Clara Rossi, an executive at Rossi Motors, leads a hectic life. What was meant to be a one-night fantasy with Jake Hayes takes an unexpected turn when he turns out to be the potential new business partner for her company. What should have been a one-time encounter becomes complicated as Jake finds himself unable to take his eyes off Clara.

I love how Julia Wolf weaves in the complexities of Clara's life - her past trust issues, the challenges of being a working mom, and the pressure of the family business. It all feels so real and adds depth to the steamy romance.

The development of their relationship, from that one hot night to something deeper, is beautifully paced. I was rooting for them the whole way through.

This book has it all - heart, humor, and heat. It's a page-turner that had me staying up way too late because I just couldn't put it down.

I absolutely LOVE Julia Wolf and her billionaire romances and this one was no exception.
Clara Rossi - I have wanted her story since Luca's and I was not disappointed one bit. You bring in Jake the hot motorcycle girl for the boss motorcycle girl - absolutely adore that.
This book is filled with banter, chemistry, cuteness and spice and I CANNOT WAIT to see where the rest of the series takes us 🩷🩷

As I said I was waiting!!! I wanted Clara's story so bad and imo it was stunning. Clara needed someone wild to get her out of her shell and Jake was just that. Jake Hayes is an executive at Motor Zone, also a family company, and so when Motor Zone and Rossi Motors are looking at a partnership - Clara and Jake's paths can't help but cross. And well let's say Jake was anything but disappointed. Their banter was amazing, their chemistry was steamy, and their connection jumped off the page 🩷💫

okay now let me start off with the fact that i LOVE julia wolf. but this triggered something in me that i didn’t know was there and it’s just MY opinion.


they deserve each other….but in the worst way.

now i honestly can’t tell you WHY i felt so strongly about the H, but i took everything he did so personal 😅 the only way i can break this down without going on a 15 page rant is with bullet points so here i go.

1. he met and had dinner with the h’s child (even if it was a coincidence) and never mentioned that he has his own and he said it’s because he was protecting his daughter but they’ve already slept together three times…. and he was the one who wanted to continue their fling.

2. she stays at his house and the mother of his child walks in with a key and the h thinks she’s the other woman so he tells her to stay in the room and then proceeds to say the most GROTESQUE, VILE, UNFORGIVABLE things about the h to the mother of his child and that’s how the h finds out he’s a dad.

3. HE DOESN’T EVEN APOLOGIZE. he just says that he doesn’t know how to communicate his feelings and he was trying to protect his daughter after he had a failed relationship where his daughter thought she was to blame. and the h basically says oh okay and then they bone.

4. after he said those disgusting things and waited a week to even contact the h, he said to trust him and he would never hurt her……oh pleaseeeeee you JUST HURT HER A WEEK AGO 🙄🙄🙄

5. everything is honkey dory and she meets his daughter but never spends time with her because yet again “he’s trying to keep his daughter from getting attached” but all that does is make his daughter sad and jealous and cause her to think the h doesn’t like her because she sees them out acting like a happy family without her! this girl is 13 and more emotionally mature than her father.

6. when the mother moved on and got married, he dated around and tried settling down but that ended after his girlfriend of two years just broke up with him out of the blue…..and the h has only ever been with her crazy ex husband 😑😑😑😑 him being celibate for the entire year since their first encounter didn’t even save this for me.

7. he withheld important business information from her (even though she said she wanted to keep business and pleasure separate) and she compared him to her psychotic ex that sent dead animals to people. like even i feel that was a bit dramatic


i was just so disappointed in this and it literally pains me 😭😭😭 i did receive it as an arc and i honestly don’t know if i want to read the rest of this series…..except maybe one of her friends. but i was hopeful for julia to make me not hate single dad and it’s just the same double standards as every other single dad book i’ve read.

Where can I find me a Jake Hayes? *sigh* Julia Wolf just writes me the best of the best.

I won't pretend to be anything other than a Stan for Julia Wolf at this point. That being said, I have very high standards after PS You're Intolerable was my favorite read of 2023. So there are big shoes to fill.

