We bonded in darkness, over darkness.

Melanie Vaughn’s job ruined everything. Her social life, nonexistent. Her relationship with her boyfriend, a hostile roommate situation. She resolves to fix everything one snowy afternoon, but instead comes home to discover her boyfriend is already exploring other options. Blonder, bustier options. Rage drives Melanie to do the unthinkable.

When Soul Divider was on the top of the world, so was Ryder Maddox. When the band faded into obscurity, Ryder’s luck plummeted with it. In a last ditch effort to rekindle the band’s heyday, Soul Divider teams up with powerful vampire clan leader, Talis de Rancourt. In return for her services, the band pays the ultimate price for never ending fame.

Now on the run, Melanie meets Ryder in a middle of nowhere hotel. She never expected her teenage rock star crush to be as lost and as in need of a companion as she is. Their connection is all consuming, even before they find they share another kinship: murder.

The newly turned vampires in Soul Divider still have a lot to learn. The police and public begin to connect the girls that go missing or die in sync with the band’s tour schedule. Back at home, clues are also adding up against Melanie as well. Between constant media coverage and unrelenting attention from the authorities, Melanie and Ryder find themselves in uncharted territory.

Kristen Strassel is far cooler than she’ll make herself sound in this bio. She enjoys spending time with the voices in her head—nudging the characters toward those bad decisions and a happily ever after. When she’s not writing, she’s often still in the land of make-believe—doing makeup for film and television. And when she’s not doing any of that, she enjoys making her house look like a Pinterest board, watching football, and road trips to the middle of nowhere.

From the driven-to-the-brink and pushed off the brink Melanie to sextastic Erin, from sure and steady Ryder to self-important jerk Drake, these characters push you to keep reading to see what the hell they'll do next. A cast that somehow manages to fit together with an incredible realism, they drive each other to do things that keeps the pages turning. Part love story, part fish out of water, part vampire sexiness, part wild crime adventure, this is a book with a plot so interweaved and twisted together, you'll be happy to be its next victim.

Kristen Strassel is evil. Why? Because her writing will suck you in with awesome characters and don't-breathe-until-it's-over situations. This story, and the one before it, intertwine and just MESH so fucking beautifully (that ending! Aaahhh!) And the plot twists will keep you turning pages! I so was not ready for this book and how thrilling it is. Was. Not. Ready.

Oh and Melanie the main character—I. LOVE. HER. She's so flawed and she's very aware of it. Thing is, she's unapologetically real about it. Which is just the dopest thing.

Waiting for more in this series MIGHT kill me. Hopefully Undead Candice is as fabulous as the undead are in this book.

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Night Songs Collection. The characters were brought together due to circumstances that were not exactly something anyone would want to be dealing with (Melanie's situation was brought on by something that was pretty shocking to me actually) but but both found a way to make the best of an unfortunate situation through each other. Melanie and Ryder were both enjoyable characters. I didn't get tired of either one of them. I liked how they were somewhat protective of each other and I really enjoyed how Melanie was not afraid to stand up to people that were treating her badly.

Kristen's writing is very enjoyable. She weaves a story well and it is interesting to note that the end of this book ends up crossing over into events in Because The Night. I wished at times for the pacing to be a little bit quicker, but that is something I look for in most books I read and I can be a little bit hard to please when it comes to how fast things are moving in a book.

I thoroughly enjoyed Night Moves and look forward to seeing where the 3rd book in the series goes as the paths of the first two books are certain to now collide.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.

If I'm totally honest I was enjoying this book until the last line and then it was a case of 'what? Really, you're ending it there??'

I'm not a great lover of cliff hangers anyway but this left me feeling that the book had been snatched away from me. I was miffed and almost wanted to reduce the stars given but to be fair, I had been enjoying it until then.

There were a few times where I found the situation a bit far fetched - the murder particularly - but I enjoyed the characters and the story enough to slide over them. Ryder was lovely. The characters were consistent and likeable.

On the whole a good read and I'd love to know what happens next.

I have to admit that this is not my usual reading material. At the first chapter, I wasn't sure what to think. But as I kept reading I got totally sucked in by the snarky voice, the dark underbelly and the hot scenes. Night moves is steamy and sexy. A cold shower might be in order after reading this book!

Hey guys! I'm super excited to bring you my review of Night Moves by Kristen Strassel, so read on...

Night Moves is the second book in the Night Songs series. I personally loved reading Tristan and Callie's story and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book, which doesn't disappoint.

