I received a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Lovebookstours.
Ghosting Academy is the 4th book in this series which I wasn't aware of until I started the book and I do feel that although it is supposed to be a stand alone in the series, reading the earlier 3 books would have made it more understandable and given more depth to the story, so I would recommend reading these books in order.
The story itself is well written and the characters are complex, resilient and well fleshed out. Written as part fantasy, magical and also sci-fi as the main genres, I found I really enjoyed the overlap between these and it made the story more interesting. The book does keep you on your toes and the world it is set in along with the academy itself is dark and trauma filled for those in its existence.
I hope to go back and start this series from the beginning at some point as I did feel parts of the story passed me by having not got the full backstory of the previous 3 books.

I enjoyed it and thought it was a good time. It was a quick read, very fast paced, and short enough to read in one sitting. I think fans of the divergent series would get a kick out of this one.

Ghosting Academy is the fourth book in the Limerent Series by LS Delorme.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series, and I am slightly miffed that it's not a complete series as I need more - there are eight books in this series and I can't believe I'm only halfway through!
I'm glad that I've read the prior three books in the order I did - the prior books have been classed as stand-alone, but you do need to read Amelie's story in Bright Midnights (my favourite book of the four so far).
It would also help to read Caio's story as both are in Ghosting Academy. And there is also a cameo from Victoria and Laslo in Fanning Fireflies!
My attitude towards Caio completely changes between his book and Ghosting Academy. I've gone right off him, but then I thought I disliked Clovis at the end of Bright Midnights too until we find out more about him in Ghosting Academy and now I feel bad!!
This is what Lexy is doing to me, my emotions are all over the place, and nothing appears to be what it seems and this is even more evident in her latest book.
I don't know what to believe or who to trust anymore! Who is a friend, who is working and sleeping with the enemy? what is real!!!!!
You can't read this book on its own! It will come across as bizarre, in my opinion! You need to be invested in Amelie, Clovis, Caio and what's happened to Hudson!!
All is not what it seems in Amelie's world, she's working for "The Academy", she has weapon skills, a found family and a dislike for love but all this has led her down a dark path of working with an incubus, ghosts, virus carriers - and being forced to travel back to what was once her safe space, but is now a nightmare in the form of alternative dimensions and stories controlled by "the game" which has the essence of VR.
The book is intense, a lot is going on, some will question the character's morals, and some touch on darker subjects but it all leaves you wanting even more. It's hard to give a review of this book without giving away spoilers, and the way the story is written any spoiler will ruin your experience.
I suggest reading Fanning Fireflies, Bright Midnights and then Caio to bring you to the Ghosting Academy and trust the process.
You won't be disappointed.

This is book 4 of 5 in the Limerent series and although all can be read as standalone stories i would recommend reading book 2 (Bright Midnights) before this one as it gives a fantastic background into the FMC and how she came to be who and where she is.
I absolutely loved this book, thats the place i want to start because it was fast paced, engaging, had amazing world building and the characters were likeable with a great found family trope and I will 100% need to read book 5!
This is a paranormal / contemporary fantasy with so many mysteries to uncover and trials and tribulations throughout i could not put it down.
I read this as part of a readalong but i did cheat a little and read ahead as i needed to know what came next.

This one kicks off with Amelie interviewing new recruits for the academy. The real heart of the story is her pod—her found family. They go on missions, and they have each other’s backs . When Caio joins their pod, everything flips upside down. He’s supposed to expose their talents, but instead he ends up opening up to Amelie in ways she never saw coming.
Then comes Verite—the wild VR like “game” they get thrown into after being gassed. Talk about an intense graduation test (they got gassed)!
This book has incubus, ghosts, creepy viruses that spread through hosts— and some pretty dark themes (so check trigger warnings first).
What I loved most was learning more of Caio. Amelie has grown since losing her significant other. I can wait to see what the next book has in store for us!

It’s safe to say that Lexy is becoming one of my favourite authors! The Ghosting Academy is part of the Limerent series, but could be read as a standalone - I have so far read ‘Bright Midnights’, but hope to have time to read the other 2 yet because I’m loving these so much!
This book is just brilliant, I was absolutely hooked. I love Lexy’s writing style so much, she really knows how to grip you! I LOVED getting to follow Amelie’s story again, although I must admit my heart was broken AGAIN.
I also loved meeting her ‘pod’, I really loved them all too!! I loved the plot and the concept of the game ‘Verite’ was super cool, especially in the age of AI, I love modern technology horror.
I need book 5 ‘Limerence’ now pls.

