I would have posted this earlier but I had trouble finding the citation references for this book. I first saw Klimt’s work last year at the “Secessions” exhibition in Berlin. I was unaware of this line of work and it was memorable. We went back this year but to Vienna rather than Berlin. In Vienna, Klimt is a big draw and the museum to go to is the Belvedere, which has an entire area devoted to Klimt - for which reservations are needed - it was crowded.

At the Belvedere, rather than a simple short pamphlet with notes on the collection, this book was on offer. It is much nicer than typical museum programs and is a well done volume, with lots of high quality reproductions of Klimt works and a fairly rich narrative. Full collections of Klimt’s works are available but are more expensive (and heavier - if one is flying). This volume is a good beginning as a Klimt souvenir.
