Please do not buy my old books or cards, as I have repented and denounced them after Jesus saved me and opened my eyes to new age deception.

Here is my testimony of why I left the new age to follow Jesus: https://youtu.be/zZSH8mvIbdk

What Doreen Virtue calls "angels" other people call intuition. Lots of examples on how to improve your intution whether you believe in angels or not.

Loved it! Loved learning of the different angels by name and now everytime I hear a ring in my ear, I think, "Okay higher self, listen up. I may not know consciously what is being said to me, but you do." A must read for anyone who believes in angels and their help along our journey of life.

Odlično, praktično i korisno, samo ako vjerujete u ono što vidite, čujete ili osjećate. U protivnom, nemojte ni posezati za ovom knjigom.
Thank you, Doreen!

Virtue has some weird ideas. Sometimes there are interesting ones, or different perspectives on things you've heard about since forever if you've grown up in America, but there are always a few 'wtf' moments in each of her books where she espouses something completely off the wall. The first book I read of hers, Healing with the Angels, had the tidbit that we'll eventually evolve so far spiritually that we will transcend the need for food altogether (of course, first we'll become vegetarians, then vegans, then breathatarians, where all one needs, one supposes, is the dew of a single ginko leaf and universe juice).

This book takes the weird ideas and brings them front and center, instead of tucked in odd chapters here and there. It starts early and hits often - at the top of page 4, she says:
God, being all-loving, has no awareness of anything but love. The Creator can tell when your consciousness is shut away from Him and that you're having a bad dream, but He can't tell what its content is. That would require God to be less than one hundred percent love.

She continues on the same page with:
A Course in Miracles says that God doesn't help us out during times of trouble because He sees no need (seeing only love and perfection, not the illusion of lack or problems). However, God does send helpers when we think we're in trouble. It's not that we're ignored; it's just that the Divine way of assisting us is to know that everything is already resolved in truth.

Good to know that when we're just too caught up in our 'illusion of reality' to the point where we're hurting, scared, or sad, god can't even tell what's going on. But he'll send some of his lackeys to go and comfort us in our delusions, so all's good!!

I don't understand how all of that above doesn't contradict basically everything in Virtue's Christian faith. There are plenty of moments where she indulges some ideas smacking of the Abraham-Hicks horror system, where the Law of Attraction will only bring things you dwell on - more on that in a second - but this really takes the cake. Hey, now we have our answer: why does god let bad things happen to good people? - he doesn't even realize it's happening! Guess god isn't omnipotent, omniscient anymore?

It also brings into question why she believes in Jesus Christ at all - if God doesn't see anything but love, why would he have ever seen the need to incarnate on earth to overcome sin? If he sees everything already resolved in truth, then the need for a savior would never have become obvious to him - he'd've just kept sending angels to keep this little ball rolling.

Back to the Law of Attraction - LoA for short. Having recently read the Abraham-Hicks LoA book, so much of the oddities that Virtue suddenly comes up with make a little more sense. The Hicks version of the LoA is WAY out there, and completely unhealthy. The authors write that awful things only happen because people thought about them once - rape, abuse, war, cancer, etc. - and those thoughts drew the experience to them. Before anyone says that it requires belief to actively draw things to you, I'd point you to their built-in excuse of 'default attracting' where, if you aren't actively focused on good stuff, just watching the TV scatters and diffuses your attracting juice to the point where anything could be coming your way over time. It even blames parents for the deaths of their children due to freak illnesses, because obviously they thought about the possibility once and it influenced the baby.

The Hicks have come out with the idea that you can actually believe hard enough and overcome gravity - that you won't be subject to gravity any longer, but other people won't realize it because they still believe in gravity. So when Virtue says you'll believe hard enough and won't need food anymore - Hicks LoA in action right there. And when Virtue says:
Imagine what your life would be like if you could be in many different places at the same time! Well, the angels say that the only reason we don't experience bilocality is because we believe that we can only be in one location at a time. Soon, we'll learn how to lift that restriction, according to them.

