The Jake Thomas Trilogy

Rate this book
The Jake Thomas Trilogy is the tale of the adventures of Jake Thomas, a young man from Earth who finds himself transported to a world where magic and danger exist. This bundle includes all of the novels: A World Apart, Sword of Light, and The Eternal Darkness.

Jake Thomas thought he was having a bad day. An after-school encounter with a long-time rival had left him angry and dismayed, but little did he know that before the day was done, his life would be changed forever.

Suddenly and mysteriously transported to a strange new world, he finds himself alone and without a clue how or why he was brought there. Rescued and befriended by an enigmatic warrior and the magic-wielding clerics that protect the people of this world, Jake must uncover the purpose behind his transition and find his way home.

As he struggles to discover his answers, he faces a growing danger from the demons that exist on this world. They are aware of his presence and, for reasons unknown, move to capture him and bring him under their control.

In a race against the dark forces of the demons, he must confront his fears and journey on a quest to retrieve a source of great power, the only thing that can send him home.

A good read!

This trilogy delivers a great story, and the writer does a good job of making the main characters relatable, drawing the reader in with their struggles and giving an attachment to the main characters and their plights.

I've owned this trilogy for months. Guess I buried it and only got a few chapters in. I started over and ended up reading it all weekend! The world building was good, I really cared about the characters, the plot is good and fast-paced with lots of action. It's clean YA reading but does get just a bit gory in places with lots of fight scenes. I'm a wuss when it comes to that kind of thing, but I could handle it. Lots of tension in places too. The book was very well edited, I couldn't find a single mistake! This is on Kindle Unlimited, that's a bonus. Well worth the time spent reading.

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.

The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

i would highly recommend this author and this book.

Great story. Requires patience.

I loved the story, although the development left a little too be desired. I felt like Jake should be more disoriented by being pulled into another world, but once you get passed that, the concept is enjoyable. Definitely worth reading.

Can't put this book down!

Really good story line that would appeal to all ages and genders. There's clean romance, fantasy and heroism, stuff that I love to read about. Love the healing ability of the cleric as that would be my main concern about living in "the olden days". I want more!
