Halloween.
My favorite time of the year and the largest corn maze is on my to-do list. Once I enter the maze, the shadows start moving. As I run through the stalks, tentacles grab me and I keep running into the same demon working the corn maze. In the lowlight of dusk, it seems like the shadows meander off his chiseled and hunky body. Maybe it's his costume, maybe it's the planes of his abs. I can't get him out of my head. He seems to invade my dreams and with them comes the shadows that crawl up my body ensuring more and more pleasure.

Every day, I find myself back at the maze being chased by the tentacles and the shadowy monster of my dreams. I want more; I need more.
*Can I keep the monster and all his devious tentacles?*

Working at the haunted corn maze is a great way to feed. I didn't plan to meet my fated mate. The blast of her light blinds me at first until I see her gorgeous body. My shadows follow and touch her. At night, I invade her dreams to find out more of her and figure out how I will woo the human before the fall season is over.

Will she accept the monster I am?

This was so confusing. I can't decide if this was written by a sleepless/ drunk person, or just a person that couldn't remember what they just wrote or AI.
It was very touch and go if the FMC saw the monsters for what they were or not and if she was special or not.
And the spicy times fell flat.

Was it just me, or..?

Was it just me or was everyone else confused by speaking parts? I had to constantly go back to the beginning of the chapters and figure out which pov I was supposed to be on, and then figured out I’m pretty sure it’s wrong. I felt like there was quite a bit of mistakes in that regard. Dual POV isn’t for everyone and I felt like this author struggled with it. It is a short spicy book for Halloween and I almost dnf-ed it bc of how confusing it was in the beginning with dual POVs.

Trilnil is working in the Haunted Corn Maze when he envied Rosabel

Rosabel isn't frightened by the large figure in black with horns and shadow tendrils. She's stressed about money and knows something is off about Tril. When he enters her dream she quite enjoys herself and wants more tendrils action. Rosabel isn't frightened about the whole he's a monster and not but off a bit by his true appearance. Book could have used a proofreading though. Lots of mistakes that took me out of the story.

Now, I do love myself a good monster romance, and a shadow monster with shadow tentacles was such a fun concept. I approve! Oh, and there’s even a chase through a corn maze, which added some nice Halloween vibes. Double approval!

But where to even start with this one? I was so often confused about who was speaking, was it our monster or our FMC? The conversations were all over the place, to the point where I genuinely wondered if the characters were supposed to be drunk. At one point, one of them even mentions how their conversation keeps jumping topics… so I guess it was intentional? Still, it felt a bit too chaotic and could’ve used more structure or flow.

The spicy scenes definitely had potential (I mean… shadow tentacles?!), but that same disjointed dialogue carried over into them, which made the pacing feel a little off. That said, I still found the story intriguing enough to finish it quickly, and even debated picking up another book in the "Monstrous Mistakes" series (each one written by a different author).

Overall, the story could have really benefited from another round of editing for flow and to clean up the typos, but the concept itself was creative and unique enough to keep my attention.

Also… I’ve asked this before, but apparently no one’s come through for me yet. So I'll ask again. Where can I find a real live monster who can change the shape, size, and, well, everything about his peen? Asking for a friend. 👀

Gleeful Goblin Review: I hadn't read a monster romance quite like this before and I'm thrilled now that I have. What an absolutely stellar idea as a monster to work at a "haunted corn maze"! Talk about fish in a barrel right? I love that Trill feeds off most people in a very harmless way unless they are or do something to earn a harsher treatment by Trill. That's part of what makes his fascination with Rosabel so interesting is the literal and figurative chase. They have excellent banter, sizzling chemistry, and it's delightful to watch Rosabel change her perspective on the possibility of the paranormal being real: "He couldn’t be human. I had denied myself the thoughts for so long, but there was no way his tongue could have a prosthetic. Why would someone do that for a haunted corn maze in the sticks? Whatever he was, he wasn’t human because humans didn’t have ridged tongues." 5/5 Stars.

Rosabel is off to the Halloween maze, taking an Uber since her car is in the shop. She doesn't expect what she finds in the maze. There be monsters in the maze & she finds herself running from one & straight to another! She feels drawn to Tril & his shadows, but doesn't understand why.
Tril has just found his LightMate & he intends to keep her. He just needs to make sure she wont run from him like she did his friend. Offering her a ride home is a start, taking care of her car is another. Learning everything about her through her dreams is his plan.
This was a fun, fast story to read & it was spicy & entertaining. Enjoy!

This is a paranormal, spicy Halloween romance. Rosabel loves all things Halloween-related. While going through a corn maze, she sees shadowy tentacles coming out of the corn, and they grasp her legs. Trinil feeds off the emotions of humans, but that night, he didn't expect to meet his fated mate face-to-face. The plot is light, and it has little drama (which I like :) ) and some scariness, but mainly spicy scary. I enjoyed this book, and it is a fun Halloween read!

Spooky and Steamy

Rosabel heads into the Halloween maze, looking for a fun time. Tril works in the maze, scaring patrons, hiding as a monster in plan site. He’s immediately attracted to her, while she is intrigued, however these two dance around each other and the truth for quite a while. I enjoyed this short n steamy read, and I’m a huge fan of shadow tentacles, so taboo and dangerous. A great read.

This was a fun quick Halloween monster romance. I liked both Rosabel and Trilnil. It was amusing to me Tril could groupchat his monster friends. I liked that Rosa could sense past what was visible. They danced around each other and hinted things without admitting them. It was cute, but the characters didn't particularly drawn me in. 3 stars.

Short and steamy, spooky season read free from Kindle Unlimited. Considering it was pretty short, it was still a decent storyline. I liked Trill enough and especially thought it was funny when he employed the group monster chat to get outside opinions. Spicy scenes were solid. Wish there had been a little more explaining into the world building and the monster he was himself but what do you expect from a 75 page novella?

This is book 9 monstrous mistake starring Rosabel and Trilnil. These two first meet and the fun starts I have to say I loved all the kinky ideas Rosabel had where Trilnil was concerned. I loved how this story started off with uncertainty and ends with the hottest monster to take care of Rosabel.

This was another fun and hot read for the series and I loved seeing Rosabel and Trilnil find their way together. He's a shadow demon and finds his mate, 'lightmate', in Rosabel. Expect a naughty and entertaining Halloween romance when you dive into this one. It's a great addition to this fun series and another hit by this author. Loved it!

Very short story of a witch and a demon. She doesn't know she's a witch. But she likes the demon a lot.

Spicy, male female, monster/pnr (shadow creature!), contemporary romance novella. Super quick fun read for Halloween. Could use another lookover by an editor but still readable. LOVE a shadow male lead with tentacles. Right now I'd give it a 3.5 but a few changes it would easily be a 4.
