The matchmaking mothers of Wild Rose Ridge are up to their knitting needles in mischief. But they'd never resort to vandalism to make a match. Or would they?
Being shy has hindered Olivia Lewis all her life, but opportunity knocks with a fresh start in a small lakeside town managing her aunt's yarn shop, Hooked On Ewe. Her only friends are a senior citizen group of bird watchers.
Firefighter Wyatt Simms sees a pretty, new face on a routine fire inspection, and he's instantly smitten. Olivia is nothing like the uniform-chasing women he's used to fending off. Too bad he has to give her a citation for fire code violations!
When Plain-Jane Olivia catches the eye of a charismatic local firefighter, she isn't sure how to react. Men don't usually look twice at her. Certainly not the handsome ones.
Tipped off by a Meddling Mama, Wyatt signs up for a knitting class to spend time with Olivia. He brings his dog along to break the ice.
Olivia falls in love with the dog, but will she find the courage to fall for the firefighter?
Dalyn, you did a great job in creating this fantastic read of Olivia's and Wyatt's journey toward their love ever after with some ups and downs. The storyline is intriguing and heartfelt along with increditable characters. It is also a page turner read.
What a sweet inspirational story. Wonderful characters, page-turner, and humorous. I enjoyed this book with learning lessons of being who you are on the inside by God's design and not changing to the world’s standards. I received a complementary ebook for an honest answer. I recommend this book.
Olivia is an old soul. She works for her aunt Millie at Hooked on Ewe and goes birding with the elderly Birding Betties. She wears baggy clothes and glasses. How will she ever find a man who would care about her? But firefighter Wyatt looks beyond the glasses and baggy clothes. He might not even mind some help from the Meddling Mothers. Fun story in Wild Rose Ridge!
Hooked on Ewe made me laugh, cry, smile, and want more. Weller is one of my favorite authors. Her humor is infectious. Her stories and characters stick with me for months. This story was so much fun!
I really enjoyed the shenanigans that the old biddies pulled off again. This time it was Wyatt from one of the neighboring vineyards and Olivia, a sometime visitor who now is a resident. Finding their love is helped by an old rhyme and some Christmas spirit!
This was absolutely a great book and by a great author. I highly recommend this book and author. I can’t wait to read the next book by this wonderful author.
Loved this different but sweet story of a shy h and a handsome H firefighter who sees the h for who she is. The h’s aunt who owns the yarn shop where the h is working arranges with her matching making friends to bring the h and H together when the store has its fire inspection. They fix things so that they fail the shops inspection. The H notices the h immediately and when she is so upset about the failed inspection he returns to comfort her and tells he will come back the next day to help make the changes necessary to pass inspection. The h though shy is very thoughtful of others helping others when and where she can. Due to her mother and her shyness she has a poor self image. The H sees not just her shyness but also her beauty. He asks her to go out and in spite of the kidding he receives from his fellow fighters continues to take her out. He even signs up for knitting lessons so he can be near her and get to know her more. In spite of everything and everyone their relationship grows and the H in front of the town asks her to be his official girlfriend. In the end they get engaged and find their HEA. Recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet but with drawn h and a loving giving H. Enjoy your reading.