I am happy to report that Jake and Clara live up to that standard for me. There's just something about their chemistry, their communication, their love for their children, and the hope of a new beginning that drew me to them so completely.

From the start, with their anonymous meet ups at a biker bar, I felt the passion simmering. That tingly, skin-tight feeling of awareness that makes goosebumps raise on my arm. Jake and Clara have that going on. The trouble hits when they come face to face outside of their hidden bubble. They have lives they normally ignore when they hit the blacktop and meet in hotel rooms and coming face to face with that... it forces them to decide if they want to try to keep it. But you can't fight a pull that intense.

They both have baggage and responsibilities. Clara feels like she's too old for him and too jaded. Jake thinks he doesn't have room for anything serious and he hasn't dated in years. Not to mention, they both are single parents to lovely daughters, which puts more hearts at risk than their own. Finding a way to mingle their lives in the midst of a possible business collaboration just might break them.

Something else I really want to touch on is the mutual respect that is so evident in their relationship. Which seems like it shouldn't need to be said, yet far too often I wonder if some characters in love really DO respect their partners. I find that to be evident in this quote from Jake:

"Clara Rossi was a revelation. No matter what happened between us, I promised myself I wouldn't become another reason for her to distrust men. I couldn't make any other promises, but she'd always have the truth from me. Always."

The amount of small gestures and loving care these two show for each other... it's hard to describe it. They spend time learning each other. They pay attention. Jake and Clara just *feel* like a real couple to me. I know people like this even if this is an exaggerated version of them.

Like when Clara says this:

"He made it impossible to hide any part of myself. Even the pieces I'd thought were shut off forever had been pried open. He had me. Fully. Completely. My trust, my heart, my thoughts--they were his."

or this from Jake:

"I love you, Clara. I'm not done with you. I'm pretty certain I never will be. If I haven't made it clear to you how completely in love with you I am, that's my fault. I love you down to the core of me. It came on slow and steady, like a summer rain shower, and before I knew it, I was drenched. My love for you goes so deep it's a part of me now. Even if I tried to carve myself hollow, I wouldn't be able to rid myself of it."

I could go on for days and days about these two, who am I kidding? I definitely will. This was a wonderful beginning to a new series. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this one.

H was a macho judgmental jackass who not only judges h for everything from owning a porsche to dressing 'rich' but also pushes her all damn boundaries even the ones set for her kid.


When H's baby mama and kid that he kept hidden walks in, he calls h 'an older lady he fucks'. Never apologies, doesn't own up to his lies or behavior and now pushes dating down h's throat. Are we supposed to find this cute?


And the double standard for protecting their kids. H can want his kid not meet his fuck partners but when the h prefers the same, she was a called a cold uptight bitch in H's inner monologue. Like?????


h is to be this cold savvy business women but all she comes across is as spineless. Let's the man walk all over her.


All this by just in 40%, idk if there's redemption for either characters and I'm seriously considering dropping the book here


edit - story definitely did not get redeemed, infact it fell nose first into the pit. H is still a overbearing jackass and h has all her apologies saved so she can give it to him whenever HE screws up. Love how author makes all of it h's fault. He lies, hides the truth, hurts h and she's the one begging him for a second chance 🤡🤡🤡

I guess it my lesson: wait for other reviews other than ARC before starting a book.

I'm disappointed. It was readable but I wanted to dnf at one point. I hated the MMC: I don't get why he lied about having a daughter when he knew about her daughter already, he spent so much time with the little one but his girl couldn't because it's for her own good yeah right way to start a serious relationship. I also hated so much when he called the FMC mama. Please never do that again.
I almost don't remember a thing about the FMC. Blurb & tropes seemed good about her, I was like, yes, I'm gonna read about a girlboss. Nah. Yes she was important at her job but her only character trait was being a mother. And for someone who wanted so much to keep her daughter from the man she was seeing, she folded pretty quickly. As quickly as she folded when he talked badly about her (don't remember an actual apology but ok) and as quickly as she took him back.
Don't get me started on the big lie that almost ended their relationship. She was the one talking about separating work from personal stuff so why the drama? I don't know, a lot felt dramatic for nothing here, that was too much.

