This MAN,who is the son of the man who runs a crime empire, learned an entire hair care routine for curly hair just in case he ever got the opportunity to take care of her. EXCUSE ME????

So, I loved our MMC Julian, of course.. but I have to admit, I also loved his brother as well LOL yes the ex boyfriend Adrian! This might be an unpopular opinion, but I can't help it.
Aurelia is such a bad ass. This is how you write feminine rage. Honestly, I don't know who I wanted more, Julian or Aurelia.. ;)
The twist at the end of this.. OMG I did not see that coming. I cannot wait for book 2! <3

OMG, that cliffhanger left me absolutely shook! I’m devastated and need the next book like, right now. How could it end like that?! I swear, my soul left my body. This is hands down one of the best debuts I’ve read all year!

I tore through Goldsin because it was just THAT good. The revenge plot hooked me from page one, and from then on, there was no stopping. Aurelia? Ugh, my queen. She’s fierce, ruthless, and doesn’t hesitate to go after what she wants. The feminine rage? Chef’s kiss! 💋🔥 As for Julian...where do I even begin?! He’s her ex-boyfriend’s brother, childhood bestie, and totally unhinged. Some of the things that came out of this man’s mouth had me BLUSHING and gasping 🥵. The tension between him and Aurelia? Explosive. They’ve got that enemies-to-lovers fire, and every scene between them was straight-up intense. Julian’s obsession with her was wild, especially when it came to protecting her.
And the plot? A total rollercoaster. The secret society and all the hidden drama had me glued to every page. The backstory of Aurelia’s mom was heartbreaking, and I need to know how that’s going to play out. And don’t even get me started on the ending… HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! 🥲 The twist? I did not see it coming AT ALL. I am so NOT okay with that and now I’m left reeling. The suspense is unreal, and I’m absolutely here for it.

Now, excuse me while I sit here stalking Aveline for updates on the sequel!

WHAT!!!!!! I gasped. How did I read this in one sitting?? Now I have to wait until book 2 😭😭
The revenge plot in this is magnificent. This was one of my most anticipated reads and I am so excited about it. I was hooked right from chapter 1 and couldn't stop.
I love Aurelia so much. She is a freaking badass!! Julian has my heart. Some of the things that came out of that mans mouth. Oh, and he's her ex-boyfriends brother & childhood best friend so it makes it even better. 😏
I simply cannot wait for book 2!! So so so good. HIGHLY recommend if you like dark romance + a revenge plot.

When a book features a FMC on a revenge tour, I can almost guarantee that I’m going to devour it—and this book did not disappoint. Aurelia is seeking revenge for her mother, who was abused (and died) by members of a society, and my girl is out for blood. GET THEM QUEEN🔪
Things are just little complicated because the man that she has been in love with for pretty much her entire life is also her ex-boyfriend’s brother and the son of one of her enemies…. So yeah, you can imagine how messy things get😅😅
But I fucking loved Julian so damn much the way this man went from being completely unhinged ( wiping a spot of blood off of her chest and licking it and saying “ it doesn’t taste like yours”) to completely giving her the princess treatment in the bath (with all her favorite products because obviously he’s paying attention) AND THEN THIS MAN WHIPS OUT A FUCKING DIFFUSER FOR HER HAIR BC HE LOVES HER CURLS SO HE WATCHES A FUCKING YOUTUBE VIDEO ON HOW TO DO HAIR…… urrrrrrr joking????? 🙃🙃
There’s also something about a man who will just pick you up and throw you over his shoulder in a public setting…
This storyline had me in an absolute chokehold. The writing style was just flowing so seamlessly. I loved Julian and Aurelia‘s connection and chemistry and how they Tested each other’s limits.
The way the story unfolded in the final pages had me gasping for air, and that cliffhanger? Diabolical😭😭😭😭😭
This was a damn good book and I can’t wait for the next one

Skip chapter 20,21,27 if you can't stomach disturbing spicy scenes. I skimmed thru them too bcs I felt uncomfortable. Don't worry, you won't be missing anything substantial. I'm not a dark romance fan (unless Rina Kent writes it) but I was in the mood for something dark so this book was enjoyable to me.
The tropes and blurb of this book were so intriguing, I couldn't wait to pick it up. This had plot and a good deal of suspense going on so I was intrigued throughout the book. I liked Aurelia's bold character but I wish we got a little more something of her friendship w Eleanora. Julian's bestfriend's character interested me more than Julian lmao. And Adrian's death at the end didn't make any sense and even though his character is blurred between good and evil, I feel bad for him.
I don't think I can say much w/o spoiling it. Just know that it's dark and you're gonna be bothered by some stuff if you're not in a mood for it. The writing was also surprisingly very good as a debut.

