It told me most of what I needed to know about Minecraft. I don't know if it was really the ULTIMATE guide, but I may be asking for more than the computer game guide genre has to offer. The long digression into the building of underwater lairs could have been more productively spent with more thorough coverage of crafting recipes or details about the biomes.
Are there people who want to play Minecraft, but are waiting for a book that tells them how? This book would do the job. It is readable, accurate, and well-organized, but it is embarrassing to see books come to print with multiple errors of the your/you're and its/it's types.
Good book for starting out with minecraft! It doesn't tell you everything, but then... do you really want to know everything? It is for 1.6.2. At the time of this review, minecraft is 1.7.9. However, it still has a lot of useful information.
It is an excellent guide for the Minecraft beginner, and it has lots of useful tips - keep it around where you play as it can help you figure out what's going on, and what you need to do next.