I don't know if I'll read the next book, I usually enjoy this author but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In the Details was the first book in Julia Wolf’s new series, but it had familiar characters we know and love (the Rossi’s) and I loved seeing that! Jake and Clara were wonderful and both were single parents to adorable girls. I love Julia’s writing and this was another great one!

I usually find Julia Wolf’s men to be top tier. They are always the perfect combination of sweet and respectful to hot and demanding. Unfortunately, Jake did not fall in this category. He was way too cocky for me and just plain rude. From the start he was a complete ass, always assuming the worst about Clara and being a hypocrite all in the same breath. I hoped it got better but by the end of the book I still didn’t like him.

It really says something about how good of a writer this author is though because although I hated the man that was 50% of this book, I still really enjoyed the story. I really liked seeing the healthy co parenting between Jake and his daughter’s mother. The kids were so loveable and really added to the story which I find can be hard to do sometimes, and although Jake sucked, the romance did not. The good parts of their relationship were so sweet and I really enjoyed watching them all become a family.

What a fantastic read! Julia Wolf just seems not to ever mess with me. She seems to find the perfect combination of storytelling, angst, and hot smexy. They are both characters with whom you become completely invested. I love how she doesn’t make one character better than the other. They both are fallible. They both make mistakes. In the end, they both go that extra mile for the person they love. These two characters complemented each other so well and their chemistry was off the charts. I am so excited for this new series and I can’t wait to see what’s to come ❤️. In Te Detals is definitely going in my best of 2024 pile!

GUYS!!! I love dual single parent romances!! Two ARCs in one week with this trope! The universe is really shining down on me! Because this trope is truly special! Watching both of them fall in love with each other's daughters is something I'm not sure I can ever get tired of!!

I fell in love with Julia Wolf's writing for the first time during P.S. You're Intolerable! And since I haven't stopped jumping on new releases she puts out! So when I got the opportunity to review this book early I was so excited!!!



This book started strong right off the bat! I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it in one evening!! It was so sweet! I loved watching the relationship between Jake and Clara unfold! From meet cute to man obsessed!! Jake knew how to build a woman's confidence up for sure. While showering her with so much love! After everything Clara had been through she deserved to have a man shower her with love! This woman was so strong! She poured everything she had into her family business all while raising her daughter! And Jake knew exactly how to get her out of her head when she became too overwhelmed, or when she needed someone to make sure she took care of herself after a long day. And his declaration of love!!!

Jake's relationship with his daughter was so sweet! This man was meant to be a dad! He learned how to braid her hair for hockey, he made sure to always put her feelings first and prioritize his time with her, and he was always telling her how much she meant to him! And even though Clara's daughter wasn't his blood he made sure she felt safe with him and poured so much love into their relationship too! It broke my heart during the 3rd act breakup when her daughter cried for him because of the relationship they had all built as a family!

However. This man knew how to grovel and pour his feelings out! I was glad it didn't last long!

I can't wait for Shira's book!!!!

There is something specific that I love so deeply about romance novels, and it's captured perfectly I'm this book. It's when love between our couple is so deep and so real they never give up on each other even if one or both had made some pretty costly mistakes.

Clara and Jake meet in a way that seems serendipitous but is clearly a bit more than that. There's a strong element of meant to be with this couple combined with an equally strong element of them continuously choosing each other over and over.

They both have some damage from previous relationships but they are both so drawn to each other that they're willing to risk love again.

I loved this book so much, watching both of them love each other and fight for each other was so beautiful and I can't think of a more tender romance that I've read than this in a long time.

