“You’ve chosen to walk into the lion’s den tonight, sub. There’s no hiding here. Especially not from me.” ~Lucas
Shay Green has decided to give in to temptation and try out her secret erotic fantasies at a Fetish club called Tempest. But when a scene goes wrong she starts to wonder if this might be more then she can handle. Her plea's for her Dom to stop inflicting pain go unanswered. The whip goes to crack through the air again.... When a voice suddenly breaks through, interrupting the scene...
“I’m not usually one to interrupt a scene, but I believe the lady wants you to stop.” Shay nearly sobbed in relief, the sound almost drowning out Bobby’s reply: “Well, you are interrupting,” he snapped. “No! Please,” she interjected quickly. “I want to stop.” She tried to crane her head back to look at her tormentor and her savior, but her restraints prevented her from seeing them. Please, she thought desperately. Please listen to me. She forced her tone to harden. “I may be a submissive, but I do have rights.” “We’re not finished-” Began Bobby’s cruel voice. “Do you want to use your safe word, sub?” The stranger cut across him.“Safe word?” Shay asked. She had heard of those, but Bobby hadn’t discussed them with her.
Shay is released from her restraints and quickly whisked away. When She finally gets an up close and personal look at her rescuer she is genuinely pleased not only by what she sees but what she hears too.
'God, his voice was sexy: a deep rumble that sent tingles up her spine. And that accent! Yummy. He was definitely English. What American woman didn’t love a guy with an English accent? She was suddenly acutely aware of the fact that she was almost naked and in the arms of a complete stranger. A sexy stranger whose gorgeous eyes were roving up and down her body appreciatively.'
Lucas is captivated by the gorgeous curvacious red head in his lap. After she willingly submits to him, he decides that he wants more time with her. He offers up the chance for Shay to be his sub for a weekend. And she accepts.
The meeting Billionaire Lucas Cross is currently in Charlotte, N.C. to look at designs for his new state side headquarters. Even though he should be focused on work he can't seem to get his mind off the sub he met at Tempest. Shay will be the first woman he has had in over three years, for more than one night.
Busy trying to gather her nerves and her paper work for her meeting, Shay starts to prep for her new client. Only to be thrown off by said clients identity. Lucas Cross aka the sexy guy she recently met at Tempest.
It doesn't take long for the awkwardness to subside before the sexual tension sets in. Thankfully Shay's boss interrupts and the meeting carries on in a professional manner.
The weekend Lucas is excited to show Shay the wonderful world of BDSM. However he is not excited when they run in to his business partner Jonathan at a sex club. Jonathan is also a Dom.
'Shay realized that her mouth was hanging open slightly as she stared at Jonathan. She snapped it closed quickly as Lucas said her name, calling her back to reality.' “Jonathan, this is Shay.”
Shay immediately picks up on a change in Lucas after Jonathan's arrival. It's subtle but a change none the less. Lucas is jealous. She quietly tucks that info away. Since he is not looking for a sub Lucas decides that after this weekend he will no longer see Shay. This decision leaves an opening for his business partner, Jonathan. His rival.
Jonathan is an American, he has a charming southern accent and is drop dead gorgeous. Once back state side he does not hesitate to invite Shay out. She says yes! Shay soon realizes that Jonathan is not only in to BDSM but is a Dom too, just like Lucas.
While Jonathan may be fun and sexually spontaneous. Lucas is seductive and has already managed to ensnare Shay's heart.
They both want her. But only one can have her...
All this sexual fun is about to come to a head as jealousy and rivalry carry deadly effects.
My Thoughts I enjoyed this read. I do think this is more so for smut lovers. The tone was more on the fantasy side, it had some unrealistic aspects. For instance I do not recall any mention of condoms or protection what so ever. To me that is more fantasy erotic style story telling. You know what I'm referring to right? When the characters have wild sex but never worry about the consequences. Yeah, that. Don't get it twisted, it's nothing wrong with this style of writing. I just felt it necessary to mention in the review. The story also took a very unexpected turn plot wise. It had a little suspense thrown in which was fun.
