A type of encyclopedia, good for reference for cosmology terms , timelines of discoveries and biographies of famous mathematicians, physicists, etc. Not something to read in one or two sit-downs unless your really into the topic.
I read this in Mombasa just after it was published and found it an invaluable resource, that was referred to often by myself and friends. It was in fact the first time i was introduced to the idea of dark matter and the four fundamental forces of the universe. I'm not so sure how authoritative it remains nearly 10 years later so my rating does reflect my first reading.
The big brother of the Author's 'Stardust', explains the workings of the Universe in great detail but is still an enjoyable read. My favorite part's about the inner working of the Sun.