Clara Rossi is the COO of Rossi motors, after a high profile divorce she's kept her head down being one of the bosses and a mom to her daughter. On a trip to ride her bike she meets a stranger in a bar and they hook up. Over the nest year they meet accidentally have sex and go their separate ways.....until her escape from her real life bleeds into her regular life when she meets to brothers involved in a new proposed partnership with Rossi and her sometimes hookup is none other than Jake.

~Jake was an ass when they meet up in the real world. His inner thoughts about his "relationship" with Clara don't endear him to me at all.
~They've met up a few times over a one year period and had sex away from their regular lives. This was the discussion when they next hook up.

Maybe it was because I was only half-awake or because this man made me stupid, but I tightened around him to keep him inside.
“I haven’t been with anyone but you, and I have an IUD.”
He sighed, his head falling on mine. I knew what regret sounded like.
“Like that more than you can know, sweetness, but I gotta have a condom to keep us both safe. Shouldn’t have gone in without one. You’re too damn tempting, I couldn’t help myself.”

~So we know Clara has been only with him while they've been hooking up and nothing from Jake 🙄

~Then she spends the night and wakes up to this the next morning

“Why are you getting so hot and bothered about—ohhh, you have company, don’t you?”
I peered around the corner to find Jake standing in the foyer with a pretty, leggy blonde in leggings and a crop top, his arms crossed over his bare chest, which she poked the center of.
Jake grunted. “It’s nothing.”
“She must be something if you have her here. You’re seeing someone and didn’t—”
He swiped a hand through the air. “I said it’s nothing, Carly. Jesus. It’s just satisfying a bodily need.”
She laughed. “Oh my god, are you embarrassed right now? How young is she?”
He shoved his fingers through his hair and chuffed like a raging bull. “Opposite. She’s older and knows the score. I give her attention, she lets me in. Nothing more than getting off and getting gone.”

~Then there's this

In those few seconds—which felt like an eternity—it took to yank open the door, another layer of Jake’s secrecy revealed itself.
“Dad! I forgot my field hockey stick!”
Jake Hayes was a father.
And he never thought to mention it.

~Now they weren't in a defined relationship 🙄 but they've been hooking up. He knows she has a kid, heck he accidentally met the child(against her wishes too fucker)and yet couldn't find the time to even mention he had a child



There was no explanation I could come up with for my reaction—not when I’d been firm in my decision to cut things off with her and hadn’t wavered. Of course, this past week, I’d had Sage, so seeing Clara had been out of the question anyway. I could’ve picked up the phone to apologize, but I’d chosen silence as the period at the end of our...situation.
Yet, here I was, feeling very much not done with this woman. I did not like her involving someone else to make me jealous—or whatever her intention was—and I would let her know in no uncertain terms. But first, we had unfinished business that needed taking care of.


~Steups he's irritating AF, Clara is a badass h in the workforce but such a fucking wimp.for Jake, I wish she'd gone out with someone else. He suddenly knew he actually wanted to date her because another man was flirting with her.

The third act breakup pissed me off so bad, Poor Nellie was crying because she missed her Jake(why TF didn't we see a reunion between them when the mcs made up?) I love this author (most times) but by 80% I was reading with dread, because we'd surpassed the H and his assholeness, we'd surmounted the hidden child and his hypocrisy in keeping his daughter separated while interacting with the h's daughter heck the h was finally trusting again.....but see I know this author so I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.....and drop it did! The third act breakup is unnecessary, every single time!!!!! Do you hear me dear author?!!??! It's unnecessary could you STOP?!????

Grrrrrrrrr I got so mad I want to 1 star this book but I can't because I enjoyed it 😔

Mientras leía se notaba un montón como es que él prácticamente la NECESITA. Ya sea tocarla, darle un beso, abrazarla, hacerla sonreír, sonrojar o reír. Él solo quería hacerla FELIZ 😫✨. Él siempre le recordaba lo hermosa que era 🤧.

