Okay so I might get hammered for my rating but this book did not do anything for me.
description

The main character Blake Burns (I like the name) but he was an arrogant, baby, "knows-hes-a-pimp-who-suddenly-wants-to-have-babies, asshole.
I mean his dick is always hard when this chick is around...this is coming from a guy who regularly has sex on a daily bases and suddenly is fighting for this one chick that he doesn't even know. He jerks off one time in the book and that's the only action I've read. I felt like this character needed more development...Him knowing that he's sexy, and his acting/modeling days helped him with his little "toothache"...Like bro it's not that serious.
description

And Jennifer...I really wanted to like her character but I found it difficult. She is with someone who she clearly does not love. Ok, sure her BF is a dick but I mean come on, fingering yourself to another guy...
Do you hear the sirens going off?
description

I really wanted to enjoy this book because the ladies in my bookclub was ranting about it but it totally did not fit me. I finished it because it was short and I doubt I will be getting to the next one. The way it ended...... description
In my opinion I believe the author could've continued a bit more. But the way it happened...... NO totally UNBELIEVABLE.
There was no connection between the two characters and honestly this book is filled with Fillers(my opinion).

I will say that writing was pretty good...The transition between POV's were spot on and I congrat the author for writing a book. But this book was not for me

RANT DONE

I adore That Man. I can't say enough. Nelle's greatest offering to date. Spectacularly written. Funny, sexy, perfection. Nelle excels at a cocky guy POV. This is equal parts Tangled and Beautiful Bastard, and all funny! Blake is so hot and the literary references were an unexpected surprise!
And as always, Nelle has a fantastic handle on the setting of her story--I've never been to LA but I felt like it was an old stomping ground! Bravo Nelle! You must pick up That Man and get to know Blake Burns!

That Man 1

Book Description

There's a new beautiful player in town...

Blake Burns, the sexy head of SIN-TV, who goes through women like some go through water. Until he meets Jennifer McCoy, his outspoken new assistant and development executive.

Newly engaged Jennifer has no idea that her devastatingly gorgeous new boss is the man she kissed, blindfolded, in a game of Truth or Dare. That kiss, thatman, that beautiful stranger she cannot forget.

Blake hasn't been able to stop thinking about that kiss either...and he'll do anything to win Jennifer --even if it means being a beautiful bastard and breaking all the rules.

Jennifer is celebrating her newly engaged life by having an engagement party that her fiancé couldn't even turn up to. As her and her friends begin to have fun they end up playing truth or dare that leads to Jennifer blindfolded and kissing a random stranger, a stranger and his kiss that'll she'll never be able to forget.

Blake doesn't have feelings for women, he sleeps with any super model looking blonde with the letter K that is until one night in a club leaves him feeling more for the very first time.

When Jennifer enters the room for her job interview Blake is taken back by the woman from the night before only she doesn't know who he is and he doesn't plan on telling her anytime soon.

As the pair begin to spend a little time together the attraction gets stronger, will Blake be able to get his woman or is Jennifer too in love and loyal to her fiancé?

That Man was quite an amazing read. The storyline was gripping and I couldn't place my kindle down for even a second, I NEEDED to know what was about to happen next and I just wanna say I quickly went and one-clicked the rest of this series as soon as this one ended, I'm so intrigued with the ending and what's gonna happen to that sorry ass of a man!

This is my first read by Nelle L'Amour and I absolutely loved it. Blake and Jennifer are both amazing characters and I can't wait to read more of their story.

Hot, sexy, steamy and funny!...say What?!!!

A very unusual combination but it's true! There really is nothing more I can add to what other reviewers says...except, t's a rarity you come across a sexual and sensual story that'll turn you on and make you laugh like crazy at the same time. Read this ladies and you're in for a heady and giddy treat. I love this series I can't wait to read the next one which I already bought and already wishing the 3rd one is here already!

Mmmmnnn...parts of this story I enjoyed; the humour, Blake the player, Bradley the dickwad.

