Are you politics watcher but burned by the political climate of our nation? Tired of hearing what's about the corruption, the misinformation, the backbiting and turmoil from all the political talking heads on cable?

Then it might be time for you to be inspired by reading Ginny Dent Brant's Finding True Freedom: From the White House to the World. This is a memoir unlike most you will read. It details the political and spiritual journey of Harry Dent and is told through the eyes of his daughter, Ginny Dent Brant.

Finding True Freedom is an intriguing view of a heart breaking time in our political history through the eyes of Ginny Dent Brant, daughter of Harry Dent, game changing political strategist.

Ginny Dent Brant walks the reader through Watergate years from the unique perspective of being the daughter of Harry Dent, accredited for propelling the southern states into a substantial power during the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

In the whirl of a political nightmare and holding such a key role in the Nixon administration, Harry Dent realized the truth in Romans 2:4 - "....that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance" when he found himself one of the few in the Nixon administration that was not charged with wrong doing.

Harry Dent surrendered his life to God after several conversations with his daughter and several miraculous events in his life.

God does wondrous things in ways even the wisest of men and women would not predict. Such is the case in the life of Harry Dent. After surrendering his life to the Lover of his soul, he founded Laity Alive, a ministry dedicated to training pastors in Romania.

This memoir is the story of one man's journey to faith and is written from a loving daughter's perspective. It is not often we get such an affectionate memoir.

I recently met Ginny at a writers breakfast in January. She is a thoroughly engaging person. She spoke with passion about her father and many stories in the book. If you are looking for a touching but realistic memoir, I recommend this one highly.

I had not heard of Ginny Dent Brant until a friend brought her to my attention as someone I should interview for my YouTube channel on memoir writing. When she spoke about her books, I couldn’t wait to purchase them for myself. Finding True Freedom recounts Ginny’s uncertain days of watching her father’s passion for politics. (Lots of well-documented info about his and others’ involvement in Watergate.) But Harry Dent experienced a conversion and left politics for the mission field of Romania. I wouldn’t normally read a book about politics; however, I highly recommend Finding True Freedom as it was a page turner for me.

"Finding True Freedom: From the White House to the World" is an outstanding memoir of Harry S. Dent by his devoted daughter, Ginny Dent Brant. Harry S. Dent was a most inspiring leader, a powerful political heavyweight, a hard-driving activist and a trailblazing pioneer, but his greatest and most profound impact was as a humble and dedicated servant who led countless people to Christ. Harry loved God and here lies his true greatness. His passion for truth won him the greatest victory in his life. He was a courageous man who did not flinch in the face of adversity. Harry passionately stood for freedom and staunchly defended it. Freedom is a striking paradox. It involves answering God's call for our lives. Harry responded to God's call and he found life in all its fullness. After the darkness of Watergate drew a veil over a distressing chapter of Harry's political life, another whole lifetime began for him. It was a new day and a new time in which Harry's own Watergate experience prompted him to begin an eternal and never-ending quest for the ultimate truth. Harry S. Dent was a visionary, quick to view a good cause as an opportunity to do what was right. He was a good person at heart, a man of courage and integrity. In February 1978, Harry Dent, aged forty-eight, finally gave his heart and life to God. It is not surprising to know that his greatest days were still ahead, waiting to see the light of dawn in the wings of time. When Harry Dent invited Christ into his life, the change in him was real and lasting. He became aware of what freedom truly is. He was powered and propelled by a passionate love for God and for people, which eventually led to the birth of his ministry called "Laity Alive and Serving", whose motto was "The Purpose of Life is to serve God." It was a channel for Harry to exhort people to live wholeheartedly for Christ. When Harry Dent eventually left politics in 1981, he sensed that God had chosen him for a special call and divine purpose. He decided to follow God's agenda and God's plan for his life. Harry's testimony states, "I am free in Christ." Ginny adds that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. "And only in Him can we find true freedom." "Freedom from bondage to sin is a precious gift indeed." Harry was striving "to know Him and make Him known." Harry and his wife, Betty knew with all their heart that they must first connect to God in order to be successful in carrying out His plan for their lives. They learnt to depend on God each moment of every day. They knew that safety was being right in the middle of God's will, where there is divine peace and security. They refused to fit into a certain pattern, having discovered that they were unique, one-of-a-kind people, who loved God with their whole heart and soul. Ginny Dent Brant has written a soul-stirring story of her father's life, filled with some of the most inspiring spiritual insights and thoughtful reflections of God's divine love and grace towards her family. As they passed through the long dark tunnel of their father's illness together, not one of them has forgotten what God did for their father. They saw God's Hand in their family, and they were grateful. Harry Dent and his devoted family found their true freedom in Christ, stepping out confidently from the White House to the World.

Harry S. Dent, Sr. was a Republican strategist from South Carolina. He is best known as the architect of the Southern Strategy, a policy created to win southern voters away from the Democratic party. He worked for Strom Thurmond, Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

In 1974, he pleaded guilty to aiding an illegal fundraising organization during the Nixon administration, but was only given one month's probation. Dent and Henry Kissinger were the only two Nixon staffers not to see jail time.

Ginny Dent Brant paints this biased memoir of her father in an extremely glowing light. She tells the tale of her father's time in Washington during the Watergate era, his later life as a mission to the people of Romania, and finally, his conversion to Christianity, through the eyes of an adoring daughter.

It might have been an easier tale to absorb if it hadn't been penned by such an adoring fan. I enjoyed to story of his conversion, but the rest of the story seemed a tad worshipful.
