a death happening? Which has happened for the past 8 years?
I found there are a lot of plot holes in this book which then sometimes randomly fix themselves or had a super quick explanation? But then some are completely left?
I think Thea can collect powers? But she only collects about 5 and one of them is mind reading and illusion which she never uses? I feel like if she read the minds of people round her more, 60% of the book wouldn’t be needed.
If I heard one more side character say how much our MMC loves the FMC I might have combusted. I do think it’s cute when it’s used a couple times, but every single side character would bring up how great Cassius is and it just got repetitive.
I really appreciated the exile reveal - that was good but I just couldn’t get past the plot holes in the story ☹️
Super fun read though and glad I read it ❤️

Honestly, one of the best completed series I’ve read in a while! I flew through these books in a matter of days!
I was concerned after book 2’s ending that we pretty much were going to start over from scratch again but I liked the path book 3 took and the meaning behind Thea finally taking a different path from her previous 7 years.
This book gave me all the feels. Happy, giddy, 🥵🥵🥵, heartbroken, you name it! One of the final parts of the book broke me down into tears! (If you know you know).
The spice!!! Omg, an author not afraid of some good and multiple spicy scenes! I know some people would say it’s too much or doesn’t fit the story but for me it did. It kind of took me back to how my husband and I were when we first started dating. Couldn’t keep our hands off each other! And that is how it is for young and passionate love!
I’m eager to see the new spin off of Haden and Della. I’m very intrigued by their story and want to see Haden’s character especially expanded upon.
I want to first say a HUGE THANK YOU to Shay for allowing me to be a ARC reader for all three of these books. I have never fallen so hard and quickly for a series in my life! The speed at which I dropped my current read to read this is unbelievable and something I would never normally do but I just had to know what happened. I absolutely love this series and all the twists, turns and roundabouts that happened. Thea is a absolute BADASS and one of the best FMC's I have read in a long time. The magic is these books are so interesting and the magic that Thea learns she has throughout her journey is amazing. This is definitely how ending to series should be. Everything gets explained, there are no plot holes, no leaving you guessing and the characters get exactly what they deserve good or bad! Cassius and Thea earned that ending through and through. I can't wait to read her next book: My soul to Take! I just know that it will be just as amazing as this series!
Such a phenomenal ending to Thea and Cassius’ story. Thea might be one of the best FMCs I’ve read in a very long time. I absolutely loved that she finally got her vengeance and the author let her be unhinged when it happened. After everything that was done to her, I was happily cheering her on (not quite sure what that says about me, lol 😬). Cassius was fantastic, and definitely high on my list of favorite shadow daddies. While everyone else wanted to control Thea for their own agenda, he simply wanted to let her be her. I thoroughly enjoyed the magic system and how Thea could absorb different types of magic to use to her advantage. Not sure if there is such a thing as a shadow mama, but I loved that Thea learned to use Cassius’s shadows to fight and save herself as well as those she loved. I can’t wait for Della and Haden’s story to be out next month. I hope Della finally gets her happy love story. 🤞

What to expect: ✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Betrayal & Treason ✔️ Rich vs Poor ✔️ Curses & Prophecy ✔️ Found Family ✔️ Fated Mates ✔️ Forbidden Magic ✔️ Powerful FMC ✔️ Flirty MMC
Thea and Cassius’s story comes to an epic conclusion in this final chapter of their trilogy. After the shocking ending at the end of book 2, everything in Thea’s life has once again been reset, and her memories cleared. But this time, things are different. Della has arranged with her brother to stop his meddling with Thea & Cassius. Will this finally be the year that Thea figures everything out and breaks the curse, or will she again fall victim to her family’s hatred and scheming?
I loved the glimpses into Della and Hayden and why he has such hatred for her. It makes me feel so sad for her. I can’t wait to read their story in Secrets & Curses of Fate.
I am giving Secrets & Curses of Crimson a rating of 4.5 / 5 stars.
In the final addition to the series we continue where we left off. Thea has to (yet again) find her way back. Her so called family offer her nothing more than the bare minimum information leaving Thea to decide friend from foe. Shay did a great job of portraying Thea’s conflicting emotions and when she did finally decide which way to go, Thea certainly did with a bang! I love her tenacity and all out violence, she does not hold back and will fight to the end to protect what is hers. I continue to adore Cassisus. He is the perfect mix of gentleman mixed in with touch her and I will unalive you vibes. Along with some moments that truly made me blush! I was so lucky to have received an ARC copy of this book which I devoured. I highly recommend this series, I am a Romantasy lover and this has to be one of my all time favourites.
