Shadow Squadron

Critical Strike

Rate this book
In the modern world of politics and warfare, the critical battles take place behind the scenes--and that's just where Shadow Squadron excels. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Commander Ryan Cross, this elite team of soldiers completes missions around the globe that no one else has the talent or training to handle. But as the team's successes mount, so does the complexity of their missions--and the best course of action becomes difficult to determine. In their Starred Review of Elite Infantry, Kirkus Reviews lauded the Shadow Squadron series as "breathtaking to the word" with "top-drawer renderings of secret military missions around the globe." This action packed series delivers exciting stories highly relevant to today's real-world conflicts.

Excellent book series. Quick reads. Great graphics. Action-packed. (Read them twice, a rarity for me)

"Spoiler Alert" Have you ever wanted to see what the army goes through just to protect us? well in this story it tells you how they communicate what they have to do to complete there mission and how they complete it.The genre of the book would be a Action Book because there's a mission they have to accomplished and they also have to fight bad people to accomplish there mission. My opinion of this book would be that's its good but not a lot of interesting parts happen, like one good part in the book was when they were communication and they said "Take him out""Yes Lieutenant Commander Ryan ,copy that" I like this part because it makes it more realistic.

The setting take place in Antarctica, I know this because in the text it say "Solider! where in the middle of Antarctica trying to save our country so get your act together and stop fooling around!" "Sorry Lieutenant,it won' t happen again." This story is about the modern world of politics and warfare in the critical battle, and the elite team of soldiers complete missions across the globe that no on else has the training to handle. The conflict in this story is person vs person because they come against enemy's that get in there way I know this because in the text it says "May Day where under attack!"The theme of the story is to never give up and keep trying over and over in, the story it says "Don't leave me try hard to do what you can but just don't leave me. "

I thought the end of the book was very simple because in the end they just complete and mission there is really nothing that just got me going all it said was "He was going to find the courage to face Chief Walker."My favorite part of the book was all the action, in the book it talks about how they have to successfully complete the mission and not to do nothing stupid in the book it says, " Kimiyo you'll take the guy on the left." The interesting thing about this thing book was never give up keep on trying. My favorite character in the book was Ryan Cross because he was in charge of everyone and he told his soldiers what to do.

The title relates to the book because the book has a picture in front of it and it shows a guy holding a gun which would probably be Ryan Cross and the girl is communicating through a walk -talki so you can tell right away that its a action book. The setting is at Antarctica and other places which this brings the conflict more higher because you can see that they travel a lot to complete there missions. The major symbol in this book is sometimes you have too take a bullet for the team to save millions of people. The authors tone is very series because in the text it says "Soldiers stop messing around and get you act together" so he tries to make it realistic as possible.

In conclusion, if I had to rate this book 1 through 5 I would rate it a 3 because they could of made the ending better with action instead they made it go to a different series so the book hasn't finish there is a second part to it. This book would be recommended to a person who loves action that deals with guns and also that kind of person who loves people that try to successfully complete missions to save the world. So overall this book is a good series it has many action parts and missions that they have to successfully complete to save the world.