Aquí otra escena para convercerte: él le compró todas sus cremas faciales y corporales, sus jabones de ducha y almohada, todo exactamente lo mismo, para que cuando ella se quedara a dormir en su casa tuviera todo lo que necesita para sentirse cómoda 🤧💖 ¿Si dije que él tuvo que prestar suma atención y tomar nota para comprar lo mismo de cada cosa sin que ella tuviera que decírselo? ✨✨✨

Y Clara también es una gran protagonista, la amo. Puede parecer inaccesible y fría al principio, pero ella solo está protegiendo a su corazón lastimado. Y, a pesar de todo el miedo que sentía, fue valiente y decidió intentarlo con Jake 💗. Con él volvió a sentirse viva ❤️‍🩹.

So good! I’ve been dying to get Clara’s story ever since we met her in Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife. She deserved her HEA after what she went through. This story was so worth the wait. Jake was the perfect man for Clara, he treated her with such love and kindness, it was really beautiful to read.

How? How? HOW does every single new story bump the one before it out of “yeah, this is my favorite and that won’t change” with this author? Seriously. Jake and Clara are kind of everything. They’ve both been hurt. They’re both guarded. And they’re both a tad afraid of letting go of all control. But they are absolute fire together, so there has to be something worth trying for, right?

Clara is already someone I adored and I’m so glad she’s finding herself, her happiness, and her way. She’s been through a LOT, but Jake could change the way she sees life. Or he could shatter her. But even when it seems like things may be best left untried (dude, open mouth insert foot with Carly!), fate pushes her to trusting a man who could be everything good and right for her future.

And Jake? Well, he’s a man. He sometimes leads with his mouth, but turns the filter off unintentionally. He DOES make things right immediately though. He doesn’t play games and he’s all about letting Clara see and feel exactly how he views her. How he loves and wants her. And their stubbornness is a bit amusing most of the time because they clearly see each other while worrying about their own flaws (that aren’t flaws, but they iron that out too).

Even when lines are drawn and trampled over, I had to adore them both. They both hurt. So much. And they both need to be reminded of the important things while the sting remains. But man, do they make it all okay in the end!

I won’t even get into Carly and Sage. Not because they’re bad. But because I could devote pages to how much I love them both and their straight talk and honesty. Just like I won’t say how I love seeing Shira again. Or how Bea could be my bestie. I will say that I can’t wait to see more of any and all of them again in the near future though.

This book was really sweet! Julia did such a great job with this one, it flowed really well in my opinion.

Jake and Clara were cute together, but I found it a little hard to connect with both of them individually and I’m not even sure why.

Both kids were really sweet, and I wish Jake’s daughter had been included more/earlier. And Julia definitely had been going easy on the third act breakups in her last couple of books so I had a feeling there would be one in this book and I was right😂 Clara really frustrated me during it because I feel like she was being really unfair and a bit dramatic.

However, overall the book was cute and if you like double single parent you’d probably like this one!

I really enjoyed this!! This was such a different take on single parent because both main characters were single parents and their children were perfection!!! The older sister/ younger sister dynamic with Sage and Nellie was legit perfection.

I loved Clara. It was so refreshing to read about the woman being the billionaire for once! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ok, and the spice? DAYUM - it was hot.

Their initial (REAL) meeting was not fun. Jake was a very judgy jackhole (his words 🤣) and Clara was a mega bitch (her words😂). This book doesn’t have a ton of drama, but what really pulls me in is watching their relationship evolve. Clara is the one who is more hesitant to start anything, with the betrayal from her ex-husband that blindsided her. Jake’s been through his own rough patch too—his past mistakes hurt his daughter, and he’s hell-bent on not making the same errors again. It’s more about their growth and healing than any big dramatic moments. Well, except for that third-act short break, which I thought was a bit blown out, but I let it slide.

