Nothin' But Sugar: A Holiday Cozy

Rate this book
Bellamy Wilson never imagined she'd be flying back to Michigan for the holidays with a broken dream and an empty bank account. Her once-bright LA aspirations have fizzled out, leaving her to navigate the frosty streets of her small hometown. Returning a failure was never in her plans.

Back in her sister’s cozy bakery, Bellamy is swept up in the whirlwind of the holiday rush. With sugar, flour, and more than a sprinkle of holiday magic, she finds herself rekindling bonds with her two older siblings and rediscovering the charm of small-town traditions.

But it’s not just the holiday spirit that’s warming Bellamy’s heart. Her high school crush, now more captivating than ever, keeps crossing her path, sparking old feelings and new possibilities.

When the local TV station announces a holiday contest, late nights and early mornings at the bakery become even more enchanting. As she pours her heart into the festivities, Bellamy starts to see herself in a new light.

"Nothin' But Sugar" is a heartwarming tale about rediscovering the magic of family, love, and finding where you truly belong. Perfect for cozying up with a cup of hot cocoa by the fire, this sweet and clean romance is all sugar and no spice.

This story had a family and down home feel throughout. Great description of their beautiful and natural home in the upper midwest of the States. No wonder why Luke, male main character is handsome and kind, plus always willing to help out, won't leave this area and has an outdoor job here.

Female lead character is just as kind and giving, although pushing herself as she judges herself harshly for losing her job in LA; although doing nothing, just dealing with a miserable and demanding boss with only her needs in her sight. Bellamy's siblings a brother Adrean and sister, Clare live here with family and their mother rounding out the family story.

Enjoyed the baking competition and the play that Bellamy helped her niece out of emergencies to keep the play alive and well and performances as scheduled. Nice amount of drama with the above mentioned with family as the base for this story.

If you’re in the mood for a cute holiday romance, this is the book for you! Just when it seems life is falling apart for Bellamy, she goes home and finds hope and a lot more than she expected. It’s amazing what time around loved ones and a new perspective on life can bring!
I wish it was longer and showed more into the relationship of Bells and Luke, but as a quick read it puts you into all the cutesy emotions.

Nothin' but Sugar is a romantic novel by Cass Kim. Although this is a wonderful romance, it is equally a story about strong and loving family. Bellamy left her small town for the lights and glamour of Los Angeles, California. Emotionally broken and financially strapped, Bellamy returns to her family and small town USA. This excellent story follows Bellamy as she embraces family and Luke. I think this is a terrific holiday book. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

After hitting rock bottom and losing her job, Bellamy moves in with her sister Clare. Along the way she forms a strong bond with her family once again and finds love.

This was so cute! It’s short, sweet, and interesting.

I highly recommend this book if you love reading Christmas themed books with some romance and families reconnecting!

I almost put this book down mid-1st chapter but I am so glad I did not. Nothin' But Sugar is so much more than a holiday romance book, it is a heartfelt family reconnection story. As the oldest sister who lives long distance from family, I felt so many connections in this story.

After an unexpected career event, Bellamy temporarily goes home to her small town to get back on her feet. She does not expect how the time with family will impact her life and change what she wants out of life. This was such a great story about family relationships, and how we come together to help each other regardless of the situations.
