The Thief of Tides

suck an amazing ocean adventure just loved it

This was such a refreshing change of pace from my usual fantasy. If you adore pirates, magic, adventure, the morally grey, some delicious wlw pining, mythological creatures and gods, then you’ll love this.. The world is woven so effortlessly throughout the writing but is very obviously well thought out. The mysterious backstory of our fmc was introduced in such a way that I was so invested to find out the truth from the very start. It was a whole lot of swash buckling dangerous piracy adventure for this enchanted item while being hunted by enemies, denying feelings and keeping secrets. Now the end of the book?!?! It was so vivid, full of heart, and unexpected. I have so many questions and theories!
Now while I did love this, I did have some concerns throughout the story. I didn’t fully understand the motivation for this dangerous mission after a certain point in the story but maybe that’s just me. Some characters that I wished were expanded upon, weren’t. And lastly some choices I just didn’t agree with. In the end though, they were minor things and I still had a damn great time.

I loved this from start to finish! A thrilling adult fantasy (refreshing to see) set in a magical kingdom following a swashbuckling pirate racing against her enemies to find an enchanted object.
I’m also so grateful everytime I read a queer romance, and this one is so beautiful 😍
The writing is excellent, the story super fast paced, and there are twists right up to the final page. I can’t wait to read the rest in the series!

This was a great read especially for being the authors Breakout book!
It was my first Pirate read and if all pirate books are written like this one; I’m in! Can’t wait for the authors next book! Im so excited to see what the characters get up to next.
Each character stood out with such different personalities. I loved that there was someone for everyone in this book. The mythical creatures and lore felt original and left me excited for more!

I loved the characters of this book, and since I dont read many pirate/sea adventure books, this was a nice change from my usual. This book includes a FMC who is a POC and an absolute badass who is a real person. She can get hurt! Includes LGBT+ rep and an array of other characters. I can't wait to see where she takes us in the second book! Im ready to set sail with Louie again!

5 ⭐️ this was a thrilling fantasy with really cool “mythological” creatures from start to finish, I’m so excited to see what happens next for our crew. Some tear jerking moments in this book and the romance?! Loved every page.

I was lucky enough to beta read this and I couldn’t imagine it getting any better at the time but boy I was wrong. I instantly dm’d the author after the last chapter because my flabber was so gasted.
If you love a strong FMC who runs a super sweet ship and kicks major butt, this would be perfect for you. There’s epic adventures and mythical creatures and found family to the moon. Heart is shattered but this book will definitely be a fave of mine.