My Ratings Characters- Likeable Writing Style- Fair Plot/Storyline- Good Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy Overall- I liked it! Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads! For more reviews got to http://realitybites-letsgetlost.blogs...
What a HOT Ride !!!!! First I must thank Julia for Sending me the complete series to read, It was Amazingly HOT !!!!!!

This has total BDSM in it , and let me tell you it is one HOT read for sure . it also has a little mystery and suspense in it as well . I thought it was a very well written book .
I Loved Lucas , he was a Hot , steamy , Dark , Dominate Man who definitely lived up to the part in the book. He knew what he wanted , but also at the same time he knew how to try to Protect Shay as well .
Shay , Cute, New to BDSM and decides to go to a fetish club for the first time , after having a Very bad experience with a Dom in the club she is rescued by Lucas and the rest is all about being a sub, from her body telling her what it wants to her fight with her heart about who she loves and wants .
Jonathan , Crazy , Pyscho , Dominate , monster of a man .. Yeah I did not like him from the first moment and the book helped me to understand why my gut said don't like him .
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read BDSM . It was a great read for sure .
WOW! First off I want to thank Julia for the gift! "Torn: Caught between the Billionaires" was my favorite series of from her. Many were comparing this to Fifty Shades, but honestly--it really is nothing like it. I mean it is about the BDSM world, but again---nothing really in common. Not that it is a bad thing--just wanted to point it out.
Now-- if you are into some hard core BDSM ---this is YOUR series!! There is a lot of it I am not into-- so some of it was a little off putting too me. I hated how he called her sub all the time more than anything--it was just so degrating to me. lol calling someone Sir is fine but Master...wow. I am sorry I cannot stomach that. Again-- it just goes to show we all have our own brand of BDSM--some moreso than others.
OOOOOOKKKAY--- now my review of this book. Now I thought it was written nicely and I SO enjoyed the triangle between Shay, Lucas & Jonathan!!!
Enters Lucas....and I was like OMG sexy Dom coming to the recuse... "His midnight-black hiar was shortly cropped and slightly mussed.....And his eyes: a bright, mesmerizing bottle-green"
But than I was like... Ohmy I cannot handle his brand of DOM.. Adding another women in the mix and men touching...ohmy I do not share!!
But than OHMY!!...Lucas...I mean Sir..
And just when I thought DAYUM I want only Lucas.....
Enters Jonathan ..."The man could give Lucas a run for his money on the hotness scale, only where he was dark and serious, this stranger was golden blong with mischievous twinkle in his eye"
Yessssss...I def want him..
Okay...so at this point I am like WTF!?! LUCAS!!!! NO WAIT....JONATHAN!!! NO.....OHMY!! I cannot make up my mind!
My turning point...48% into the book...
JONATHAN...PLEASE!!! If this was purly about looks---I am sure Lucas would win, but man I love Jonathan and his sexy ways and how he takes control and is fun with it. I think I am addicted to the brand of Dom Jonathan floats with....
But THHAANNNN I was like no! I want Lucas--he puts my skin on fire...but I want Jonathan..is it okay to have them both?!
BUT WAIT---another turning point...
Shay CHOOSES and I have to say I am both disappointed and pleased! Who would have thought after all that she would end of with....
Torn: Caught Between the Billionaires took me for a ride on the wild side. It was full of steamy sex, dark feelings, and unwanted companions. We are brought into a world of tantalizing BDSM.
Shaye Green is a woman with a mission. That mission is to travel into the world of BDSM. What intrigued me most about her, was the fact that she wasn't scared to dive right into this different world. She finds herself in that lifestyle, and learns to love it. She also finds two mysterious and alluring men to swoon over. Which one will be her dom/match?
Lucas and Jonathan are both downright sexy and rich, oh and business partners too. They are both apart of the BDSM world, and enjoy sharing women. I myself really liked Lucas more than Jonathan. Lucas was more appealing to me and had more depth to him. Jonathan to me was a shady jerk, with an agenda. He just had a unappealing way about him, even though he is smooth and gorgeous. Both of these men are pulled towards Shaye, but who will win her heart and be her Dom?