But other parts didn't flow so well..I like my erotica, be it sensuous, forbidden or humorous, but elements of this "cock driven programming" left a bad taste.. :-/

This has potential. The writing is great, but the story was too short. Plus, Blake seems to really think highly of himself and his 'fuck machine' as he puts it.

But please, someone who's read this please answer this question I have that's really messing with me Maybe I'm just asking for something that I really shouldn't care about, but I do.

I think I'll continue this series, I'm just growing weary of these serials that cut off right at the crucial moments.

This was a short but very sweet and totally hot read . I was head over heels for blake he was a hottie and he knew it ! I love how they both have the hots for each other but in a high school crush type of way it was very cute and then the subtle flirting that they had going on was oh so cute but sooo frustrating as well . I really cant stand Bradley eww he was yucky i kept hoping she would ditch that douche and just got with mr.hottie blake !! Cant wait to get started on the next one so i could keep reading about hottie mr BLAKE!!!

My blake !

In That Man, Nelle shows us her fabulous sense of humor as an author and her crazy, wonderful imagination. I loved the first scene when Jennifer kisses Blake blindfolded..it's just the sort of thing I may have done once and I admired Jennifer's ballsy attitude, mixed with her straight-laced inner-voice. This makes for internal character conflict, which in turn makes you laugh.

Nelle has a wonderful way with words and she is great with describing situations and pinpointing people's emotions. She has an eye for detail. This book has heart and humor and I have a very strong feeling that Nelle's THAT MAN trilogy is going to make her soar.

If you're looking for a romantic, funny, and sexy read, pick up this series!

There were things I liked and things I didn't.
Didn't like she was engaged to someone else.
I did like her and I liked 'That Man'.
Very slow burn for a shortish book. About 170 pages.
I hated that it was a cliffhanger.
I also didn't like how slow it moved.

I am loving the chemistry in this book. Jennifer you can tell is iffy on her decision to be engaged to Bradley and it becomes quite apparent when the steamy kiss in truth or dare comes about. I was really thinking we were going to find out more about her fiance but maybe that is to come in an upcoming book. Blake sounds absolutely yummy. I can see why the woman would be flocking him. He seems like he would just exhume confidence in a sexy way, oh and handsome to boot. I like how Nelle portrays the female mc in a highly educated career in a male dominated field. One think I did not like about the book was the ending to this one. How can you leave us on such a monumental event!

I adore Nelle L’Amour’s writing. She’s such a skillful writer; she creates flawed heroes who on the surface are nothing but cocky man whores, but then as the story continues, Nelle slowly goes underneath those imperfections and presents a man who will stop at nothing to claim the woman he wants and may perhaps even love. Blake Burns, the hero in That Man, is such a character. He’s a man who doesn’t ask for the things that he wants; he just takes them without concern for the after effects. His life, up until this point, has focused on running SIN-TV and living his own version of sin with a plethora of sexual conquests. He’s never looked to the future or thought of himself as a one woman man, but all of that changes when a blindfolded beauty kisses him.

Jennifer McCoy has never been kissed like she is by “that man.” The kiss consumes her long after it’s finished, and she doesn’t even know who she kissed, and even though, she’s “happily” engaged, she replays that one kiss in her mind more times than she probably should. Unbeknownst to Jennifer, as she begins her new job, she comes face to face with “that man,” and even though she doesn’t recognize him, Blake Burns knows exactly who’s standing in front of him – the woman who has starred in his sexual releases since their kiss. Both Blake and Jennifer fight their mutual attraction because she’s not a free woman, but if “Operation Dickwick” is successful, he’ll soon have her in his bed as much as she's already in his head.

This is the second series I've read by Nelle L’Amour. The main characters in Gloria’s Secret, Gloria and Jaime, are two of my absolute favorite because they are both such complicated characters…I have to say Jennifer and Blake are just as fantastic. Nelle’s heroines are feisty and strong willed; they are driven to succeed and don’t let their emotions get the best of them, and Jennifer fits this description. I love Jennifer; she works in a business that is dominated by men, and while it may not be her first choice, she makes sure her voice is heard, and she thinks of some kickass ideas to help revitalize the network’s morning lineup.