I will admit before reading a book I try not to read the synopsis or any other reviews if I know I am going to read the book because I don't want to have any preconceived notions about where I think the story should go. I was expecting to read a book about Immortal Dilemma however, I ended up falling a little bit in love with Soul Divider. Night Moves was definitely a good book, but there were a few things that kind of threw me for a loop along with a few "stand up and cheer" moments.

I want to get the things that I had issues with out of the way so we can get to the great stuff. Kristen writes beautiful stories very grounded in reality with the exception of the whole undead thing, but moments like Jamie's demise took me out of the book. She is one woman and I had a bit of a struggle finding the circumstances of his death believable, I just didn't find it physically possible. I know that his death is the catalyst for Mel starting her journey, it just gave me pause. I love the character of Mel, I would have loved to see a little more growth from her though. She seemed to almost regress in some scenes with Ryder. I get it, she was young when she had her big crush on him but she could be super strong willed and three scenes later ridiculously weak. I think Drake has a lot to do with that and it makes sense. More than anyone, I found Erin to be the most lacking in character development. I understand why she flipped back and forth between her loyalty to Drake and Mel but the transition was a little rough. Speaking of Drake, he is your classic bad guy who you will love to hate! And he really helps to move the story forward.

Now on to the things I loved!! The chemistry in this book is awesome! Ryder and Mel start off with such a silly little one night stand but staying together feels so natural. You really connect with Ryder through the book and feel his anguish every time he talks about the life he had before and the parts he wants back. There is also some great character contrast between all the band members. If you read the fist book Because the Night and it's companion novel you can appreciate the expansion of Kristen's supernatural world like I did. The story telling is fast paced and exactly what I have come to expect from Kristen. The human characters struggling with the extra ordinary circumstances of the world she places them in is a ride I enjoy every time I pick up her books.

There are a bunch of twists and turns throughout this book and in the interest of not spoiling for you guys I shall leave you with this, read it. If you have read her other books or are just a fan of a little supernatural romance with a touch of spice thrown in Night Moves is worth your time. I'll leave you with an excerpt and you can judge for yourself. Happy Reading

“We can’t change what we’ve done, we can only change the future. We still have the future. Let’s not throw it away.”

That’s what Melanie says to her vampire-rockstar-lover Ryder in NIGHT MOVES, the latest entry in Kristen Strassel’s sexy, edgy NIGHT SONGS series. I jotted that line down as soon as I read it, because it pretty much sums up the book’s appeal for me.

It starts off as a seriously shocking revenge fantasy: Melanie finds her louse of a boyfriend cheating with their downstairs neighbor and commits a stunning crime in the heat of fury that’ll upend her life forever. Suddenly she’s on the run. She ditches everything—her nowhere job, her old rut. She has no clue what the future holds until she bumps into her old crush Ryder, now an established rock musician and SECRET VAMPIRE, who invites her on tour and pulls her into a makeshift witness protection program (er, “perpetrator protection program”). Ryder’s got his own troubles, from his endless head-butting with arrogant frontman Drake to the memories of his left-behind family, and he and Melanie cling to each other like flotsam in a cold night ocean.

NIGHT MOVES will be deeply appealing to all sorts of romance readers; it plays to so many of our most primal, tempting fantasies. When times get really tough, who doesn’t dream of changing everything, just getting in a car and driving nowhere fast? Who hasn’t thrilled to the thought of starting over in a whole new place with no plan and no one to answer to? Who wouldn’t love a white-hot secret affair with someone both wild and devoted—and just as screwed up as you? Strassel knows how to build an irresistible premise and keep the tension cranked high at the same time. We get to revel in Melanie’s new life on the road and root for a future for her and Ryder, but we also know it’s just a matter of time before the cops put two and two together and track her down. (And then there’s that pesky vampire underworld throwing extra black flies in the Chardonnay...)

Another great thing about this book is the nuanced female friendship between Melanie and Erin, and old friend and fetish model who’s entangled with the loathsome Drake. Mel and Erin respect each other, challenge each other, and fight like sisters. They point out the cracks in each other’s romantic liaisons – “Are you both working on it, or just you?” – and help each other survive within the confines of this narrow, dark world they’ve committed themselves to. I love a romance that doesn’t skimp on developing supporting relationships, and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Readers of Strassel’s other NIGHT SONGS books will love the way the climactic showdown dovetails with Because the Night – I wasn’t expecting the way it unfolded, but it was actually perfect and got me stoked for the conclusion. (Be prepared: The cliffhanger will have you shouting.)
Recommended for lovers of paranormal page-turners, super-sexy vampire romance, and taut tales of lovers on the run. Stands on its own, but read Strassel’s Seasons in the Sun and Because the Night for background and context.

