První díl této zběsilé akční jízdy byl recenzenty přirovnáván jak k filmům o nesmrtelném Rambovi, tak i ke knihám Jiřího Kulhánka, dalšího krále české akční školy.
Slečna Marika a její tým složený z nejdrsnějších mužů, jaké jí mohl přidělit snad jen Osud, rozjíždí v Praze ojedinělou akci. Jejími protivníky (či spojenci) mohou být jak členové rusky hovořící mafie, tak specialisté z americké tajné služby či geniální vědci. A pak ještě NĚCO… Něco nelidského, hrozivého, nadlidského. První část dvoudílného románu Líheň vám představí Prahu trochu jinak, než ji znáte.

A native of the Moravian town of Hranice, Miroslav Žamboch graduated with a degree in physics from the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He has been working at the Institute for Nuclear Studies and, since the mid-1990s, has written ten novels and three collections of short stories. Four of his novels, including the most recent, 2007's Drsný Spasitel (Harsh Savior) have been translated into Polish.
Žamboch is also known as an outdoorsman and physical fitness enthusiast, having participated in judo exhibitions, amateur boxing, mountain climbing and downhill cycling.

Miroslav Žamboch vystudoval Fakultu jadernou a fyzikálně inženýrskou ČVUT v Praze a nyní pracuje v Ústavu jaderného výzkumu v Řeži u Prahy. Již jeho první publikovaná povídka, Zpověď válečníka (1995), sklidila u čtenářů velký ohlas. Koniáše, hrdinu, který jej proslavil a získal mu velké množství příznivců, představil ve sbírce povídek Poslední bere vše (2000). Jeho povídky vycházely pravidelně v časopisech (Ikarie) a vyšly také v několika antologiích, např. Punk Fiction (Mladá fronta 2004) nebo Čas psanců (Triton, Praha 2004).
Kromě psaní se Miroslav Žamboch věnuje hodně judu, kulturistice a zvláště pak extrémním sportům. K jeho zájmům patří také vojenská technika a chladné zbraně.

Edit *4, tenhle první díl byl zajímavý. Ale přijde mi divný hodnotit jedno dílo dvěma různými hodnotami. Ten druhý díl, aneb konec knížky, to pohřbil dost hluboko. Vypravěči to nemohli zachránit.

Miroslav Zamboch pokazał, że fantastyka ma wiele obliczy. Są zarówno goście ganiający się z mieczami po zamkach i jeżdżącymi konno, jak i wysportowane kobiety ze ludźmi do zadań specjalnych operujące sporym arsenałem od zwykłego pistoletu po wiadomości ściągnięte z sieci.

1.75-2 ⭐️ best part of this book was the last chapter
not sure if this story was supposed to be serious or ironic because of how bad it is. i hope the poor storytelling can be blamed on this being one of the author’s older books, because i still have another one written by him sitting on my shelf… 💀
the ‘show don’t tell’ rule doesn’t exist here, pacing and events in the story are chaotic and the POV changes—while giving an interesting perspective most of the time—feel massively out of place at times. the book despite many fight scenes peppered throughout surprisingly lacked in the action department and they all felt copy-pasted, and too long whilst being too short at the same time, and i was mostly skimming over them later on.
for most of the story i feel like the characters were sitting around in the villa eating breakfast, drinking coffee even though they were supposedly being hunted down and that just made the story drag on unnecessarily; halfway through the story i was caring more for the captain Krčmár rather than the main group in the villa.
another issue—a lot of repetition of events, what characters do or think, or descriptions of characters’ appearance and their feelings—all that just became frustrating.
the FMC got worse and more insufferable the further in the story i was, often contradicting herself, changing her behavior and personality page by page (true bipolar kicia); and she’s that ‘generic hot girl who can fight and everyone is afraid of’—but that was something i expected from the get-go after reading the blurb on the back and the first few pages.
on top of that, the array of characters we meet, even if they were rather diverse were incredibly flat and unlikeable, neither felt well-developed, maybe because there were just too many of them.
overall very very mid, one positive thing about it is that can you breeze through the book quickly and the story is not super terrible, even though the execution is pretty poor

Chvíli mi trvalo zvyknout si na přednes paní Šternerové (po Martinu Stránském si upřímně budu těžko zvykat na někoho jiného) a bohužel občas sem se nezbavila dojmu, že vypravěčku kniha nebaví 😃.
I přesto však hodnotím 3* jelikož kniha byla zábavná a napínavá a po doposlouchání jsem si hned na audiotéce koupila další díl. Co mi přišlo zajímavé, bylo to, jak autor popisuje myšlení hlavni hrdinky, ať už se týče popisu oblečení, nebo třeba toho, jak je neustále překvapena, ze ji ostatní muži poslouchají. Některé zamyšlení mi přišly absurdní a úsměvné, ale přesto jsem ráda, že si můžu přečíst i nějakou akčnost, kde je hlavní hrdinkou žena.
Baví i odkazy na Jiřího Kulhánka. Za mě tedy vcelku povedená odpočinková četba a po Kulhánkovi, Kotletovi a Sněgoňové další české jméno, které si připisuji na svůj seznam oblíbených autorů.

Uvidime po dokonceni druhej knihy. Zatial zmes zabavy, trapnosti a vyslovenej koniny. Akoby to chcelo byt nieco ine ale autor tomu neveril, tak pocas cesty zmenil pristup a hral to na parodiu na seba a nemenovaneho kolegu z branze. Kazdopadne "omfg nieee" moment prisiel ked do toho vbehli prvky nekonecneho pribehu.
PS: Zambochova seria o Koniasovi a hned po nej Baklym je u mna v top 10 toho co som kedy z fantasy cital, cize autora sa bat netreba :)

Poslouchano jako audiobook. Vypravecka mi ze zacatku vubec nesedela, postupne jsem si trochu zvykla, ale.ze bych z ni byla nejak nadsena, to asi ne. Pribeh jako takovy nebyl spatny, jenom jsem se obcas trochu ztracela v postavach...

Knížka je to skvělá, moje hodnocení se ale vztahuje k interpretaci audiobooku. Přesto, že obdivuji interprety a musí to být neuvěřitelně náročné, tito interpreti bohužel nebyli tou nejštastnějšší volbou.

Kedysi som bol z tejto knihy nadšený, ale...kedysi. A začiatok má stále fajn, ale potom...ma to zase prejde. Akoby niektoré knihy len vypisovali do šablóny supermanovského deja, v ktorej sa mení meno postavy. A tentokrát ešte pohlavie.

Na stáří tohoto dílka je to fajn čtení. Ani za 16 let není kniha zastaralá a to ve sci-fi není vůbec špatný.
Jo není to nic fro fajnovky. A jde se na pokračování.

Přesně to co jsem chtěl, hezká akční knížka s takovej ten správnej mix. Super moc se mi to líbilo. A hezky jsem se nasmál u poslední kapitoly. No nic nezbývá nic jiného než druhý díl :-)

Když jsem Líheň četla poprvé, byla jsem z ní nadšená. A mou nejoblíbenější postavou byl jednoznačně Nowak Barbarossa. Po opětovném přečtení o více než deset let později už je mé nadšení o něco menší (ale sympatie k Nowakovi přetrvávají.) Z nostalgie uděluji čtyřhvězdičkové hodnocení.
