Like most college graduates, Natalie Harlow is swimming in debt. Her post-graduate job can barely afford her the chance to move out of her parents' apartment, or make any headway on her $700 a month student loan.
So when her glamorous, dresses-like-she-isn't-hurting-for-money co-worker Quinn offers her the opportunity to make a lot of money for just one night of work - a "job" that is as secretive as it is lucrative - Natalie is hesitant, but curious.
Twelve glamorous “Candidates” line up for twelve gentlemen bidders in a luxurious, private residence high in the hills above the city. The item up for auction? One night with a Candidate.
He pays, she stays. What they do is up to him.
Is the lure of cash enough for Natalie to lay herself aside for one night as Candidate Four?
Crystal Cierlak is an American author born and raised in California. In her two year publication history Crystal has released 10 titles among three original series, including "Zoe Thanatos", a sci-fi romance set in an alternate universe called Terra; "The Romance of Nick and Layla", a 5-part (part 6 coming soon) series about the dysfunctional marriage of a pop star and the woman he married in secret; and "Bidden", a (now) three-part series of novellas about a young woman who puts herself up for auction to the highest bidder for a night of steamy romance, all so she can pay her crippling student loans.
Crystal has several more stories planned for release, including the follow-up to "Zoe Thanatos"; "Heartlines," the 6th book in "The Romance of Nick and Layla"; and a continuation of "Bidden".
Candidate Four is a hot kinky little number that delivered on that one night of pure carnal pleasure. It was a shortie of a read that didn't hold anything back, giving us a glimpse of the person they are without it being all about the sex. There is something to be said about secrets and mystery, where you can be anyone you want with no care or thought about your actions or what becomes of tomorrow. Perfect in between read when you need that something hot, steamy with a hint of kink. I'm happy to find out that there is a follow up to this quickie, one that I hope promises of more.
This is an amazing read! I read it in just a couple of hours cause I couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next book to come out!! This book is HOT!!
I had been wanting to read this book since I heard of the author. She made the book free for this weekend and I grabbed up my copy. This book is considered erotica, but I really think that it is just hot. The sex is described beautifully. Natalie is an overworked recent college graduate. She is trying to figure out how to pay everything and her student loans that are hanging over her head. She is still living at home because the $700 a month in student loans to pay back take much of here hard earned money. She is feeling lost because she doesn't know what she is going to do. Natalie has a friend Quinn that always seems to have money and is able to do what she wants. One day she decides to ask how she gets her beautiful clothes and how she can afford to do the things that she does. Quinn decides to tell her, but she is hoping that Natalie will not judge her... Quinn is part of an elite groups of girls that take care of men's needs. They are taken to a private location and bidden upon for services. It could be anything from just spending the night in talk with them to sex. Natalie agrees to try this for one night as she is desperate to get out debt. From that night she is known as Candidate Four. She knows that she is different from the other girls because she has deeper curves then the rest of them. Gentleman number 12 seems to be caught up on her. From then the bidding starts. Natalie is sure no one is going to bid for her, but gets a surprise. The top bidder is number 12. For the one night she belongs to him. At first he tries to talk her out of what is going to happen, but in the end Natalie decides to stay. From that moment on the story just gets hot. I love a good erotic story. Candidate Four is a different story as it brings up escorts and the men that participate in it. Each of the women are described nicely. Natalie ends up having one of the best times of her life. Book two is currently out and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
**4.5 stars** I really enjoyed this book! Candidate Four is about Natalie who is struggling to find out a way to handle her student loan debt, while working a low paying job and living with her parents. Her friend gives her the idea of becoming a candidate and Natalie gives it a try not knowing (fully) what to expect.
This book is steamy! I kind of feel like it's an erotic romance novel version of The Selection by Kiera Cass (minus the class break down). It was interesting and I honestly wanted to keep reading once I got started. That's how I measure a book, if I can put it down or read it slowly it may not be that good and I'm probably forcing myself to finish it. I can honestly say that wasn't the case here.
One thing I felt like I didn't really see in the first installment was the whole 'Ruin you' part. I don't feel like I saw it, but reading the sneak peek of the next installment, I see it was explained.
Two thumbs up for this book. I cringed when I saw the price I one-click bought it for on Amazon (yes I'm cheap with novellas) but after reading it, I feel like I got my money's worth. It was like a full story, no cliff hanger, but with that sneak peek, it's enough to make you want to see what's up next.
This was a good master slave quick read. Natalie Harlow is swimming in debt. Natalie has just graduated college and she has a job that she can barely pay her bills. Her co-worker Quinn offers her the opportunity to make a lot of money for just one night of work a "job" that is as secretive as it is lucrative Natalie is hesitant, but curious to find out what it is. Quinn is part of an elite group of girls that take care of men's needs. They are taken to a private location and bidden upon for services. It could be anything from just spending the night in talk with them to sex. Natalie agrees to try this for one night as she is desperate to get out debt. This book is well written as this is my first time reading this author and this is the first book in this series. Each of the women are described nicely. Natalie ends up having one of the best times of her life. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Natalie has the same problem most of us have, a lot of debt and adequate enough paying job to pay it off. Natalie also has a friend in Quinn who gives her an opportunity to make some extra money towards paying off her loans. Natalie goes into this opportunity knowing what is expected but leaves with a sense of curiosity more than anything else. Gentleman twelve is sexy as hell and not in any way what Natalie was expecting. They have a wonderful night together and then it comes to an end. James makes a final request of Natalie before she leaves. Will Natalie take his request seriously? Will she go back just on the chance of seeing James again? What changes has Natalie instilled in James if any from their one night together? Is he as affected and she was by their time together? This is a highly erotic yet intriguing story I definitely want more Natalie and James!
I really enjoyed it! Quick, hot and enthralling. It bothered me that there's no mention of protection between the two main characters... I'm not really a fan of strangers performing unprotected sex, expecially in the context these two characters meet. That said...I want to know more! I'll get my hands on "Sinful Reunion" as soon as possible and I'll definitely read more of Crystal Cierlak's work.
Girl goes to college and then can't get a job. Girl has enormous student loan debt. Roommate always has money and nice things. In comes a secret job and she is now a "Candidate" in an auction
This is a must read, it keeps you wondering through the whole thing. Loved it and will be buying the rest of the series.
This book had just enough of the components that it takes to make a great book, for me personally. Well written with believable characters, Crystal Cierlak has done a great job with the first of this series. Natalie is up to her eyeballs in debt and an office colleague has a way to fix that but will Natalie want to? She does and it opens her eyes up.......as well as her financial future.