Let me start by saying that well I am really a huge fan of this series, I sort of feel like we could have had so much more from this installment. Please don’t think this changes my mind about telling you to read this installment in the series, but just know it gives you an insight to the world removed from the lights of Vegas and The Mistress, Talis de Rancourt.

The book starts on the east coast and centers the chance meeting of Ryder and Melanie. Ryder is a member of Soul Divider well Melanie was a member of the corporate investment field. The past has resulted in a very unclear future for these two characters and they bond quickly over their losses. What they come to realize slowly is that they can’t change the past, but their future is something within their grasp.

“We can’t change what we’ve done, we can only change the future. We still have the future. Let’s not throw it away.”

I will say I found it a bit odd how quickly Melanie could escape from her past…..It seemed like she should have been caught shortly after they found her boyfriend, but what do I know in a world that vampires seem to rule. I thought it was funny how fate brought Ryder into Melanie’s years after her teenage crush and it seemed like the perfect time for both characters. Ryder is truly a unique male rocker and he has no shortage of affection towards Melanie. He knows first hand what he has given up and isn’t willing to loss Melanie and all that she brings to his world. I do wish he would not be so passive aggressive, but when the time comes he stands his ground and made the tough call.

“Ryder, I”m proud of you. Because I love you. I believe in you more than you believe in yourself. Now you have no one to hold you back.”

I just wish the males took a more direct approach with the future of the clan versus leaving it to the head female. I so don’t know what to think of Erin and the future of Rachel and Ryder’s daughters……...I hope more will come of this in the future installments.

The best part of this book was the development of the characters that will be an active part of the future of The Vegas Clan. Melanie is one strong human female and her first hand knowledge of the male vampires and in turn a female is valuable knowledge. What I love most about her is that she doesn’t have a problem speaking her mind even if it isn’t a situation where she has the upper hand.

We are left with a huge shocker at the end of this book and it will make you rush out for the next book. Make sure to grab We Own the Night, as we get the return of Blade, Callie and Tristan along with the new crowd from Soul Divider.

This book was not what I expected, but it was fine. I like the plot, so different from the typical vampire things today. So many twits, so many tricks that you could never expect. My favorite character was Ryder. He's so sexy and cool, but he is good, and gentleman and, even when the hard path he had lived, he hasn't destroy his soul and try to be as good as he is willing to. He wants a new life and to find the love he has lost thanks to this state he didn't ask for. But maybe the best of the book was the final scenes. The last few chapters really keep me into the story. In that point you're so into the action and really scared of what The Mistress going to do to them and the the last line. I read it like more than three times to really understand because I was like on shock (in a good one). I also like the fact that, in this vampire's civilization, the ones whom rule this world are women. Even when there's clans and all that archaic things, I really like that women have men under control.

A good read, full of twits and with a sexy male character.

This book has all the right moves, so the title is especially appropriate. Melanie screws up in the worst way you could possibly imagine, and she does what any sane person would do--she runs, only she trips and falls straight down the metaphorical rabbit hole. If you want to live out your teenage fantasy of meeting your favourite band member in a lonely hotel, look no further.

I loved Melanie and Ryder's relationship--it was believable, which is a *must* when you're writing about a girl who meets and hooks up with a member of her favourite band. The way they fix one another is beautiful even as it's hot and sexy.

The book doesn't rely on vampires to make it happen. It writes its own story, and the vampires just fall into place as part of the fun.

(And Drake. You will love to hate Drake.)

"Why was it we couldn't say what we really needed to say until life had us down on our knees, begging for mercy"

In the second installment of The Night Songs collection, we are once again lured into Kristen Strassel's vampire rock band world with a page turning story of murder, lust, and betrayal.

I was surprised to see that the main characters in this novel were different from the first, but trust me, it all starts to make sense and come full circle in the end. Kristen's writing, as usual, is full of humor, mystery, and sometimes amazingly "WTF" moments that make you desperate to know what comes next. She knows how to torture her readers just enough to make them squirm, and she writes some KILLER sex scenes.

I look forward to seeing how she rounds out this series with the third book, and I CAN'T WAIT for the return of some of my favorite characters.

