Wanted a holiday romance but DNF'd at 1/3 through the book. The voice was passive, all tell/no show with nothing but irrelevant detail. I was just incredibly bored. The writing itself felt a bit sophomoric and the book was just not worth my time.

Traci era una interior design e amava vivere a Beauville. All’inizio della relazione con Billy era convinta che, il suo storico fidanzato, fosse l’elemento mancante nella sua vita, ed era arrivata a sognare un futuro con lui. Ma negli ultimi tempi era molto cambiato, forse stava attraversando solo un brutto momento, oppure stava venendo fuori il suo vero carattere, possessivo e geloso.
In ogni caso Traci non aveva più voglia di continuare la loro storia, e così lo aveva lasciato.
Aveva messo in conto un’esplosione nucleare, data l’irascibilità dell’uomo, invece Billy l’aveva stupita. Non aveva accettato la separazione, chiedendo al suo posto una pausa temporanea, ma almeno non aveva reagito in malo modo.
Dan lavorava e viveva a Chicago, ma a causa di un incidente dovette fare ritorno nella cittadina nella quale era cresciuto. Non era felice di quella vacanza forzata, soprattutto perché a Beauville non c’era niente di entusiasmante per lui.
Tranne Traci, la sorella del miglior amico di Christian, suo fratello, che abbiamo conosciuto nel primo libro della serie.
Dan fu per Traci una piacevole scoperta.
Spesso si offriva di accompagnarla ad alcuni eventi, come il Wine Dinner di Isabella, e riusciva con facilità a distrarla dalle sue preoccupazioni su Billy. Si rivelò una persona gradevole con cui passare del tempo.
Dan si augurava che Traci si fosse lasciata definitivamente alle spalle la relazione con il suo ex, in modo da potersi frequentare regolarmente e godersi la compagnia reciproca, senza troppe pressioni.
🖋️Traci è una ragazza genuina, senza grilli per la testa e dal carattere pacato. Carina, dolce e disponibile, non è una persona sicura di sé, lo dimostra il fatto che ritiene di “non essere abbastanza” per uno come Dan, un uomo che vive in una grande città, abituato a frequentare belle donne e a condurre una vita agiata.
Effettivamente Dan a Chicago, dove vivevano tutti i suoi amici, aveva costruito la sua routine. Non aveva molte cose in comune con Traci ma trascorrere del tempo in sua compagnia si era rivelato più gradevole di quanto avesse previsto.
E dover fare ritorno nella sua città non sembrava poi così allettante.
🖋️Un romanzo dolce e romantico, nel quale non sono presenti particolari drammi o colpi di scena.
Alcune descrizioni le ho trovate poco interessanti e non utili allo svolgimento della trama. Finale un pó frettoloso.

Avete bisogno di una coccola e di un momento per voi, per dimenticare questo folle periodo che ancora non accenna a finire, sognando paesaggi lontani e uomini affascinanti? Magari sorseggiando un Martini ? Allora Pamela Kelley e il suo Montana fanno assolutamente per voi.
Mi ha ricordato infatti moltissimo per l’ambientazione e la trama uno di quei film romantici e natalizi con cui ci abboffiamo di solito alla fine dell’anno. Lo so io e lo sapete voi, sono tutti uguali e tutti poco rispondenti a realtà, ma ne abbiamo già parlato più volte, ci piacciono perché ci piace sognare, evadere e viaggiare, almeno con la fantasia se non si può con aereo e passaporto…
Il punto fondamentale è proprio questo: nella vita abbiamo già troppe responsabilità da prendere e regole da seguire, oltre all’esiguità dei divertimenti, quindi non possiamo che accogliere a braccia aperte il concetto del destino che ti casca addosso e sul quale tu hai davvero ben poco controllo. È una liberazione, una coccola, appunto. Per questo cadono nella “trappola” i nostri due protagonisti, e nella stessa trappola finiamo noi lettori. Insomma leggiamo, nasciamo, viviamo, ci innamoriamo, tutto per necessità!
Dan e Traci si somigliano parecchio, e forse per questo sono molto cauti, sembrano girarsi intorno, studiarsi, come due temibili avversari, più che come due che stanno per innamorarsi. Nessuno dei due cerca l’amore, l’anima gemella, la casetta con il giardino e la staccionata bianca.
Ma se il solito Cupido dispettoso ti casca addosso, che fare? Spostarsi o cercare di afferrarlo al volo? Forse un pizzico di speranza e uno di coraggio sono il condimento della felicità.