4.25✨ what a fantastic debut with stunning feminine rage
aurelia really took vengeance to the next level. and i loved it. her feminine rage was an absolute beacon for julian and i loved it. she was so fierce and badass and i loved the depth of her backstory. i can’t wait to see how her character evolves and see her position in the consortium more. she’s just so cool honestly. i really loved her character. she’s also hot as fuck. i can’t wait to see what else she’s going to do now that the book ended the way it did. i loved her relationship with valentine and i hope to see more of it in the books to come. what he did was absolutely beautiful.
julian is so hot purely because he’s unhinged. and i am so here for it. the years of pining was so profound and addicting. i want more grovelling from him. i want to know so much more about whyyy he stayed away and what was going on 10 years ago. but man i love how raw he is. his addiction to aurelia is so obvious and his fierce need to protect her is amazing. and the knife scene??? yes give me more!
i think julian & adrian’s relationship is such a sensitive spot. cause as much as they dislike each other on the outside, i think they actually care about each other deeply and just don’t know how to show it given their circumstances.
i think lucian is a great villain and the whole backstory of aurelia’s mom and the consortium was so good. the plot really was intriguing and gripping in this. and the spice. the intentional and not just for the sake of it spice. there was tension and build up and it absolutely paid off. i will say that the ending felt too rushed for me. it was fine and dandy and then all of a sudden so much happened and there was a cliffhanger and it was just done. but also i in fact did not know that this wasn’t a standalone so that a very rude awakening for me and i was all caps flooding aveline’s dm’s when i finished. overall, she did a great job and i am SO excited for the next book!

I am OBSESSED. Like I already want to reread this and I finished it less than 10 hours ago. Aveline Knight blew me away with this one!
I freaking love a revenge plot, bad ass FMC. Aurelia delivered ten fold on that. I freaking loved her so much. And don’t even get me started on my man Julian. I have an unhealthy attachment to him 🤭
This book was action packed, spice was spicin’, knife play, blood play, and just so so good!!
Favorite moments:

What the actual fuck did I just read?
This book was a fever dream, in the best, darkest, most disturbing way possible. It’s a dark romance, and I need to scream this into the void: please check the trigger/content warnings. This book does not hold back. If you are not into dark romance, back away slowly. This one is not for you.
But if you are? Oh my god. Strap in. This book is friends-to-haters-to-lovers-to-haters-again (???), ex-boyfriend’s brother, yes, brother, with intense mafia vibes, “touch her and you die” energy (and not just a threat, a promise, with a very slow, very graphic death). The FMC is unhinged. Like, truly, completely off-the-rails feral energy, and I could not love her more. She’s brutal, smart, emotionally destroyed, and still somehow standing. She owns every page she’s on.
Julian? He is obsessed with her. Not the cute kind. Not even the stalker-lite kind. I mean the “I will end the entire world for you and then blame you for it” kind. Which somehow makes the ending even more disturbing. I’m still not over it. I don’t think I will be over it.
This gave me massive Haunting Adeline meets Lights Out vibes, with a sprinkle of what I imagine Butcher and Blackbird will give (I haven’t read it yet, but if it feels anything like this, I’m in trouble). Obsession, violence, tension, chemistry, unrelenting darkness, and somehow moments that made me laugh in a “should I be laughing right now?” kind of way.
This book is underrated to the point of being criminal. I would be pressing charges if I hadn’t received the ARC for Gold Flame, because I need it after that ending. I might recover eventually… or I’ll just jump straight into Gold Flame and accept my fate.

Aurelia (FMC) is a badsss on a mission for revenge. Julian (MMC) has ignored her for years and suddenly has his eyes on her. He’s also super unhinged and obsessed. The plot was actually really good and even the spice in the book was hot to read (I normally skim past smut parts, but didn’t with this). The book got my interest from chapter one and kept it the entire way through. I was not expecting the ending… the gasp I gasped. Plot was 🔥🤌🏻!

The cliffhanger though… just wow. I can’t wait to read book two.
Aurelia (FMC) is a badsss on a mission for revenge. Julian (MMC) has ignored her for years and suddenly has his eyes on her. He’s also super unhinged and obsessed. The plot was actually really good and even the spice in the book was hot to read (I normally skim past smut parts, but didn’t with this). The book got my interest from chapter one and kept it the entire way through. I was not expecting the ending… the gasp I gasped. Plot was 🔥🤌🏻!

