Colina must face her demons—both literally and figuratively—once and for all. The conclusion to the thrilling Dark Rituals series.
Colina has become the most notorious death dealer in the world, and the guilds blame her for the new wave of hatred and attacks that has descended upon their kind. The Guilds vow to make her pay for the atrocities she has committed.
But hiding from the Death Dealers is the least of her worries.
The Demon’s henchmen are on her trail.
And so is an anti-magic cult calling themselves the Redeemers.
On the run and on a quest to keep the Legion from opening a portal into the world once again, Colina must use her wits and dark powers to try and keep herself and her new friends alive.
Writing New Adult Paranormal Romance as Catrina Burgess and writing New Adult Angsty Contemporary as Friday Burgess
I write because it helps keeps the darkness away and reminds me that there is magic in the world. I live with one husband, two dogs, and a cat named Shitty Kitty in a small mining town in Arizona. At night this place is definitely spooky. I swear I’ve heard the wind giggle, and sometimes there’s a very odd breeze. Luckily, I love all things that go bump in the night. I adore old movies. I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan.
I’ve been known to eat pizza and cold Chinese food for breakfast, and I’m the queen of the board game Stratego. I’ve never been beaten. NEVER!
Legion is the fourth and final book of the Dark Rituals series by Catrina Burgess so I won't get too into what actually takes place in this book but a bit of a look back on what the series has been about.
Colina is a mage that grew up in a family of healers and had been studying to become a healer herself until a group of men came into her home and murdered her family. Fearing for her life and wanting revenge she seeks out a death dealer to learn the death arts to protect herself.
This book again picks up a short while after the one before. Colina and her friends are still fighting to banish the demon that was raised in the first book and fighting to save themselves from all the other problems that have stood in their way along the journey.
I actually enjoyed this series as a whole. All throughout the author has continued to add different abilities and things into this world so you never know what the characters will be able to do. Colina has gained death dealer powers mixed with her healer powers and has no idea what she has become but there are also other characters in the mix finding things they can do.
Each book has had a different thing within it to overcome during that book with an overall plot line that has carried on throughout the series which was also nice. There's always a bit of a cliffhanger but also an end to one part of the story.
4 stars for this final installment of the series. I felt it's picked up over the course of the books although book two was my least favorite of the group, once past that one it got a lot more exciting.
I have finally finished my Journey into the world of The Dark Rituals Series after what seems to me like an eternity after first discovering it on Wattpad.. However, I wish this wasn't the last book in the series as I have so many unanswered questions and I will definitely miss reading all about Colina's adventures. Catrina Burgess is an excellent writer and if you haven't read The Dark Rituals Series I highly recommend it, you'll love it. Trust me.
Literally every theory I had about what I thought would happen next was wrong. This book was great but now I want more! I think Mildred ended up being my favorite character. She's cooky and mysterious! I want more Colina and Luke. I want both Wendy and Dean to get their happily ever afters, because both of them went through so much in this series. Honestly, I'd love to see how things turned out for Darla too. I will be thinking about these books for a long time to come!
How to write a review of great book without spoilers? You don't talk about plot, just praise the book.
Short summary: Colina is growing up (in every meaning of the phrase) and wants to fix everything she believes she messed up. Legion is at the door and wants chaos. Darla wants justice and revenge. Luke and Dean want love and Colina. (I want Luke.) Freddy, omg how I love him, wants peace on earth and to help his friends. Gage wants to rule the world. Wendy, oh my poor darling Wendy, just wants her place in cruel world. Mildred wants coffee.
But who will get what they desire most?
Catrina Burgess leads her characters through so many challenges that you are at edge of your seat whole time, gripping table so you don't end up under it.
But the final act... It is just amazing. It's like watching a diver jump from a cliff, but you don't know if the diver knows there are rocks under the sea surface. You scream to warn him, but it's too late. All you can do now is chew your nails and hope for the best.
Who said females don't like blood, gore, fighting or horror? Oh how i loved those scenes in the castle. The Dark rituals series is faithful to the genre till the end.