Boring. I stopped wasting my time on this story about a third of the way through. The writing was bad, and the plot just plodded along. The only thing interesting about this story was the tension between Traci and her ex-boyfriend Billy. Otherwise, Dan and Traci just spent time talking about the colors they were going to use in her interior designing scheme for his house.

I was reading this - without much enthusiasm to be honest - when I remembered the exact same events happening in another book. Turns out this is the same story as Six Months in Montana, but written from the pov of different characters.
The writing is stilted and 'separate', there is no sense of being in the story and in the end, irritated beyond belief with the total lack of any serious editing and the childish writing, I gave up. The time line seemed to make no sense and the author's fixation with food was weird.
Just a question. If you order steak, baked potatoes and salad in a restaurant in the States, does it not come all at the same time?
=== They ordered sirloin steaks with baked potato and salad. A few minutes after they placed their orders the waitress returned with their salads and they started eating....(conversation ensues here)....... The waitress brought their steaks out a few minutes later and they were cooked perfectly.' ====
WTF??? ( I am assuming the baked potatoes were later served as dessert ;) )

Still love the characters, but rather than just do a short recap of previous book, the author writes the same story from these main characters prospective. Waste the first half of the book with the exact same story. Bad choice. Overall same predictable romance and loving characters, but waste of my $3 overall .

She was ok, he not so much. The writing is my biggest issue. First several chapters were just fine, but then everything devolved into the passive voice. This happened, that happened, two lines of dialogue. Rinse repeat. All the people ever did when 'hanging out' (no real dates) was sitting in front of the TV watching movies.

Poorly written
Holy run on sentences, needlessly long descriptions about pointless things, and countless cliches ("it felt like they kissed for 5 minutes, and when they came up for air..."). I had trouble finishing this book. I kept hoping it would get better, but it did not.

Sweet little Christmas romance to read in December. Not too great on the editing...the main character's name was misspelled a few times...which was kind of ridiculous...among other things. Nothing was too big to detract from the story but it was definitely noticeable. If you're in the mood for a quick little holiday read - pick this up!

Mistletoe in Montana was a cute Christmas read. This is the first book by this author I have read, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything not having read Six Months in Montana first, though I now want to go back and read that as well.
Dan lives in Chicago and he loves it. He never wanted to settle in small town Beauville like his brother. He wants more than that. He loves the glitz and glamor of the big city. The restaurants, the bars, the things to do and people to see. There is just so much more to see and do than in the small town where he grew up. He goes out every night, never really has a serious relationship, is just happy to meet new people and do whatever he wants. He works from home and makes a good living as a financial blogger and he is happy. Until he gets into an accident and breaks his leg. His brother comes to get him and take him back home to recuperate. He is thankful for the help, but can't wait to get back on his own two feet and back to the city, and hopefully before Christmas as he does not like to celebrate the holiday. He doesn't have good memories surrounding it and he prefers to just hole up alone and get through it every year.
Traci is a local and loves Christmas. She is all about the holiday and she was really cute. She works a few different jobs, one of which is an interior designer for Dan's brothers wife. When the story opens she is engaged, but breaking things off as her fiance has changed for the worse recently. She is definitely not in any place to move on and get into a new relationship.
When Traci and Dan meet there is a mutual attraction, but with Dan only in town for a short amount of time nothing could come of it. When he ends up staying longer than he intended, and needs the decorating help of Traci, things get a bit tricky. They both start falling for the other, but how could they make anything work when he lives in the city and she lives in her small town? I loved watching these two figure everything out and get closer together. They were a cute, sweet couple and a great holiday read.