This compilation series was very interesting. I liked and disliked it. Personally for me, book one and four were my favorites. We learn quite a bit about the ins and outs of BDSM and how things work in underground playgrounds. There were certain things that left me questioning why they took place, or why there wasn't anymore information regarding the events. So that is why I rated this series with 3.5-4 Stars. Author Julia Sykes has a way with her writing style. It is very in depth and helps us picture everything that is taking place during the story. If you aren't taken with Alpha males, then this isn't a series for you. Torn: Caught Between the Billionaire Series is a roller coaster of lust, fantasies and new found identities.
Why must all the Doms be searingly hot and all subs be gorgeous women with body issues?
I enjoyed this series, although there were a hell of a lot of WTF moments. Not at the sexy stuff either, that I get, I even enjoyed the wicked twist of the different styles of Dom too, but my issues were to do with the reactions of the characters. I didn't understand the emotional yo-yoing that was happening. Not to mention the career issues that faced Shay and her decision to screw not one, but both her new bosses?! WTF?!
Add to this, the almost out of the blue changes seen in Jonathan, it was like a completely new character, that was being moulded to the story instead of having been designed before the story. Now, if the changes were intended all along, then the writing has let down the story here, the lack of background information and the general pace of the story do not allow for full characters.
This short series is NOT for newbies to the BDSM or erotic reading scene. It is full of some amazingly hot scenes, and some scenes that may be trigger points for people who do not handle abuse or rape of women. While in general, the scenes didn't go too over the top, they might bother some readers.
In short, I had issues with all the characters, the general pacing, the storyline and the unbelievability of the whole tale, that aside, if you would like a quick, hot BDSM read, give this series a try, it might be perfect for you if all you're after is a bit of fantasy titillation.
**Note: I was provided with an electronic copy of this book in return for an honest review**
WOW, just wow! Okay, I was truly impressed with this book by Julia Sykes! I was sucked in from the very beginning. This book had everything I was looking for in a book BDSM, mystery, sexiness, suspense, two HOT alpha males, angst, love triangle, STEAMY sex scences, and one very willing submissive.
I was definitely torn between the two male dom's throughout the story, Lucas and Johnathan. At first I was loving Lucas. Then oh that damn Johnathan, he totally ripped my heart away from Lucas. Then Lucas stole it back! Okay Okay you understand right; the constant pull and tug on my emotions....Yep, that happened in Torn Caught between the Billionaires!
The mystery and suspense added to the story. I found myself constantly turning the pages to see what happened next. Oh just one more chapter is what I kept saying and that turned into a 2 am reading night. Julia Sykes did a phenomenal job portraying the story of two rich powerful men fighting for one gorgeous submissive; but why are they fighting??? Hmmm are they fighting well maybe, but not is all what it seems in this book! I cannot wait to read more by Julia Sykes in the future! ***I was gifted this book for an honest review from the author Julia Sykes***
This book is a compilation of 4 novellas about Shay, Lucas and Jonathan.
Shay goes to a BDSM club by herself and gets into a bit of trouble until Lucas comes to her rescue. There is an immediate attraction that Shay and Lucas have for one another. Shay allows Lucas to give her a glimpse of how a consensual BDSM scene looks like. Lucas invites Shay to spend the weekend with him and she agrees.
Shay returns to work and meets her new client. Who could it be?? Hmmm.
They go away and spend the weekend together and that is where they meet up with Jonathan. Jonathan is Lucas' partner. He is totally jealous and is out to destroy Lucas and Shay is how he plans on doing it.
Throughout the 4 part story there is a lot of steam and we see both Shay and Lucas struggle with their feelings for one another. Lucas needs to fight his past in order to figure out what he wants for his future.
Jonathan is a big crazy and does some very shit that is quite nuts.
I received this book as an ARC a long time ago and finally was able to get to it. I don't see that it's available anymore for purchase but if this baby is sitting on your reader it is worth the read. It has some nice steam for you.
