In this companion to Celebi’s first collection of short stories, Small Town Ghosts, we meet a teenage girl on the brink of madness, a little old lady who invites two weary travelers in for some lemonade and old-fashioned religion, a young woman who risks everything for love and juju, a dying grandmother with some last minute confessions, and a lonely child whose only request to Santa is a pretty baby dolly all her own.

Shannon Celebi writes speculative fiction in all its weird and wonderful forms. She lives in Medford, Oregon with her neurotic gray kitty, Buggy, and a dilapidated laptop named Persephone. Her short story collections, Small Town Ghosts, and Small Town Demons are available for Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and also in paperback.
Once again, Shannon's endless imagination and brilliant use of words have helped me escape! I opened "Small Town Demons", and did not close it until I saw the front of the back cover! I got hopelessly lost into a realistic world of love, pain, rage, and evilness. She brings to the surface what most of us feel inside with our innermost thoughts. We all have those inner demons that Shannon puts into words....the ones that look back at us from the corner of the darkest part of the human soul.... Well done, Shannon!
I received this book as a prize for a Goodread's giveaway. I really enjoyed all of the stories. A very different genre than I am used to reading. These are some strange stories, but very good! Will read more stories by this author.
I received this book as a giveaway from Goodreads. I enjoyed reading the book. It was a quick read that held my attention the entire time. I cannot wait to pick up SMALL TOWN GHOSTS.
Ms Celebi has quickly become my favorite author! Her stories grab you and before you know it, you are so immersed in her words that the world ceases to exist, even if only for a short time. I love how she has taken real life problems, heart aches, longings and brings out that little "demon" in all of us. For My Granddaughter Elaine, Upon My Death was especially touching ... How we sometimes settle for less than what we want and how we deal with that. The Girl Who Has Everything reminds us that we are not promised tomorrow, and we need to stop and cherish what we have now before it's too late. Eleven Winters In Purgatory is by far my favorite story ... It took me back to a time of my own childhood and let me know that everything is okay ... While each story had its own message ... how we each interpret it, is up to us. After all, we all have our own little demons inside us and we all can relate to each and every story. Bravo Ms Celebi for touching deep inside my soul! Your stories, including, Small Town Ghost has helped this reader heal more than you know!!