Characters: Human and vampire alike, Kristen created a diverse and dynamic cast in NIGHT MOVES. Every character has depth and dimension that you don't always find in a book filled with vampires or rock stars (or in this case vampire rock stars). I found characters to love, hate, sympathize with, and cheer for within the pages of NIGHT MOVES.

Relationships: This book isn't just about what happens between Ryder and Melanie. NIGHT MOVES is an intriguing look at the relationship dynamics across the entire cast of characters. The choices that each of them makes throughout the story impacts the situations and decisions the others are forced to deal with. The romance alone would have been steamy, but the added complexity with Soul Divider and those surrounding the band kicked the book up a notch.

Too Perfect or Perfectly Flawed: No question, NIGHT MOVES is made up of flawed characters and the tangled mess they make of things. This is no fairy tale with a clear path to a happy ending. This is a twisting path that will keep you turning pages and wondering what will happen next.

Having read the first book in the collection, BECAUSE THE NIGHT, I thought I had some idea of what to expect when reading NIGHT MOVES. Then the prologue ended and the first chapter held the first of several surprises. I was hooked and couldn't wait to find out how Kristen was going to navigate the mess Melanie created. Kristen's books aren't for the faint of heart, but if you enjoy vampires, rock bands, and a dark edge, I recommend grabbing a copy and diving in for a thrill.

I rated it 4 stars because there were parts where I wanted more, and the ending left me trying to find more pages on my Kindle to explain what just happened. I can't wait for the third book to see how things play out now that the first two have intersected so dramatically.

Night Moves is the second book in the Night Songs series. I loved reading Tristan and Callie's story and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book, which did not disappoint at all.

I was thought I was going to read a book about Immortal Dilemma but instead I was introduced to and kind of fell in love with Soul Divider. Night Moves was definitely a good book but there a couple of moments that kind of just had me asking “WTF”.

I loved Mel but would have loved to seen her grow some. She seemed to flip from strong willed and confident to a mousy little girl. Considering the circumstances that brought her to Ryder and Soul Divider you think she would be a strong kick ass girl at all times.

I absolutely loved the chemistry between Ryder and Mel. They started off with such a crazy little one night stand but staying together feels so natural. I really connected with Ryder and could feel his pain and regret every time he talked about the life he had before and who he would like to reconnect with.

I love the fast paced storytelling and the descriptive way she wrote it makes me feel like I can see and hear everything the characters can. I can feel what they’re feeling – especially Mel’s hate for Talis I hope she gets what’s coming to her. I also love the human struggle with dealing with the super natural world they unknowingly live in.

There are a lot of twists and turns throughout this book and so I don’t spoil it I will tell you this; READ IT! Go back and get the first book and then read this one. And the cliffy in this one – is AWESOME! I am so looking forward to book 3! I cannot wait.

Strassel’s writing takes off from the first page of this novel and doesn’t stop until the very end. Her approachable and vividly charismatic writing paints this enticing world right before your eyes. There’s much more intrigue and suspense in this novel than the previous ones in the series. There’s also a much more intense storyline. I love Strassel’s take on Vampires. It’s unique without rebuilding the entire supernatural world.

I do have to take a moment to comment on the ending of this novel, or lack thereof. There is something to be said for cliffhangers in a novel but Strassel goes way beyond that. She stops writing & switches POV. That said, she also includes chapter 1 of the sequel, We Own The Night, at the end which does give the reader a sense of foreboding & hope while leaving them hanging for so much more. It also gives you a sneak peek into how the two storylines in this amazing series will come together as one.

There was definitely a wide range of characters in this novel. Each was developed in their own right and was a sight to behold. I will admit that there are times that I had a hard time connecting with the female lead. She was very real and understandable but got whiny when she didn’t get her own way. That said, I love the mood swings in the female characters. Strassel’s women go from happy-go-lucky to bat crap crazy in the blink of an eye.

I definitely enjoyed this unique novel. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next. I’m personally hoping to see a melding of Immortal Dilemma & Soul Divider, or a meeting thereof.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

When I started, Night Moves, I didn't realize that it was the second book (actually third, if you count the prequel) in a series. Not that it matters that much, as you can read this one alone, and still enjoy it very much. Of course, after reading it, I had to buy the other three books (yep, there's another one after Night Moves). From the very beginning, Night Moves grabs you and keeps you reading.