The story is good, like really good. The secret society vibes are amazing and it is so fast-paced that you won't even realize how fast you are reading it untill it is too late and the book is over.
I loved every second of it: Julian is such a complex character constantly torn between his love for her and his devotion to his mother and family. Aurelia is so strong and driven by this desire to avange her mother's death. And their chemistry... just amazing!!!

The idea was there! I loved the idea of this book. Dark romance with a young girl who dated one brother but is secretly in love with another, while also getting revenge on the people who harmed her mother.
I think there could have been more detail for the back story, maybe more character development. The main character’s father figure Valentine for example. He’d cut onions with her to let her cry so we get the notion that he’s a good dad replacement, but then he’ll allow her to go to this incredibly dangerous party where she could get SA’ed? Not a good look, Valentine…
There’s a good twist that explains the reason behind her relationship with Adrian, but it seemed rushed and then glossed over. There’s a major character shift and we find out one woman we rooted for is one of the villains. Also rushed. All in all, I enjoyed most of it and I believe a second one is coming out.

Bold of this book to exist. That said, you should know that I never rate the books that I dnf, but this one…
Absolutely not. Goldsin tries so hard to be gritty and bold, but ends up glamorizing abuse and making excuses for the inexcusable. The FMC is on this revenge path for what these men did to her mother — which, fair — but then she turns around and gets involved with the exact same abusers? And not just emotionally tangled — we’re talking deep, messy entanglements with men who have a history of violence, crime, and, yes, *drum rolls please* abuse.
But don’t worry, the book wants you to know they have trauma too. They were abused as kids, and apparently that’s supposed to make everything they do now… understandable? Sympathetic? Sorry, no. That’s not character depth, that’s just LAZY justification. Having trauma doesn’t give anyone a free pass to become the monster. So no — this wasn’t dark or powerful or redemptive. It was just disturbing, and not in the way the author intended.

Honestly don’t understand the hype with this book. It’s so poorly written. Considered ‘dnf’ but stuck with it which was a waste of my time.
Sort of interested to see what follows the cliffhanger at the end of book 1 but not enough to actually read the second book.

To be completely honest, this is by far one of the best books I’ve read in recent months. It was so well-written, so well-crafted, that I try to find flaws, but I can’t. Of course, there were some things that bothered me, but not enough to detract from the perfection of the book. For being the author's debut, I think she did a *fantastic* job; this is better than many famous books. The writing is impeccable, with certain sentences that truly moved me and left me deeply impacted. I really appreciated that, and the plot is so captivating... The secret society woven into it was so well done that I wouldn’t mind knowing more and more about it. Aveline has a gift, trust me on this.
The final plot twist was beyond surprising. I even thought it might be that, but I was like, “No, this person couldn't possibly do that,” but they turned out to be even worse than I expected. Anyway, I’m so excited for the sequel! I can’t wait—I need to know more about Aurelia’s mother’s past. I want more of her revenge too; she *needs* it.
And Julian is such a sweetheart! His protectiveness over his mother was one of the best things in the book. And he’s so brutal at the same time, a true dark romance hero. 🤭

Goldsin started quite swiftly, which I liked. The first chapters pull you in right away, it’s always a pleasure to read about feminine rage. However, a lot was happening and I had the impression that it felt ‘’superficial’’ at times, between the beginning and the ending. I’m not saying this a reproach and I still liked Goldsin, it was a good debut novel, it’s only that I feel like during the inbetween, it could’ve been more fleshed out. With that being said, as stated previously, I still enjoyed it for the most part. The sm*t scenes were fun and the ending got me bad. I should’ve seen it coming, yet I did not and it felt like a slap to the face 😂 I can’t wait to see how book 2 will play out, because we’re in for a ride. That cliffhanger is cruel haha

The revenge plot of this book is so good! I did find myself wanting a bit more from it tho, like more depth of it before we really dive in but I also kinda like not knowing much about the Inferno Consortium until it’s learned about it. I still want to know more about bit more about it tho.
Aurelia is quite the badass and Julian is unhinged and kinda sweet at the same time.
They have such good chemistry together, but I feel like she gives in to him and her feelings for him a little too quickly since he did ignore her for 10 years when they were best friends. I think that sting would’ve had her holding more of a grudge, considering what she does.
Besides those two things, I really enjoyed this book. Everytime I picked it up I was sucked into it!!