Shay finally plucked up the courage to give in to her fantasies so took herself along to a fetish club. Her first experience wasn’t quite as exciting as she thought after the ‘dom’ she paired with failed to give her a safe word and was a little more sadistic than she was prepared to suffer. Saved by bystander, Lucas, she soon finds herself capturing the attention of not one but two doms, who both make it their mission to win her over for themselves and she is torn between the pair.
Torn is definitely an erotica, it is not a ‘romance’ with steamy bits like I was expecting! There is a back-story, filled with intrigue and suspense, but the extremely graphic sex scenes dominate the story. For me not enough time is given to building the characters so they felt flat and fairly two-dimensional. Personally I wasn’t able to connect with them on an emotional level and this ruined the story for me.
Taken as a purely erotic read, Julia Sykes has done a great job. The BDSM seemed authentic and if a rude and crude read is what you’re after this one will fit the bill.
I hardly read books that involve BDSM. Why? Because they annoy me, mostly the main female characters; the male characters just piss me off.
Though I admit that I was fairly enjoying this... until I got to the second half.
I will say that I liked the main male character here, Lucas. Shay, who is the female lead, pissed me off beyond believe in the second half of the book. Just her reactions to some of the situations that were presented freaked me out and made me want to shake her.
Maybe, I'm just a prude. Maybe, I'm just too strong-minded to relate. I respect people's sexual preferences, but I just could not do it. I can honestly say that this is one of the best BDSM books I've read. The problem was me.
Just when you think this is another book about BDSM... you are sorely mistaken.... this story had me hooked from the start... I figured this was just like most of the other books I had read about BDSM but it certainly surprised me... It wasn't all romantic, it had much more of wild & adventurous feel about the lifestyle than I ever expected.... I can't say more without giving away spoilers but just to add you have to read this book for yourself and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good it is....
This is the second series I read by her and I'm not impressed. It's a very loosely written rough draft in my opinion. Shay has no knowledge of what a submissive should know or ask. It's very clear. As a woman, she clings really easily, forgives way too easily. Neither Lucas nor Jonathan should be dominants. Lucas doesn't know how to respect a woman enough to be honest with her. Jonathan is a true sociopath. The whole thing was a disaster. Scenes are incomplete. There are so many holes. If you haven't read this, please don't waste your time.
I read the series (4 novellas) within a day. For short reads they were OK. It wasn't all sex, sex, sex like some erotic novellas I've read, it dives into betrayal, murder and suspense. There is a story there too. In my personal opinion the story could be extended, more background told and following up. To me there is potential for a more in depth series.
Overall, it's too short with not enough background or follow up.
This book was originally in installments then offered as a whole book. There is a lot going on in this book BDSM, Betrayal, Suspense, Murder...I'm sure I missed a few too! Shay finally follows her desires of being a submissive and then ends up being attracted to two very different Dom's but one however isn't what he seems. Lots of Hot Steamy Sex scenes (BDSM style & a few vanillaish) . This book keeps you interested all the way through! Great Ending. Read more on my blog iloveladyporn.com
I was given this compilation of the Torn:Caught Between the Billionaires series for free by the author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Yes, some of the sexual stuff that goes on seems a bit odd to me, but I'm not involved in the BDSM world. The book did a good job of explaining why people are, however. The plot was interesting and I have to admit, I wanted to see what would happen next. If you are into BDSM, or just curious, this is the book for you!
A very intense and passionate BDSM story. Ms Sykes certainly did not tip toe around the genre. The story rang true to the lifestyle and was complete with a love triangle, money & power, sex and a sociopath! Thank you for sharing Ms Sykes!!!
I would definitely suggest reading this as complete series from stop to start. It is a wild ride emotionally and physically. Lucas and Jonathon definitely turned out differently than I thought from the first serial. I will definitely be reading more of Julia Syke's books.
I always loved Julia's writing since The Impossible Series. This book does not disappoint. Lucas sweeps Shay off her feet with his looks and dominance and they embark on an adventure into the world of BDSM. Lucas' business partner Jonathan also shows interest in Shay but with a different motive. With his sadistic ways Jonathan quickly gains the upper hand but Lucas is not ready to give up what is rightfully his in business and in love. Julia is phenomenal in writing steamy novels with a twist and has quickly become one of my favorite authors.