The main character, Melanie, has devoted herself to her job, leaving her long-time boyfriend a bit neglected. Determined to put more effort into their relationship, she promises to spend more time with him, starting with getting off of work early because of a snow storm. Coming home unexpectedly, she finds him in bed with their sexy neighbor. Losing her cool, she does something that causes her to pack up some stuff, and take off. For the rest of the book, we follow Melanie on the run but, instead of hiding in random, run-down motels, she hooks up with a rock star.

Joining Ryder, and his bandmates, on his tour bus, Melanie expects excitement but not in the way she finds it. Come to find out, the band members are all vampires. Not only do they like blood but they also thrive off of humans' energy, which brings a whole, new meaning to the high that musicians get from performing.

Keeping one step ahead of the police, Melanie and her new friends run into all kinds of different characters. Some make it out alive. Some don't.

Bad guys, good guys, dead or alive, the characters will keep you enthralled. Getting inside their heads is almost as intriguing as the plot. Twists and turns, romance, murder and sex, this one has it all.

Kristen is killing me with these cliffhangers and I think she likes it. I'm over here dying and she's following one cliffy up with another. I like how in this book my hatred of Talis has just grown substantially. And I felt like Melanie and I were the only ones. drake was another one I felt like Ryder wasn't seeing clearly on. I mean come on the guy was an asshole to everyone around, especially The band and Erin . And no one stood up to him. Erin was just too far gone and I was just waiting for Mel to see that. She sure had blinders on. Though I can understand Mels need to have Erin around it was clear she was dead weight. And I'm so confused by what Ryder did. I was seriously surprised. I expected Mel to pull some back handed shit but not Ryder. I am still surprised. I really like their relationship - Ryder and Mel. Though it feels like it's missing something to me. I don't know what it was but you could feel the space building between them two. You could sense it. It just didn't seem like it went away. And the end. The cliffy. When will we find out how this all ties together. When!?!? Gah! Ultimately I liked the book, I liked the first one better. But this one was good too. I give it

Sexy, guilty pleasure reading that was more than romance. It's a lot about power and what happens when we let the wrong people have it (in Ryder's case) and in Melanie's, how much burying herself in her career really cost her.

More gruesome than I was expecting, and I was curious to see what kind of consequences Melanie would face at some point. Thin development in some places (esp. would have liked to know more about Melanie's background) where the story could have been stronger and some clunky sentences but otherwise I was hooked and finished this in less than 2 days.

As a mostly contemp reader, the paranormal elements worked for me and I feel more comfortable trying out this genre again.

Other pros: the importance of female friendship, and a real love of music in this book. (I also laughed a bit too!)

Also NA details: Melanie was 24 and Ryder was in his 30s [divorced and had two kids] so this could fall in the "grown up" category as well.

Melanie is on the run after doing something so horrible and can never fix. She drives until she HAS to stop. At the hotels bar, Melanie is completely shocked to see Ryder Maddox, guitarist for the band Soul Divider. They are exactly what the other has been needing. Ryder also has a terrible secret. In order for Soul Divider to once again become as popular as they once were, the band mates sold their souls to a powerful vampire.

I loved this book! It truly has it all... Rock stars, tattooed guys, Vampires, murder, mystery and SEXY sex!! I could not put it down. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

This was a fun read. I am not much into vampires, but I am a big music buff. The idea of running away and meeting my favorite musician, and then going on tour with them is a fun thought. Ryder is hot. I did like the mystery note in it and there was some laughs. Now I have to read the the first book!

This book is used to introduce you to Melanie and Ryder and their story. In my opinion, Melanie was the leader in this "power" couple. At times I really needed Ryder to grow a pair.....eventually he did and hence my favorite quote from the book "Ding dong the witch is dead".

Second in the series – Ready for More!!

Follows “Because the Night” in the Night Songs Collection – a stories of Las Vegas, Rock Bands and Vampires. Whether human or vampire; you can find yourself in a tough situation.
“We bonded in darkness, over darkness. Each of us had been responsible for someone taking their last breath. It was a kinship very few could understand”

A darker read; and you can feel it weaving threads together for the next in the series.

I expected book 2 to pick up from book 1. I had to go back to figure out where the characters from this book came from. If I had listened to this one directly after book 1, it probably would have made more sense. I guess this could have been a standalone, but it left me hanging at the end. It was still a good paranormal romance. I guess I'm going to have to move right in to book 3 in order to finish out the series and hopefully pull the stories together. The narrator was okay. Not my favorite, but she did a good job.

