The book BMX Challenge by Jake Maddox is a great read, and it’s 65 pages are
worth your time. This is a realistic fiction book because it didn’t happen in real life, but it
could. Jake Maddox is a author of many book and this is not his first book.
In the book itself, the main character Jason laughs at Paul’s and his friends’ helmets
behind the school. Paul explains they are BMX helmets and then Jason says that’s for
babies. Then Paul lends him his bike and helmet and then dares him to do BMX bike
tricks in a few days. He asks his friend Stephen for help because Stephen’s brother
David used to do BMX biking to show how easy it is. He does a few tricks and then says
a mean comment to Paul that makes him dare Jason to go into the BMX professional
race.
The internal conflict man vs self because in the story because Jason has to
overcome his fear and do the dare. It is also man vs man because Paul is daring him in
the first place, but in the end he does do the dare. This means the theme is to never
give up.

I liked the book because it was quick and to the point. I also liked it because of the
ending which I will not spoil. I think a boys who likes quick reads would probably enjoy
this book because as I said earlier, it is quick and to the point.
I would give it a 4 out of 5 *

what i thought off this book was it was not that good because it was not that instreing out all because it was basecaly the carters trying to do changels on a bmx bike

The title of my book is BMX Challenge written by Jake Maddox. The story takes place in a park and in a bike riding competition. The main character is Jason who never turns down a dare and Stephan, his best friend. The conflict is between Jason and himself because he does not think before he speaks and gets himself in trouble. The second conflict is self verses others because he has to beat them in the competition. Jason trains to beat the others in the race. The theme is coming of age. Jason learns that he should not talk before he thinks and that if you work hard your work will pay off. What makes this book good is the character, Jason who gets into lots of trouble but never gives up.


The element of fiction that made the book super good was the main character, Jason. Jason is a round character because he never turns down a dare and doesn’t control his mouth. This makes him a round character because he acts like real children in and out of school. Jason is also a dynamic character because he stopped doing dares and started to control his mouth a bit. This makes Jason a dynamic character because he changed.
Jason always gets into trouble because he never turns down a dare. When his neighbour dared him to jump from a roof, he did and broke his ankle. Jason never gives up which makes him interesting and stronger. When he was racing Paul, a good strong rider, Jason fell. Instead of giving up, he told Paul if he had more time he would have beaten Paul. He never quit training even though Stephan made him pedal until he was tired. During the competition, Jason fell but did not give up. He stood up and rode his bike to the finish line. Jason is a good friend because he is grateful. He helps Paul get into a BMX team.

I would recommend this book because it’s exciting and interesting and the character, Jason always gets into trouble because he does not think before he talks. If gave him a dare, he would not turn it down. This character is very generous. He helped the person that dared him. The most exciting part of the story is when Jason races with professional BMX riders and beats them at their game. As one can see, BMX challenge is considered a very exciting because of the character and the race.

Jason often speaks before he thinks, which gets him into trouble. When he mouths off in front of a group of BMX bikers, he ends up accepting their challenge to compete. His best friend Stephen helps him train, and he wins the competition, against all odds. While many will enjoy the fact that the book focuses on bike racing and will relate to Jason, his winning seemed highly unlikely to me. It's great that he's learned his lesson about mouthing off, but the story seemed too didactic for my tastes.