I knew Caio will be in this book but the moment he appeared in chapter one I got so incredibly happy! I blushed and giggled, I love him more than I even realized.
Ohh, I loved how this book brought together all characters from previous books, Caio, Lazlo, Veronica and Clovis. I loved reconnecting with them, and learning more about the hallway and Caio's past.
I highly recommend reading this series to all urban fantasy lovers! I can't wait to see where the next book will take me. ♡

Enjoyable fantasy. Having read Bright Midnight (read this first if you can, more on that below) I happily jumped into this sequel. What will you find in The Ghosting Academy? Some dark horror, secrets held, secrets revealed, a yearning for a past love and an ‘everything you thought was’ turns out to be false. What do you expect though when your dealing with demons. Amelie is now an elite agent and has been putting her unusual skills to use to aid the Ghosting Academy. Using this to escape the hurts of her past, living on the surface of her given jobs, going through the motions without really thinking things through too much at all. But now she finds herself in a nightmare experience, eyes opened wide. What that really means is that The Ghost Academy better watch out because Amelie is not going down without a fight, and she can really fight! This story is to continue in another book. I can’t wait. For info: There are now four books in this series, some of which I believe are connected but read alone. I haven’t read them all. This is a sequel to book two in sequence. Read that one before this if you can as it will explain a lot of where this story is coming from. Thank you to LS Delorme, LiterallyPR, Limerent Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. This book was pretty good. I had a little trouble reading it only because I really wanted to know what had happened before in the book series.
It’s marked as a standalone interconnected but I think this is better read as a series. I did not read the first three books so I did not understand where some things came in or more who people were they were talked about situations mentioned.
I had to go and read the spoilers so I kind of would understand and I think I’m going to have to go in and do a reread of this when I read the first couple books, but all in all the story itself was very entertaining and the film family was absolutely amazing .
our FMC Amelie and her pod are such a great group of characters. When Caio joins the pod things really get twisted . I mean, our FMC doesn’t really know who she’s working for which seems kind of sketchy, but it’s all she knows. But after their gased and end up in their virtual reality game Verite all bets are off, and our FMC has to face things She never thought she could
all in all if I had read the other books and read this as a series. I think it would’ve been a lot better now because the writing was Amazing 🤩 the story was amazing. The magic system amazing will. I keep reading this series? Yes, definitely

If you enjoy paranormal psychological thrillers, then Ghosting Academy is for you. While I haven't read the three prior books, I felt able to keep pace with the story and its characters, which were all well-defined and complex (loved that). I felt like Ghosting Academy crossed The Hunger Games and The Exorcist to come up with a deeply dark story about a controlling entity dictating a world filled with humans and non-humans they toy with for their own controversial reasons. Readers should be warned you might find some triggers within its pages and, since it is a series, readers are left with an open ending that likely picks up with the next book.
Ghosting Academy is not my typical read, so I struggled with parts of it. That said, Delmore has crafted a suspenseful tale whose twists and turns will keep you guessing what you know about the characters and their world. Dream sequences and in-game experiences bring depth to Amelie's life and keep you rooting for her as she decides whether to stay or go. Though this novel stands alone, I suggest starting with the first book in the series to reap the most understanding of these characters and how things have gotten to this point.

Ghosting Academy was such an unusual read, and I mean that in the best possible way. It mixes paranormal fantasy, psychological thriller and sci-fi elements into something dark, strange and completely unpredictable.
The story follows Amelie, an elite agent of the Academy who has spent years using her abilities without really questioning the people giving the orders. The Academy has given her stability and a sense of belonging, but there is a much darker side to it. When Amelie and her fellow agents are taken to an isolated island after their “graduation”, things quickly start to unravel. Secrets come to light, loyalties are tested, and suddenly it becomes very difficult to know what or who to trust.
One of the things I enjoyed most was the concept of Verité, a virtual-reality game where time and reality don't behave quite as you'd expect. It gave the story a really unsettling feeling because there were moments when I genuinely wasn't sure what was real. I loved that sense of uncertainty.
Amelie was definitely the character who kept me invested. She's strong and capable, but there is also a vulnerability to her that makes her feel human. I also really liked the relationship she has with her pod.
I will admit there were times when I had to slow down and really concentrate because there is a lot happening. Anyone looking to read adventurously need look no further. In the world of Ghosting Academy, the only limit is your imagination. The book contains elements of horror, sci-fi, paranormal, spy thriller, and romance. For most authors, this hodge-podge would result in a nigh-unreadable patchwork of a book, but LS Delorme’s storycraft is brilliant, and Ghosting Academy is much more than the sum of its genres.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this world, these characters, and the superb balance between complexity and readability. The writing style is so evocative that each time I opened Ghosting Academy I felt like I was sharing one mind with Amelie, the main character. When her heart ached, my own broke. When she was horrified, I felt waves of nausea and dread. Although the second act dragged a bit, the dialogue sometimes fell just shy of natural speech and there were places where the metaphysical thread of events lost me, overall, Ghosting Academy was phenomenal. It was a workout for my brain and heart, leaving me riding high on a wave of literary endorphins.
This latest Delorme is the first installment of a series with three already-published standalones in the Limerence universe that can be read as prequels. Although you can begin with Ghosting Academy, I would strongly recommend reading Bright Midnights, the second standalone. This is where we meet Amelie, see her love story with Clovis, and get introduced to the hallway that redefines reality. It is possible to follow the story without having read Bright Midnights, but having it as a reference point makes for much easier reading in an already cerebral work.

Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better it did! This is going to be a hard one to review without spoilers but I will try my best. I want to say first of all this is the fourth in the series and while it can potentially be read with just reading Bright Midnights I highly recommend reading Caio and Fanning Fireflies because not only do some characters return or make cameo appearances but it helps further build the world and the enjoyment of the novel.
The second thing I want to say is I’m not sure how Lexy manages to combine so many genres so well and create a brilliant series. There is fantasy, sci-fi, horror, mystery and romance all of which works so well. There were some good twists and turns. What I love about this series is how it can be equally dark and deal with difficult themes but Delorme also manages to show the light. So while we might see the worst humanity can offer we also see the best. That said I would remember there are some themes that may be triggering so do take that in to consideration.
If you are looking for the perfect dark fantasy series that touches on sci-fi and fantasy this is for you. The characters are all fantastically written, even the “bad guys” and most, if not all, of the characters are believable. I am so addicted to this series that while I wait I will probably have to reread them all again!

I'm here again, back with the fourth book in The Limerent series and here's a secret (but no surprise, given my schedule this last few months!!) but I'm still yet to catch up with the first book, Caio.
I know, I know - I have been hectic though!
However, after reading book 2, Bright Midnights in June and following this with book 3, Fanning Fireflies in August, I just had to grab this next book with both hands and dive right on in!
Now, up to now, these books have easily read as standalone reads, but in this fourth book, we see some of the characters returning and we see their stories develop further.
I've learned my lesson though as the main character from book 1, Caio, features in this story too and although I followed this thread just fine, I'm annoyed with myself for not catching up first!!
For this reason I'd definitely recommend that you read these in order to be safe....
This story sees Amelie (from Bright Midnights) now, years later, as an elite agent for the Academy.
Having just coasting so far, she and her pod have now been sent to an isolated island to participate in a virtual gaming experience.
Whilst there, things come to light that make Amelie re-think the future.
I'm absolutely loving the series and this book, as the others did, draws us right into the storyline and certainly for me, had me immersed from start to finish.
The pacing is perfect and I love the relatively short book length for this genre.
It means that I'm left wanting more - especially when we're left with a great big gaping chasm of a cliffhanger - almost like some pages got lost in the printing!
This is exciting, shocking and totally gripping from start to finish and I'm promising to read book 1 well before the next release!!
I'm off to get over my frustration at the ending now ...and keeping my fingers crossed that book 5 is on its way soon!!

This was a fascinating, fast-paced read that definitely fell outside my usual genres, but I was hooked by the premise. The Academy trains operatives with incredible abilities and uses them to tilt the world's stage away from corruption and darkness. One seemingly ordinary mission for Amelie spirals into a complex web of secrets, hidden powers, and shifting loyalties.
The writing is packed with information and twists, sometimes to the point where it almost felt a little overwhelming as the plot built on itself. I found myself having to reread a few passages to fully grasp some of the nuances. That said, the pace is relentless, and the story truly kept me guessing!
The characters are what kept me fully invested. I especially loved the dynamic between Amelie and her podmates including Majo, Widget, and James. Their bond felt like a real found family - it was the little taste of emotional grounding that the story needed to balance all the suspense. I also got a real kick out of the little Easter eggs from other Limerent series characters!
While I would have loved a bit more of the romance (which is entirely a personal preference, and not a critique of the book at all), the world and plot were so intriguing that I'm really curious to see what is in the next book.