If I’m going to live forever, I don’t want to do it without you. 5 FANGS UP!

Someday, we’ll see in ourselves what we see in each other. I ABSO-FANG-LUTELY LOVE this story! Mind, body, soul, blood. So very much so that I don't even know where or how to begin to explain all of the reasons why! There's so many little things, big things, multiple storylines, shockers, romance, mystery, suspense, love, friendship *whew* just to start the list off. You get to follow the story of Melanie & Ryder, who are both great characters. They are full of surprises doing things I didn't see coming, nor would I have expected. That is yet one more item on the "Why This Book (and series) Is So Vamplicious"! And really, who has not had a teen crush on a member of a band, but how many can say that a few years later they actually get the chance to live out their dreams (and fantasies *wink wink*) with that same crush?! So many times I thought something would happen. So many times I was wrong. Things either did not happen like I thought or they didn't happen at all! I love how this story is a vampire romance and yet it is so much more than that too! It has this great deeper storyline that focuses on characters, situations, secondary characters as well as having a darker tone that enriches the story tremendously creating one helluva FANGTASTIC & VAMPELICIOUS story I never want to end!! I am so addicted to this series!! I know I drank the Vampire Kool-aid and this feeling, this pull that has me so mesmerized and all but drooling for more stories must be what they refer to as the Bloodlust! I am utterly blown-away with just how FANGTABULOUS this book, as well as the series! It is written so magically, so beautifully, that from the moment I started reading the series, it has claimed me right down to the very depths of my soul! I get lost in its story and the characters and don't come up for air until I absolutely must, or when the unspeakable happens - the book ends, whichever comes first. This is the second book I have read - just need to get the prequel - and I have read almost all of each book – full length novels - in one sitting! I had to constantly make myself slow down to enjoy each & every single piece, part, sentence and not rush through it just to find out what’s going to happen next. But boy was that hard! I was just so immersed into it, consumed actually, living it right along with them! I cannot wait to get the chance to read through the entire series every time a new release is upcoming. The Night Songs series will instantly ensnare you and have you spellbound, keeping you captivated, fascinated & mesmerized from the start to the very end. The Mistress, I mean Kristen, is a vamptastically gifted author!! I cannot wait to read all of her paranormal books whether they are already released or still to be written, many times over, for years & years to come!

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

THIS ISN’T AIN’T A LOVE SONG… 5 BLOODY HEARTS

The blood would betray me if it kept chasing his lips. And I wanted more. Our lives were forever intertwined. Our blood was one. I wished I knew how to put his heart back together. HOLY HOTNESS!! What a truly FANGNOMENAL Rock'n & Roll'n Vampire story and a half!! WOW!!! Right from the start I knew this would be a story like no other and not because I read the original version when it was released in 2014! :-) While I do remember loving it, I don't remember every little detail. HOWEVER, in some ways that's a great thing! I lost myself in this new, revamped version without comparing it to my first VAMPTASTIC experience. And boy did I EVER get lost! I was so deeply embedded within this story, literally living it through Melanie's eyes, experiencing it ALL - the good & the bad - with, for and AS Melanie, truly BEING Melanie!! This story literally exploded to life in full color, sights, sounds, thoughts & emotions all around me! Kristen's descriptive storytelling combined with complex, real characters, pulse-pounding lust & need and nerve-wracking situations, enhance and deeply enrich this story, immersing me COMPLETELY, as deeply as possible, into this FANGASMIC Vampire World! I have read all of Kristen's paranormal books ever since I discovered her - with the original Night Songs Collection as a matter of fact - and I have loved every single one of them!! But I think that this is her BEST WORK EVER!!! I honestly thought that Kristen was tremendously talented from the beginning, so that sometimes makes it difficult to see or say she has grown, expanded, improved on that perfection, but I realized when I was working on my review that I actually read this book from start to end, all in one afternoon on my couch, with only 2 pee breaks (LOL)!!! For a 70+k book, that is a record for me! So, it may be subtle, but yes, over the "years" and numerous books, Kristen has honed her skills, improving her craft, making me fall in love all over again! Kristen is phenomenally talented and genuinely & exceptionally gifted author who has more than earned her place under the sun... I mean moon, as THE Mistress of ALL of the clans! So if you love vampires and authors who can think out of the box, create their own addictive vamps who can make you bloodlust with a bat of their sexy immortal eye, then THESE ARE THE VAMPIRES FOR YOU!!