End... why does it have to end? I want more of Dark Rituals, much more... at least 5 books more (and Luke. I want Luke).
This book was AWESOME!! From beggining to end there was no putting this book down. It had a bit of everything.. Magic, romance, and some wickedly awesome fight scenes! I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever and the wait was totally worth it! You are able to watch Colina grow and finally reach her potential while battling her inner demons as well as real ones. I give this book 5 stars!
Legion finalizes Colina’s long journey in this book series. She has escaped one evil to be thrown into yet another one all over again, and the guild wants her to pay for her sins. But when she strikes out on her own surrounded by the ones who will follow, things come to a thrilling conclusion.
Honestly this could even expand further than this book, but I definitely see the author’s point in taking it to its conclusion here and leaving things the way they are. I enjoyed this series very much and definitely would re read it in the future!
I loved the world created by Catrina Burgess, for sure. I read all the books quite fast, I couldn't get enough and I wanted to know what happened next. The only reason why this doesn't get 5 stars is the fact that Colina is so slow to understand things and then all of a sudden, everything clicks in her head and everything falls into place. I feel it was missing some gradual work towards the end goal.
I enjoyed this read it was chaos until the last page and I had no idea what would happen. Although this is the last book I would love more, or even a spin off about hunting the demons. Would definitely reccomend this series, it's very different to other things I have read.

I love this series and the characters will for ever hold a place in my heart. If you have not read theses books yet go and dive into this magical world it's amazing and I don't think you'll regret it 🥰🥰 I can't wait to read more by this amazing author
It was a good book. Some slow parts but overall good book. I wish there was another book because I want to know what happens next, lol. But I'm glad everyone lives, and I'm also glad Colina got her light back. She is more powerful than what she thought.

Ugh! An ambiguous ending. I need more! But I love it dearly. I especially love how the characters are constantly ruining each other's plans, both accidentally and purposefully.
Good paranormal series, bit was wanting an epilog as to what happened later. Did they finally catch Gage? Felt it was rushed and incomplete. Will there be a 5th book?
Once I finished reading Awakening, I bought the other three and read them back to back. I hope I'm not writing any spoilers, only what you will expect to see.
The people trying to bring forth the legion are out there. You'll learn what about the other experiments were. Just when you thought Wendy went through enough in book 3, you learn what happened to her. The little demon girl has a big role. The resolution of the Colina and Luke's relationship. Personally I was pulling for Luke, the poor guy went through hell. If Colina was a real person, I could have smacked her upside the head for what she put him through in this book. Finally, what was up with Mildred. I went through the gambit and liking and disliking her. By the end, I liked her.
Overall, I really liked Legion. It was a good mix of disturbing, satisfying, and surprising. I think if you've read the other 3, you will like this one too.
Wow what an ending that could possibly lead to another book. I just had to finish this series. Gruesome horror, action packed and romance to boot. My kind of book. I highly recommend this series. Sorry I won't give any spoilers, read it and see how awesome and chilling it is.
Ive read many paranormal books and this is unlike most. I had no idea what would happen next. The characters were interesting and well developed. There were some thing I’d like to have expanded on further but nothing that took away from a great paranormal read full of action.
The final book in the Dark Rituals series and, boy, does it impress!! The writer does an amazing job of weaving magic, horror, romance, and a load of kick-ass fight scenes together to make this the perfect ending to such an awesome series.
So... I finished this series as well and at the same time I am sad but happy. Let me tell you why: - The ending felt a bit rushed. I saw that there were just a couple more pages and the story would end and the action was still going on strong. Also, I got a little bit confused to as what was happening there. I am just glad that everything ended mostly well... - There are still many things that were left unanswered and there many more things to be told
- There was a lot of gore and things you wouldn't expect. - We finally find out why Colina had her gift. - Our characters become even more powerful and awesome but I still would have loved some more background story on each one of them. - In any case, it was a thrilling adventure and this series needs more attention!
