This book okay for those who want to make or eat typical treasures on back roads. It did not have the recipes I was looking for. It did have a nice content page of each region and restaurant. I which that had gone a bit further in stating which dishes were at each instead of going to the index. Many dishes were repeated but that is fine because people and restaurants do things differently. Still I was hoping for Renge' and Lovoy recipes. Even though those lovely restaurants were not back road ones. I will continue my search.

It’s a little dated and a lot of the recipes felt repetitive. It did have a few new ones as well as a lot of good old fashioned southern classics both is recipes and restaurants. It would be interesting to see how many of the restaurants survived COVID, as this book was written pre-COVID.