That Man has everything readers could want; it’s a funny and sexy read that will have them rooting for Blake, despite his cocky attitude and Jennifer’s dentist fiancé. The story is told in both Blake and Jennifer’s point of views, so every thought and emotion felt is transparently offered to Nelle’s audience. Nelle is phenomenal at writing in the male point of view – Blake comes off as an arrogant S.O.B., which is exactly what he is, but by giving readers a firsthand look at his thoughts and feelings, we recognize that there's definitely more to Blake than his sexual prowess and domineering nature. Another aspect of Nelle’s writing that is always spot on is her use of description. Through her descriptive word choice, Nelle provides details of the places her characters are, which allows her readers to feel like they are actually right there with them.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Blake and Jennifer in books two and three. I’m hoping that “that man” will become Jennifer’s man because her fiancé is more than lacking and Blake can give her everything she craves and deserves.

O.K does Bradley remind anyone of the dentist Barry from friends that Rachel left at the alter???? He is such a tool, the author really makes you hate him, can't actually understand why Jennifer stays with him (get it Jennifer Aniston = Rachel Greene = Barry Farber the horrid dentist.)

The story line was quick paced and i have to say i love love love Blake's gran, i think we can all relate to having the drunken relative that just has to been seen and heard. And love at the dinner scene how Blake's humanity came out a bit around his family and got to see the intensity of his crush.

To me the book could have been a little more smutty, i like a pair to have paired by the end of the book or at least tried too, also i don't get the intense pain from banging finger in a door if she has that reaction she's going to need to be highly sedated through childbirth. She then falls again to have a mind blowing leg massage... Hmmmmm.

But i did love the book and give it a thumbs up.

Nelle L'Amour's That Man is fantastic. Truth or Dare Jen, “Have you had multiple orgasms with Bradley?” A single word. “Dare.” I wasn’t telling. Truth: I’d never had an orgasm with Bradley. Not a single one. “Okay, so what’s my dare?” “You have to kiss the man over there.” So would you do this?? Well Jen did and not only that, she was blindfolded and didn't even see what the man looked like. And the kiss was smokin' hot!! That man turned out to be her new boss, of course he recognized her and was infatuated with her. Actually fell for her but he was a player, so he was not sure what to do. And oh my gosh, she was invited to his parents house for supper and there was a bathroom scene that was so comically hottt!!! When he decides to pursue her, he decides to get rid of her fiancée calling it Operation Dickwick, lol. (note: fiancée not treating her right) And this story ends with an explosive cliffhanger and you will need to get That Man 2 and That Man 3 to find out how it all ends. I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading Ms. L'Amour's work and I'm so glad I got a chance to read this. It's not an easy thing to write dual POV and be able to accurately capture the voice of the opposite sex and make it sound realistic, but Ms. L'Amour definitely has that style hands down when it comes to Blake's telling of the story. I've had several laugh out loud moments throughout this book, but nothing was more funny than the Shabbat dinner debacle.

There is more to Blake than what you expect, and Jennifer is one lucky woman. I love the operation name Blake has come up with in order to get rid of the competition, and the first attack volley he launched! The serious drama doesn't occur until the last 4 pages of the book and that ends on a cliffhanger, so be sure you have the next part ready to go so you can know what happens.

I would definitely recommend this book!

Acord 3.5 stele .

Wow!

I was hesitant to read it first because of the ratings but I find the plot interesting so I gave it a try!

The first chapter was 'WOW', I loved it. There were a few parts that I skipped, usually conversations pertaining to their business.

This was written in dual 1st person POV! I like the characters and WRiting style.

Likes... the concept, some really good parts, the crazy cliffhanger

Dislikes...the story was too slow and drawn out.

If asked if I would recommend this book, I'd have to say No. But with that cliffhanger, I will be reading the next book because I don't like leaving questions unanswered!! Ugh!