Dan è costretto a trasferirsi temporaneamente in Montana, a casa di suo fratello, dopo essersi rotto una gamba in seguito ad un piccolo incidente.
Erano anni che non metteva piede in quella piccola cittadina del Montana da cui si era allontanato tanti anni prima per andare a vivere a Chicago.
Sente la mancanza dei suoi amici e della città, ma per fortuna trova la compagnia della dolce Traci per passare il tempo in attesa che la sua gamba guarisca definitivamente.
Traci è esattamente l’opposto di Dan. A lei piace la piccola città. Le piace abitare nel Montana e le piace il suo lavoro da Design d’interni. Adora il Natale, cosa che invece Dan odia e non festeggia da tanti anni.
Traci viene assunta da Dan per arredare il cottage appartenuto alla sua famiglia e in disuso da anni e così i due si ritrovano a lavorare insieme, a passare del tempo insieme e a stringere una bella amicizia che ben presto si trasforma in qualcosa di più. Ma cosa succederà quando la gamba di Dan sarà finalmente guarita e sarà pronto per tornare in città?
Dopo aver letto la storia di Christian e Molly in “sei mesi in montana”, storia che ho apprezzato davvero molto, mi aspettavo, anche in questo secondo volume, una storia emozionante e coinvolgente ma, nonostante sia una storia molto dolce, a mio parere mancava qualcosa. Non sono riuscita ad apprezzare completamente il personaggio di Dan e forse è stato questo che non mi ha fatto coinvolgere totalmente nella storia.
Al contrario ho apprezzato molto il personaggio di Traci; dolce, gentile e ha davvero provato a dare una possibilità alla loro storia nonostante le enormi differenze tra loro.
“Un Natale in Montana” è una storia che si legge velocemente e ,se avete letto il primo volume della serie, vi consiglio di non perdervi anche questo perchè le vicende si svolgono parallelamente alla storia tra Christian e Dan.

Rock and Doris in Montana
As an aspiring writer myself, I know how challenging it is to turn out a finished piece of writing that is engagng, well-crafted, literate, and satisfying to the reader. Regrettably, this book is not that. Perhaps I am not as conversant with the conventions of, well, conventional romance writing as I'd hoped. But this book and others of its ilk read like a description of the longest foreplay with the least satisfying climax on record.
It hardly matters that it is set primarily on a ranch of some sort in Montana. Aside from an occasional reference to characters going to Bozeman for dinner, it might just as well have been set in Camden, New Jersey. The "romance" that slowly, oh so slowly, develops between the MC is so decorous that when they finally, finally decide to make love, it is like those scenes in Doris Day-Rock Hudson movies when the camera fades to black as the leads head to the bedroom.

She has the male MC break his leg , in THREE PLACES, and then go to his brother's ranch to recuperate over the ensuing two months. The author then seems to forget about the implications of that reality, and makes only fitfull referenced to his using crutches. At some point, without ever informing us of how or when, the cast and the crutches and any long-term effects of the horrendous leg break just...disappear.
Please, I cannot take seriously writing like this, despite rather attractive characters and an intriguing set-up. If a HEA ending is enough to satisfy you, by all means try this book. There are much worse written ones out there. Otherwise, save your money.

Come state? Oggi vi parlo del secondo volume della serie Dolce e Selvaggio Montana di Pamela Kelley, edito dalla Virgibooks. Questo romanzo è intitolato Un Natale in Montana - il periodo in cui si svolge è a ridosso di questa festività - e vede protagonisti due personaggi che avevamo già avuto modo di incontrare nella storia precedente, Traci e Dan.
“Perché mi chiedevi se avessi rivisto Traci?”
La signora O’Brien si sporse verso di lui, con un paio di occhietti scintillanti. “È single adesso. Ha scaricato da poco il tizio con cui era ufficialmente fidanzata.”