Secrets & Curses of Crimson by Shay Taylor is, without a doubt, the crowning jewel of this incredible trilogy. The love story between Cassius and Thea pulls at your heartstrings in the most visceral way, making you root for them with every fiber of your being. The plot twists were relentless, keeping me on the edge of my seat, and the ending was nothing short of mind-blowing—a truly satisfying conclusion that exceeded all my expectations.
I was initially worried that Book 3 might feel repetitive or struggle to differentiate itself from the first installment, but Shay Taylor tackled this challenge with remarkable finesse, delivering a fresh and compelling narrative that captivated me from start to finish. Now, all that’s left is to hope for a story centered on Della and Haden to come along soon!
It was an honor to be able to read this book as an arc read. I have enjoyed this series so much and thank you to Shay for writing such an incredible trilogy. This book has many games and trials within the series and lots of banter between the main love interests. I loved the ending of this book and how it wraps up Thea and Cassius' love story, finally allowing them to get the ending they deserve after they have been through so much in each book and the pain each of them has suffered. This book kept me on edge trying to figure out what was coming next and I read it in close to one sitting I was so interested. This series is one of my favorites right now and would definitely be worth giving a try!
Infinity Star series!!! Shay has done it again; another 5 star read for me! I loved Thea's and Cassius relationship in this book so much. While reading this book, I was so drawn in that it was almost like I was in the world as character watching it all play out.
One of my new favorite characters in this book is Della;she is just amazing! My heart hurts for her. Can't wait to read more on her.
There were so many parts in this book that I laughed, scowled, sighed, held my breath, and cried.
I love this series so much!! It has my heart. The series as a whole for me gets Infinity stars from me; I will always think about and remember this series! And will probably also reread it many times over😊❤️
Thank you for the great privilege of receiving and reviewing an e-ARC of Secrets & Curses of Crimson🥰
Secrets & Curses of Crimson by Shay Taylor delivers a compelling blend of mystery, intrigue, and detailed character exploration. The narrative is well-paced, combining suspenseful moments with reflective interludes that add depth to the story. The world-building is vivid, and the plot is skillfully crafted to keep readers engaged. With its blend of tension and atmosphere, this book is a strong choice for those who enjoy stories with elements of the supernatural and a gripping storyline.
Just as amazing as the first two books! Shay is definitely becoming one of my favorite writers.
*I was an ARC reader for this book and I give my rating honestly and earnestly. You won't regret giving this a chance.
THIS WAS THE ENDING WE NEEDED! Shay has done it again, and this being my first book of 2025 makes it even better. I laughed. I cried. I was furious. I fell in love, and my heart was broken only to be fully healed once more!
This series needs to be talked about way more than it is! Shay Taylor is sooooo under-hyped, and that needs to change IMMEDIATELY! Cassius is the Book Boyfriend... no... Book Husband we all want and need in life and Thea is the most bada** FMC I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.
Seeing that there is going to be a spin-off about Hayden and Della has me giddy as hell and I am PRAYING to be on that ARC team!
Gahhhhhh, this trilogy is so damn close to perfect. I’m giving the series as a whole a 4.5⭐️ rating bc it was just everything I could want. True enemies to lovers, fated mates, found family, that slooooooow burn, some spice, all the feels (seriously, this series ripped my heart out so many times), and a true badass FMC (that last arena scene in the final book was a fucking masterpiece 👏🏻👏🏻).
I think if the author had this entire series professionally edited that it would easily become one of those series that everyone raves about. There aren’t many grammatical errors, but I definitely think there’s a lot that could be tightened up/flushed out. But even if she doesn’t get an editor, Shay Taylor just became an auto buy author for me.
What an ending to another absolute masterclass by Shay Taylor!
Thea and Cassius are simply amazing in every sense of the word — powerful as individuals, and completely unstoppable together. They make the perfect duo. Their chemistry gave me the same heart-racing feeling as Xaden and Violet from Fourth Wing and Rhysand and Feyre from ACOTAR — and honestly, need I say more?
I loved the slow, steady build-up throughout the story — the uncertainty, the tension, the constant wondering whether Thea would make it, and which side she would ultimately choose. Shay Taylor kept me hooked until the very last page. And let me just say... that final chapter? Pure bliss.
Absolutely amazing work once again. Shay Taylor, you are incredible. 5/5 stars — exactly as expected!
I’m honestly at a loss for words after finishing this book and that doesn’t happen often. From start to finish, the intensity never let up. Every chapter hit harder than the last, pulling me deeper into the story until I couldn’t think about anything else.
The emotions were raw, the stakes felt real, and the tension kept me completely on edge. I found myself holding my breath, racing through pages, and then just sitting there afterward trying to process everything. It’s the kind of book that floors you not just because of the twists and action, but because of how deeply it makes you feel.
This story didn’t just entertain me; it wrecked me in the best way. If you’re looking for something powerful, gripping, and unforgettable, this one absolutely delivers.
