NR. I mean this in the best way possible: This was SO much better than I expected! I thought it would be super basic/101 info (think what is IUI vs IVF), but HTMAB was really comprehensive. I loved how Allie and Sam used their fertility journey as a roadmap for explaining different steps and options along the way.

Probably way more information than I needed at this moment, but I will absolutely be revisiting when I’m in this ~chapter of life~ and could see myself giving this to loved ones to catch them up to speed on how things work.

Only critique is I wish Allie and Sam narrated the audiobook themselves! I “know” their voices so well from their content, so it felt weird for a first-person narration to be read by someone other than them.

Also WHAT a reminder of how insane the pre-vaccine pandemic was 🙃

a heartfelt and informative journey that takes you step by step through their fertility experience. humorous and heartbreaking you can't help but be hooked and hopeful for the couple.

I was so excited to read this book, as my spouse and I are beginning the fertility process. Unfortunately, it was more of a personal anecdote than actual impartial information. None of the financial information was relevant to readers outside of Canada and the authors don't have any actual medical expertise, which was quickly apparent. If you want a personal account of loss and how to navigate that experience, I think this book could be helpful. If you want an informed and instructional guide to queer fertility, this isn't the book.

As someone who has been reading many fertility books, this was a breath of fresh air! This book is a mix between information and story telling, of light and heavy. It felt like you were sitting in your living room talking about their first experience and having them share their tips and tricks.

I just loved it!

This was such a wonderful read. It is the perfect balance of informational and emotional storytelling. I read the entire thing in one sitting! I laughed and even cried. It made me excited to start my own journey and also opened my eyes to some questions I hadn’t thought to ask and never would have. This book has really great flow and was easy to read- I would highly recommend!

I had no idea how much it took for Allie and Sam, two healthy young cis women, to make a babi(es)! While there wasn’t a whole lot of art to the narrative, they told their story with transparency and honesty. I enjoyed and I’m grateful their story is out there!

Definitely a good read if you’re just starting in your fertility journey. Covers IUI and IVF with a lot of helpful information. Wish I found this book at the beginning of my journey.

Very raw and real. I just wish they lived in the US! Now time to find a book about IVF experiences in the US for queer couples!!

Quick read about one family's fertility journey. Made me very afraid of IVF, but overall it was nice to read before embarking on any of this