Ho cominciato questo romanzo in un pomeriggio e sono stata in grado di divorarlo in pochissime ore dal suo inizio. Il fatto che già conoscessi i personaggi di cui si andava a parlare ha aiutato molto perché, già nel precedente volume, avevano attirato la mia attenzione. Sono stata felice di addentrarmi in questa storia e ritornare nelle valli di questa cittadina del Montana, ma la parte migliore di tutte è stata vivere il Natale con le sue tradizioni attraverso i loro occhi.
Dan e Traci sono due personaggi che potremmo definire quasi agli antipodi. Ford è l'anima della festa, allacciato alla vita di rapporti superficiali che ormai si è costruito a Chicago; tornare in Montana, risveglia solo vecchi dolori che sono legati soprattutto alla Vigilia di Natale, notte tragica che ha portato via i suoi genitori. Traci, invece, ama tutto quello che concerne questa festività e lo dimostra impegnandosi svolgendo beneficenza per la sua cittadina e coinvolgendo tutti con il suo entusiasmo.
Il modo di narrare della Kelley è scorrevole, ma la sua terza persona, proprio come nella precedente opera, mi ha tenuto un po' a distanza dai protagonisti non permettendomi di entrarci in sintonia completamente. La storia d'amore nasce piano, in modo naturale, ma manca di pathos, perché la parte passionale è quasi del tutto assente e il finale è arrivato un po' troppo precipitosamente. Ho apprezzato, però, la crescita che Dan subisce durante i capitoli, grazie al modo di Traci di spronarlo a uscire dal limbo in cui era precipitato anni addietro, e la sicurezza che Traci ha acquisito in se stessa, una volta capito che Dan era quella svolta che stava aspettando e che le avrebbe permesso di trovare il suo posto nel mondo. Due personaggi che completano a vicenda le loro parti mancanti.
Se siete alla ricerca di romanzi che vi tengano compagnia con i loro dolci protagonisti e che vi permettano di trascorrere delle ore spensierate, con la mente a chilometri di distanza dalla vostra abitazione, queste storie leggere e prive di fronzoli potrebbero essere l'ideale per voi!

Come state? Oggi vi parlo del secondo volume della serie Dolce e Selvaggio Montana di Pamela Kelley, edito dalla Virgibooks. Questo romanzo è intitolato Un Natale in Montana - il periodo in cui si svolge è a ridosso di questa festività - e vede protagonisti due personaggi che avevamo già avuto modo di incontrare nella storia precedente, Traci e Dan.
“Perché mi chiedevi se avessi rivisto Traci?”
La signora O’Brien si sporse verso di lui, con un paio di occhietti scintillanti. “È single adesso. Ha scaricato da poco il tizio con cui era ufficialmente fidanzata.”

Beginning about in the middle of the time frame of book 1, this second novella sets the scene by relaying Traci's difficult breakup with a controlling Billy and Dan's life in Chicago prior to the accident that breaks his leg. Playboy,Investment blogger and freelance journalist Dan {Christian's brother} returns home to the Montana ranch, obtains a new appreciation for family and Beauville, finally heals after the tragic Christmas eve death of his parents 10 years ago, and finds love with the reticent, gunshy and newly single Decorator Traci {Christian's best friend Travis' sister}. An attraction at first sight/friends to more romance where the sweet but rocky relationship is peppered with scenes from the first novel, redecorating Dan's guest house, Christmas preparations and with encounters with Traci's ex Billy.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I do think Pamela Kelley is a very good writer. This book shows how important a good storyline is . Even though the reader was led to believe that Traci & Dan also had a good time in the bed the author did not have to go into any detail at all. Enough was given to let our imagination do the rest. And it just wasn't important to the scheme of things. It wasn't what brought Traci & Dan together and it isn't what kept them together. Dan seems to have done some maturing while in Chicago and when he ends up back home in Beauville, Montana he meets Traci who is down to earth. She is a woman that isn't impressed with money and things. She is a person who cares about people and the business she is trying to build. This makes her different than the women he had dated.
I look forward to the author's next book.