The one thing you can absolutely except with L.S Delorme's Limerent series is the unexpected! All of the books so far are incredibly different, but you can follow the threads, catch familiar characters, and find Easter eggs. Amelie, Caio, and a few other surprise characters make appearances in this one, and the time is very wobbly wobbly. If you're a time travel fan this is fantastic!!
But it's not for the faint of heart! Neither of these characters is happy or living their best lives when they meet up. But I wouldn't expect that from Delorme. She isn't feeding us romcoms - she's feeding dark, paranormal, urban fantasy and I'm here for it! And dark it is! Wow! I read and sometimes wondering if she challenges herself to get a little darker each time!

Absolutely fantastic book!
This is Book 4 of The Limerent Series, and in this book, we meet some new faces, but also, there are a few old ones popping up too..
Oh my goodness... WHAT A BOOK.
Buckle up because Lexy is going to take you on one heck of a ride...
First up, once again, this new cover artwork is absolutely gorgeous - so dark and foreboding! I currently don't own Caio or Fanning Fireflies, so I will be getting these so I can complete the collection so far.
In Ghosting Academy, Amelie is back... older and in control of who she is, which was fantastic to see. She is also a real bad a$$ which I loved, plus she has a much loved family, a Pod of Academy operatives.
When her Pod graduates, we are thrown in a story that ties the previous 3 books together and allows us to understand what REALLY is happening at the Academy.
What I adore about Lexy's work is how you are never bored, and she constantly keeps you guessing.
She has merged several genres into her own unique sub-genre of dark psychological fantasy and with the fantasy element being urban, you can really emerge yourself into the story as the characters and locations (for the most part!) are relatable.
So many questions were answered in this book, but there are still a few that haven't, so I'm sure Lexy will enjoy taking us on a future rollercoaster ride in Book 5!
There is so much to unpack with this book, and it really makes you think!

There is a lot to the story, romance, drama, paranormality, great pacing to the story, well written, and the characters are well written and engaging. I recommend this one to all fans of YA and adult dark romances! Ghosting Academy is the 4th book in the series and I did read Bright Midnights which is book 2 in the series before this. You should definitely read Bright Midnights, where you learn about Amelie and Clovis' relationship. As I stated previously in another review, both Amelie and Clovis are perfect for each other in Bright Midnights and this book's story picks up after a 3rd book.
In this book Amelie is working at top secret paranormal place The Academy, with people who have supernatural gifts. Amelie is using her past hurts as an agent at the Academy. She is just doing the job and there is an experience that happens in this book that puts Amelie into a difficult situation, and she needs to find out how to fight back. I will not spoil anymore of the book so read this one and Bright Midnights if it sounds interesting to y'all!

The Academy sends her out on missions, using her unique skills to attract people she is able to get close to them and find ways of bringing them down, whichever the Academy requires to seemingly control the spread of evil in the world.
Following a mission that went wrong Amelie and her pod are taken to a remote island where the Academy wants to delve deeper into all their paranormal abilities. It doesn't take long before it all unravels and she begins to see through the truths they've been feeding her and the others. Just what is their game play and how can they get out.
The book has a sprinkle of other characters from the previous books all popping up at various points. Having only read the previous book I have no doubt I missed a few references to some. The story contains Incubus, ghosts and spirits plus some mind bending thoughts on other realities. It ends on a cliffhanger and leaves you reeling with that revelations. Bring on the next installment

Well that was just incredible!
I loved that we have so many characters from the other stories together in this, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them at the different stages in the book. It does also feel like we are ramping up to a phenomenal book five in the series.
There is so much to learn in this book - I really enjoyed getting some info about the academy and what they are up to, they feel like a bit of an enigma at this stage and I want all the answers!! What was also nice is that we get a lot of insight into each character and their abilities. Caio is still my all time favourite and after this Amelie has definitely taking that second spot. The characters in all these stories are so complex and I love that they have different layers that we are discovering more about.
@ls_delorme definitely knows how to pace her book extremely well and I loved the staggered info release she has done throughout this. I adore this series - at this stage these characters feel like they are a part of me and I am fully invested in seeing where this ends up. I am so excited for book five and where this will go.

Well here we are at the fourth book, and it does not disappoint! Characters from the first three books all come back and play a part in this one as their worlds collide, secrets are revealed and many more questions are asked!
This one really opened up my thoughts and feelings about the different characters. Amelie has certainly grown, matured and become an intense, interesting character.
Caio has maybe surprised me the most, I’ve seen a completely different side to him and have so many more questions for him. Clovis has intriguing me even more! Plus everyone we meet within these pages, there’s just so much going on.
This author just knows how to pull you in and keep you fully invested. There’s great character development, there’s paranormal as well as tech of the future. This book will make you think back to what you already know of these characters and question what you thought you knew about them and the academy. Just who can you trust?

