Morganville Vampires short story. This story is set between 'Fade Out (Morganville Vampires #7)' and 'Kiss of Death (Morganville Vampires #8)'.
This short story is exclusively available in 'Ghost Town (Morganville Vampires #9)' UK Edition.
Another free website story, but a late addition … one I’d been kicking around for years before I finally finished it. I wrote it a couple of ways, but this was the best version, I believe … It dates back to the period shortly after Michael turns vampire, and Shane’s still deeply uncomfortable about it. He’s also still picking fights to work off his rage, which never really helps him. Warning: there’s drinking. And confessions. And secret missions with night vision. Bonus Bishop, and scary battles. Michael and Shane, being heroes together. Which seems about right. Fun factoid: for most of my late college flat living, spaghetti was the only thing I was good at making. That, and mac-’n’-cheese with tuna. But we shall not speak of this again.
I’m not the biggest fan of the Shane and Michael bromance, so for me the whole brotherly love aspect of this story fell upon deaf ears.
Nonetheless, it is an interesting snippet detailing events between Fade Out and Kiss of Death. It gives us details which are useful in later books, without spoiling anything for us.
Honestly, it is one of the more useful short stories we are given.
This was pretty ehhhh. It was nice to see the Michael and Shane bromance, especially as they're very stereotypical in the main Morganville series, and it was kinda nice to see what happens between the books, but it was pretty boring. And it was narrated by Shane, who I detest with a passion.
Shane and Michael rekindle their bromance with fighting vamps and saving the day.
A good short story that focuses on Shane and Michael's friendship - the difficulties since Michael has become a vamp, but also their long friendship and desire to both be heroes.

Title: Worth Living For Series: The Morganville Vampires #7.5 Author: Rachel Caine
I mean, it was an alright short story. Not the best 42 pages I've ever read in my life, it was nice to see what we miss in between books though. It would be nice if books left off where the other started, however that rarely happens with this series.
The best part about this was the insight into Michael and Shane's little bromance, it was nice to see it when one of them wasn't about to die or something dramatic like that.
I like the snippet of another inside moment, the connection between Shane and Michael, it surrounded their friendship.
I don’t think this short story was necessary but it’s nice as a little add on and what happened behind the scenes of between some of the other books.
I did very much enjoy Shane’s moment, his point of view towards Claire. It was a private moment, where Shane showed his vulnerability to the reader. We don’t get many moments like that from Shane as he prefers not to show emotion in a sense it makes him appear weak. (Even though we know that’s not true) however Shane likes to keep up appearances, so it was nice to have that little slice which was very heartfelt.
I loved the perspective being from Shane's point of view for this story. Claire has had thoughts and feelings of doubt when it comes to herself while comparing to some of Shane's old flames. I absolutely adore the way Shane was describing the way he sees Claire and how much he truly loves her. And I found it so funny that he's a little insecure about Myrnin and Claire's relationship. Clearly, nothing will happen between those two even though lots of people would love to see something happen...myself included (a little tiny bit). It was nice seeing the point of view from both sides of the relationship.
A short story from Shane's POV. He was spying on Michael and ended up working together to defeat their nemesis, Bishop. Sweet Michael was protecting Shane by telling Amelia that he's the one who staked Bishop, but clearly, Amelia knew the truth too!❤
Decided to read all of the Morganville short stories, since when I was reading the series I never got chance to. This one was pretty good. It gave a nice insight into Shane and Claire's relationship.
Didn’t think I would really enjoy this little snippet, but I totally surprised myself! Wasn’t the greatest by any means, but one of my favorites from all of her novellas.
