It’s sick. It’s twisted. It’s so fucking wrong.
And I don’t care.

Hmm. I don’t think I care either.
This taboo erotic romance between brothers was exactly that.
Filthy, wrong, sexy, forbidden.

“Shh, little brother. Be a good boy and take it.”

Great as a little mini taste of incest, but lacked a bit of plot, a bit of depth.
The sex was also very very rough, and had me cringing more than drooling.
Overall, fun and kind of hot, but not great.

4 ⭐️ This was a very spicy, very taboo short story, and I loved it! It was just the right length for this story (even tho I think the main story could have worked for a novel as well) and I really liked the characters. I'm very much looking forward to read more taboo-stories by B. L. Sparrow, and hopefully some novels with the same taboo, spice and drama as we got to experience with Release. A great, short read for everyone who loves all things taboo!

Ordered a physical copy as it is a taboo book. And yes it is 🩸 related. Love the authors other work. Gave it a shot
They did not disappoint. I understand the nature of the book can be very off putting for a lot of people and if so then don’t read, I am the first to say don’t yuck on anyone’s yum.
This story features a lot of religious trauma as well as parental abuse in past physical as well as emotional. It is very well handled for as short as it is.

I’m honestly dying to know what Levi went to jail for. Idk if that was ever mentioned.

Anywho. These two start up a relationship under the strict and watchful eye of Mama. And Jesus. Lots of religious tones and trauma in this one. It makes me sad that people ACTUALLY experience this. It’s disgusting.

This one honestly wasn’t my favorite. Still four star worthy though.

Lube must have been considered a sin in that house, because nary a drop was to be found. Or used.

This was sooooo close to being what I wanted, it just spent too much time on the pining and forbidden-ness and push and pull of the relationship. I wish we saw more of the sweetness and love between Joah and Levi (especially Levi being sweet to Joah) instead of just the tension and spice with a little sweetness sprinkled in. But still enjoyable and well-written overall!

🚨Extremely taboo adult subject matter, as with the other BL Sparrow works I’ve reviewed. Explicit sexual content between two brothers, abusive parents including religious abuse, and behavior a lot of people would consider religious desecration. Absolutely not for everyone.🚨

As is also true of the other Sparrow works I’ve read, taking this novella for what it is, it’s very well written and executed. I believed the feelings and progression of the relationship between the MCs, and I felt for their situation. Believing their feelings is key for me; if something feels like I’m reading taboo porn without any authentic feelings or insight into the participants, that’s where it gets too weird to be enjoyable for me (no judgment at all if you feel otherwise, in either direction).

OMG BL Sparrow has become one of my fav authors. She writes spice/smut so good and adds a plot as well. This book was so good. Spicy, taboo, and kinky. It also had some good troupes like hurt/comfort, gay awakening, and religious trauma. I loved how these two brothers got together at first. Their chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The mouth on Levi was 🥵🥵. I wish she had more books out and longer books!