I've been really enjoying The Limerent series and Ghosting Academy is the fourth book in the series that continues the story of Amelie, who we met in Bright Midnights. I think you do have to have read the earlier books in the series to enjoy Ghosting Academy, so I wouldn't recommend reading it as a standalone.
The series takes an even darker turn in this instalment as Amelie and a group of similarly gifted friends graduate through the Academy and take part in a virtual reality game that is scary and dangerous.
I really liked catching up with Amelie again and seeing how she was coping without Clovis (the love of her life). I'm not into gaming at all so I did struggle a bit with the game in the book although I did find it very scary.
LS Delorme has such a vivid imagination that nothing and nobody are what they seem and the story could go absolutely anywhere so it's a book to just sit back and enjoy the incredibly imaginative ride.
Ethereal, scary and mind-bending, Ghosting Academy is pure escapism set in the alternate reality of both our dreams and our nightmares.

Did I just find a new series and author I love?
Yes, 100% I did.
OK so, Ghosting Academy is book four and is a dark physcological fantasy thriller and I'd say that you definitely need to read book two Dark Midnights first.
That's where we get the HUGELY romantic back story to Amelie and Clovis (that one is more paranormalromance than thriller)
Then, I expect you'll be like me and want to read books one and three, which focus on other interconnected characters. Because, well, it's a brilliant series.
This was easily a 5 star read for me.
I really don't want to give anything away here, but GA picks up quite some years after and sees Amelie now working for the top secret paranormal The Academy alongside a host of other awesome characters all with special gifts.
Beware, this series is dark and graphic with LOTS of TW (school shooting, mention of rape, incest, violence etc) but boy, is it good!! And definitely one I'd recommend.
You know to all you guys who like your reads DARK and awesome!
I loved the switch in genres from BM to GA. The added future tech thriller aspect, the explanation of what happened after BM and Amelies POD characters were all brilliant.

Eek, what is happening, what will come next, will everyone survive, do I want everyone to survive? I JUST DONT KNOW AHHHHH!
This has been a great series, and things are now starting to come together, I can't decide once again who to trust, who I want to come through, what the truth is?!?
I did find this one a little slow to get into, about half way through though I couldn't put it down.
The writing is punchy and full of adventure.
We find ourselves back in the hallway at times, and I love this idea, I hope we continue exploring it through future books in this series, and eventually find the library!
I love seeing characters coming back from previous books, and getting to know some new characters, while I don't know if I can trust anyone, I really like them and the relationship the pod has developed.

Book 4 of The Limerent series and I'm really glad I read Bright Midnights first, but I also wish I'd read the other 2 first, as well. I think I missed a lot, by not knowing the entire back story and it's obviously all going to converge in book 5. This is a few shades darker and more tense than Bright Midnights.
So, we're back with Amelie but for a huge chunk of the book, she's on her own, not with Clovis. She has podmates and there are new people who join, and they each bring their skills to the team.
They're all taken to a remote, inescapable island where they're hooked up to a VR game designed, in theory, to train agents,sharpen their skills, improve their reflexes etc. But what if it's taking more from them than it's giving?
Can they get to the real reason behind their incarceration? Who is it really that Amelie sees when she enters the VR game? How much does the director already know?

This book is so different from what I normally read & I loved it!
This is book 4 in a series, I did read Bright Midnights prior and that helped a lot to understand the history, the reasoning, and the feelings that lead up to this one.
My favorite aspect of this series is the character development. It’s so easy to become so invested and consumed by the FMC.
I am absolutely going to go back & read books 2 & 3, then continue on with the series because I have to know what happens next & what I missed!!

Another absolutely amazing adventure in this world. Ghosting Academy is the forth book in this series and each one has been better than the last. These worlds are addicting and had me hooked from the very first page.
I loved that this book was for Amelie's point of view and seeing her in the academy was so good.
I think this book definitely leaned to the darker side compared to the others in the series and it made me enjoy the story so much.
As always we had so many different twists and turnsthroughout the story that sucked you in and left me desperate to find out what was going to happen next.
I have loved every minute of this series and I can't wait for the next books release to be back in this world.

Wow! What an ending! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! Ghosting Academy brought back Amelie, and there were several other familiar faces who made appearances. I love how each of the books before Ghosting Academy introduced characters to the Limerence series, so when they were brought in for this book, it’s like seeing old friends. The story itself was fantastic, so creative and twisty. Some things began to make sense and questions were answered, only to cause more questions to come up as well as things you try to make sense of. I love it! Ghosting Academy ranks 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!