🕺𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝟯𝟬𝘆𝗼 - 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰. Single father of 13yo daughter, Sage Hayes.
Jake is fighting his place to the top of my Juia Wolf’s men rank, and he’s definitely up there. I love his dirty talk, no wonder Clara is flustered, I would be too! He’s just a nice guy through and through, you can see from how he handles Jeremy, his half-brother, even at the risk of hurting his relationship with Clara. I love his relationship with his baby mama, they get along so there is no OW drama here, yaay! I can list all the things that he does that melt my heart, but then this review will be unnecessarily long. Some of my favorites are when he danced along with Nell on her cartoon show and when he braids their hair🥹

💃🏻𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶, 𝟯𝟳𝘆𝗼 - 𝗖𝗢𝗢 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. Single mother of a 3yo daugter, Antonella Rossi.
Although you can read this as a complete standalone, I highly recommend reading Luca’s book Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife so you know what happened to Clara and her ex-husband. Fortunately, he didn’t show up at all in this book, I would hate an OM drama. She was completely blindsided by what her husband did, and understandably, it made her paranoid to trust another. I love Clara for the most part, she was such a good mom and sister. However, I was a bit mad at her for ghosting Jake and Sage when she promised to not do such a thing.

✨What a great start to a new series🤩 I’m a Julia Wolf stand and I have yet to read a book from her that I don’t LOVE, 8 books and all 5⭐️ perfections. I think She wrote the most swoon-worthy hero that always swept me off my feet, and kept me thinking long after I finished the book. I love the setup of all the side characters and I’m good with either Bea or Shira to be next!

Después de leer Sincerely, your inconvenient wife, me quedé con ese mal sabor que le hicieron a la hermana de Luca, Clara su ex esposo era el real desgraciado/loco/psicopata este libro fue la curita que ella necesitaba, bueno ella y su bebé Nellie 💗🥹

Ame mucho a Jake, su forma de ser cómo protegía a Clara cómo la cuidaba, cómo era un excelente papá y a su vez cómo aprendía cada día al arreglar sus errores.

Finalmente cumplió mucho, necesitaba leer algo urgente y este libro me hizo muy feliz quiero que alguien me quiera y me cuide tanto cómo Jake a sus chicas 🥹😊✨

The build of the relationship between Clara and Jake was enjoyable, as they came to care for each other in diverse ways, whilst navigating very realistic problems - both in business terms, and as single parents looking out for their kids (and healing from past trauma). However, a few times, the MMC’s actions had me not liking him so much.
Oh I also spotted a few typos, including one misspelling of a minor character’s name.

I loved every single moment of this book.

Julia Wolf has done it again with this one. I think this one just might be my favorite of all the billionaire books she’s written. There was just something about the entire dynamic between Clara, Jake and the kiddos that really pulled me in. The beautiful little family they became just made me smile. While Jake is a possessive, alpha-esque type MMC, there was definitely a sweet cinnamon roll hiding inside when it came to all of his girls. I absolutely adored his relationship with his daughter and how he was just so open and welcome to a relationship with sweet and sassy little Nellie.

Clara has been through a lot in the past and it was really nice to see her be able to overcome a lot of that and find herself again with Jake. They were truly what the other needed in their lives. This book just made me really, really happy.

Though, I did shed a tear or two….. Thanks for that Julia. LOL

This is the first book in a spin-off series from Julia’s wildly popular The Harder They Fall series, and while you can definitely read it as a standalone I think that to truly understand everything that Clara went through to get to where she is now you should at least read her brother’s book, “Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife.”

I absolutely can’t wait for what comes next in this series!

3.5/5⭐️ sooooo many good things about this book. particularly the double single parent dynamic and two little girls becoming sisters 🥹🩷 the mmc also had some pretty spectacular moments.

reasons it’s not rated higher:
- they went from “let’s keep is casual” to “let’s date” way to fast. it was abrupt & didn’t feel natural
- the mmc is a biker guy but also a business executive but also a mechanic but also a girl dad but etc etc etc - it felt like julia was trying to just make him one too many things. by the end i figured him out, but at the beginning, i was a bit confused on who he was lol
- the third act break up felt super blown out of proportion- the thing that happened didn’t warrant an explosion of that magnitude.

I am a HUGE julia wolf fan and I am SO HAPPY I have the privilege of reading these stories early 🩷📖✨
