This is a fanfiction based off of JKR's famous Harry Potter series. Their friendship was unlikely, but as time went on, she got to know the real person behind the cold mask. Friendship is golden when the world turns black. Take what you can get, and hold on to those you have. Through the efforts of Hermione, we learn who Draco truly is, the life he lives and hates, and the many secrets he holds within himself.
I loved this book because it took a highly miss-understood character, put him in an alternate universe to live out his life had he chosen to do the right thing and not become a minion of his father and Voldemort. Although at times weak, I truly feel in love with Draco and Hermione. I loved how Sunne put off them being a couple for so long, so that the tension was always there! Things that frustrated me about this book: 1) There were a few, albeit very few, grammatical/spelling errors or misuses of American words or phrases in this British works or inconsistencies between a British and American spelling of a word such as grey/gray. 2) This book started out great, and in my opinion, the first half is the best part because as the story progressed, Sunne seemed to loose steam, substituting well-thought out parallel universe scenarios for cut and paste scenes from the canon, only changing locations and characters. 3) Although completely up to the the author, I did not like her choice to leave Ginny to be the only clueless, heart-broken one in the end. She seemed to have no regard for the Harry/Ginny romance although spoken about some near the end of the book. Other than those, I truly loved it and could not put it down until it was finished! I am a sucker for heart-wrenching endings, however, if you are not, do not read.