That Hicks LoA in action. One question, then - why aren't little kids and babies visiting Grandma, tearing up a toy store, and gorging themselves on cake and sweets at someone's birthday party at the same time? Kids don't 'believe' that they're limited to one location at a time, or that gravity holds them down, or that they need to eat more than mac-n-cheese or chocolate chips. Why aren't they manifesting the hell out of this stuff?

Seriously, who can believe this kind of nonsense??

My final jab here is again on the Hicks style LoA doctrine on feelings. See, to them, our feelings aren't our feelings - they're actually messages sent from our Inner Being (what Virtue calls the Higher Self). Whenever you feel anything short of rapturous happiness, that's your higher self letting you know you aren't doing something right. You aren't fulfilling your life purpose, or you're 'miscreating' and drawing the wrong things to you by thinking about the 'bad stuff'.

And near the end of the book (around page 70), Virtue leaps onto this style of thinking, telling us that the way to determine if something is right for you is by thinking about it. She gives an example of moving to a new house - first you think about yourself in your current location and see if you feel good about it. If you tense up or relax. Then think about the new place, and see if you feel happy or scared, tense or chill about it. And that's all the info you need about deciding on a move. Never mind plenty of people feel tense and unsure about a move, and don't particularly want to do it and it works out. Or others are rapturous and it's a total flop - or they're only happy because they're running away from their responsibilities.

All in all, this is complete trash. Skip it and be glad you didn't draw this into your life!

I have previously reviewed another of Doreen Virtue's books - "Archangels and ascended masters" and have given it five stars. This book. however, I found less interesting, unfortunately, a bit wishy-washy and filled with various pieces of assorted information. However, I see the other reviewers have found the book very good.

The book does comprise some useful information, including a description of a procedure to open your third eye, though I haven't tried this out yet. Virtue also gives us the helpful advice to surround ourselves with pink light in order to avoid being invaded by the toxic energy of others. She also provides us with instructions as to how to cut etheric cords, i.e. fear-based attachments to oneself made by others.

Altogether, the book does include various good features. I, personally, just didn't find it to be particularly readable. Many may well appreciate it, as I see from the other reviewers is in fact the case, it's an individual matter, though I didn't find it to be a book I absolutely would recommend.

I have to admit I thought these kind of books probably weren't for me, but I was wrong. This is the 2nd Doreen Virtue book I have read and thoroughly enjoyed. All the steps in the book are clear and easy to understand. I really would recommend these books to anyone who has an interest in Angels or who is just starting out on their spiritual journey.
I will definitely be reading more of her books.

Hokey, yet bizarrely interesting. When I could get through some of the less believable parts of Doreen Virtue's philosophy, what I found inside was a nugget of truth, faith and spirituality that really made sense. The practicality of hearing angels still is difficult for me to swallow, but the essence of the idea is definitely there for me. Interesting.

Interesting ideas - I love the thought of watching for signs from above! However, while normally I would deem being read to by the author a treat, this one was PAINFUL. Listening to her was tough to get through. Thank God it was only for a smidge over 2 hours...

The stories contained in these books are heart warming. I gave this to my Nana just before she passed over because she said that she was scared of dying. After reading this she was scared no more!

Thank you Doreen Virtue! You really are a Earth based Angel!

For the open minded only. This book will help those seeking Heavenly assistance and advice. You can learn a lot from this book on a spiritual level, you just have to be open minded enough to see and accept them.

🚀 Книгата в 3 изречения:

It's written in a typical American "it's so easy to do it" style, quite simplified and overly focused only on positive outcomes. Which from one hand is good because you can easily understand the idea, but on the other - dangerous for people who have no psychological background and life experience. Anyway, it helped me in a critical moment of my life, so I'll give it 4 stars instead of 3.

This was an excellent book on the topic. I found the entire book fascinating and I am happy to have bought more! This is so biblical and as I come from a Pastor’s family of 25 years I am so excited to say that this is one of the best books on Angels! Thanks Doreen Virtue.
