For those interested in a chronological portrayal of the life of Laura Ingall's Wilder, with references to her books and where evidence either confirms or denies the accuracy of her portrayal, this is a well-researched account.
This book has sat on my shelves and in storage boxes for nearly 5 decades, unread. It was a present to me as a child before I knew anything about the REAL Laura Ingall's Wilder (rather than the Laura Ingall's played by Melissa Gilbert that appeared on my television once a week). The children's book series had been a favorite of my older sisters, but to this day, admittedly, I have not read the series. I found this book once again in a storage box and finally decided to read it. I am glad I did.
