This review is for S2 - end of the webtoon.

Yoo Taehyuk (MC) and Hyo-un’s (ML) first lives were retold in S2 and I really enjoyed it. It shed light to how they met and what happened to make both characters forget their past, and it was heartbreaking. In fact, their dynamic reminded me of another webtoon I read called Taming the Tiger, because similarly, YTH and HU only had each other to rely on, where the former was the caretaker and the latter was the dependent, which formed a strong and unbreakable bond between the two, one that transcended death. It wasn’t easy for YTH and HU to get together due to the numerous challenges they had to overcome but when they finally did (with all their memories), it was a sweet and joyful moment and they celebrated with A LOT of sex, which I’m not complaining about because the art style is really good and I do enjoy when characters are having a great time with the love of their lives.

The part where the sinners of the past were reborn with memories of their past lives was good and I’m not sure if the author intended it, but I felt bad for Yoo Hyun (YTH’s older brother) because he made the mistake of being obsessed with YTH in his first life but still lost his brother again in the current life after YTH remembered everything. I don’t think YH did anything wrong to YTH in the current life (?) to warrant that kind of treatment.

I enjoyed Season 2 much more. Usually, I'm not one to care about the flashbacks, but this time I wanted to see the whole mate and come-to-serve-the-fam plotline, so.



Possible spoilers below:

I liked the mythology of how Hyo-un came to be and his unawareness about himself. It was awful to see his treatment at the hands of humans, so I was happy when Taehyuk found him. His father-child relationship is so precious. This is why I can't take that they are lovers. It's so twisted, sigh. Rain on my parade. I wished there would've been more exploration of dragon mythology and other supernatural beings. Ahd the king/brother obssession could have been exploited more. Oh, and the art is really beautiful, specially the scenes when Hyo-un transforms into a dragon. I read until the wedding episode (last published) and that's enough for me. Onto greener pastures.

This story captivated me so much that I read all 3 seasons in 2 days. I laughed, I cried, I loved it and, in the end, I felt a tightness in my heart because it had ended, but at the same time a relief because after so much pain and despair, those two deserved happiness. If you're not prepared to go back in time and feel pain, this manhwa isn't for you. But if you're prepared to overcome all that and experience the funniest and sexiest moments with these characters... go for it! It's going to be one of the best stories you'll find! And be prepared, because the artwork is simply wonderful to the point of making you sigh.

Second volume is about the emerging relationship between Yoo Taehyuk and Hyo-un, the family dragon. Hyo-un has lost his memory of his mate of the past, and is unpredictable, but Taehyuk is good-natured and patient. Also, he doesn't quite believe Hyo-un is a dragon. He'll learn otherwise.