It was just ok. It struck me as a story that could be better if it was made into a TV movie! I hadn’t read the first book, but it was made quite clear what happened beforehand. To be honest, if it was anything like this book, then I wouldn’t have read book two, free download or otherwise.
A few things irritated me; the version I was reading had quite a few editing errors ie. missing letters from words. There seemed to be a lot of drink driving. Also, when a man is convalescing due to multiple breaks to his leg, I fail to see how he ‘ran to the kitchen’.
The text was very simplistic, perhaps too basic. It made for a very easy read, but was lacking in the skill needed to create a connection to the characters or their setting. It was predictable, this type of book tends to be, which is absolutely fine with me, however, it could have been so much better.

Great read
This book shows two lifestyles: small town boy makes it big in Chicago stock market, and girl makes a happy life in small town Montana. Problem occurs when he breaks a leg and goes to stay with his brother to recuperate and decides to redecorate his home. Guess who his decorator is....the differences don't stop there. She loves all things small town, from Christmas pageants to open house parties with old friends. He loves the hustle bustle of city life. Always a party to go to and too many one night stands. Can they find happiness together? You betcha! Great read...

Like a Hallmark Christmas movie but with a rushed ending. Too many descriptions of the food, clothes, and especially the wine pairings. It was like the author had just learned wine pairings and was showing off her new skill. Annoying. Too many things just didn't make sense. Dan was only going to be there for a couple months but he totally redecorated the guest cottage? "For resale." The house was attached to the main house by a short walkway on a private ranch. How would they sell it? Dan hated the holiday season but he agreed at the last minute to play Santa just 20 minutes after Traci asks? Nope.

Dan is a finance guy in Chicago. He spends his days on the internet buying and selling stocks. He also has a blog and writes articles about finance. He spends his nights out partying with friends. His life is great and he loves it. When he brakes his leg in three places in an accident he ends up recouping in Montana in his home town. It is boring and he hates it. Until he meets Traci. He hires her to fix up his house that he inherited next door to his brother.
It is a smooth flowing story and easy to read.

I don't know what to think of this book. I simply adored the first one and had high expectations for the second one, but it was a bit monotone and there was more narrative than action. Though I loved their story, I was hopping for more exciting things that only came when I was nearing the end. Aaaaalso what was that cross-ove with Winter in Ireland? I've read that book and it had NOTHING to do with what was described in this book so I got really confused there. All in all, it was a simple and beautiful read, but it could have been way better.

I've read the series before, but am just now reviewing. I really love the characters, but I feel like very little happens over long periods of time. Each book's time span is several months, but there's no real conflict or drama. Sometimes the stories are wordy and drawn out. Maybe it's because I'm into more suspenseful and darker books. I do recommend giving the series a try, it may be more to your liking than mine.

Holiday romance. This is the only book I have read in the series, so I was conscious of not knowing the backstory of many of the characters. For example, I had no idea whether Molly and Christian had a real marriage, as it was hinted they did not. I didn't particularly care for a lot of the characters and they were superficial. While this was technically a "sweet" and "clean" romance, it was not completely clean as to actions, but without graphic details.

I really enjoyed this book since it was a Christmas romance and I am a bit of a sucker for them.
Traci is a store clerk/interior decorator who has just gotten out of a long-term relationship gone sour. Dan is a stock trader/blogger from Chicago who has returned home after an injury. They meet and there are sparks but Traci is hesitant since Dan is only there until he is recovered.
Their friendship soon turns into more but will they fight it or part ways?
