Blood and Snow Season 2
Book 1 ~ Vampire Lies

*** Eyes like violet sapphires. Wings of smoldering fire. Consume your true love's blood. Become the Eternal Vampire. ***

Once upon a time there lived a vampire with wings and the genie who loved her...

Born of the seven magics, Jasmine is different in every way, including the obnoxious wings on her back courtesy of the original Vampires. She wants to be normal, to be a regular teenaged girl.

When a gorgeous dark-haired boy named Laeddin shows up and promises to sneak her away from all her problems and hide her in the human world, she agrees.

But an evil lurks in her nightmares, a man with red eyes. It doesn’t take long for Jasmine to realize that no matter how far she tries to run from who she is, he’s only a dream away. He wants her. He needs her. He acts as though he loves her.

It’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between the path that’ll lead to her happily ever after, and the path that’ll lead to her destruction as well as all magic.

This was different than I expected. Jasmine seems so wise in Christopher's short story, but in her own she's an immature, insecure, bratty teen. It was annoying at parts, but understandable. All Jasmine wants is to live a normal human life. And you can't blame her. Both of her parents were able to for a part of their lives so she is bound to envy that. Plus being the only vampire with wings can give a girl a complex. Laeddin was a cool character. I liked that he was a Genie and I found his back story interesting. I didn't even find his relationship with Jasmine that creepy. I mean they are magical beings and wasn't Snow trying to get with a Hunter that was pretty dang old when she was a teen? I don't know though...that last wish is going to screw everything up.

Jasmine is no ordinary teenage girl. If the enormous wings sprouting out of her back can't tell that much, her endless thirst for blood should do the trick. After spending her whole life in a magical kingdom full of vampires, of which her mother is queen, all Jasmine can think about is the human world. However, all she has is her dreams. That is until fate brings her to Leaddin, an ancient genie who promises the chance to finally leave her wings behind, and spend time as a normal teenager. In the human world, mysterious disappearances begin to fill newspapers, and Jasmine fears that she may be their next target. Will Jasmine and her allies be able to end the danger, or will she lose those people and things most dear to her? If you like fantasy books, specifically vampire stories, you may like this book.

Oh my Goodness, RaShelle Workman definitely delivered with the start of this book. She has completely out done herself! It was full of all the drama and fantasy that was included in the first season, but this takes on through a different point of view. Which I was totally not expecting, but I'm thankful that I have read it. I was happy to see that it had to do with Jasmine and it showed us how her life is beginning to change as a vampire with the seven powers and wings! Omg! Definitely worth whatever priced at, as I received this free for leaving a truthful review on my thoughts of the book.

*It does have a cliffhanger, but its worth it TRUST ME!*

RaShelle Workman has done it again! This is a great beginning to the second season <3 The story pulled me in from the first chapter. The author has a great way of keeping everything interesting, describing all the details amazingly...and she really knows how to end a book in a cliff hanger ;) I simply cannot wait to read the next one

The grass isn't alwasy greener on the other side. It's a sad lesson Jasmine had to learn. She wished to live like a human for most of her life. Then she met a genie Laeddin, who granted her that very wish. It was all fun and games in the beginning. But then, a school prank lead her to a forrest where she was almost killed by a dymora. Then her friend Abby was killed by that dymora. Jasmine finds out how the dymora came to be and who Laeddin really is, from her mother's pet cat Gastby. Having deep feelings for Laeddin, Jasmine follows him to his home land to meet the sorcerress, Maleficent to remove the curse. But in order to do so Jasmine has to give up something in return. When she does, she sees the terror that is Maleficent and the distruction she's caused. All the while back at her mother's childhood home, she hears 2 familiar voices as she sleeps. And never understood why they were so familiar until now.

This is the first book in Season 2 of the Blood and Snow series and it was a great to start to the season. I was so happy to see that this was about the child that Snow and Dorian had. Man, I loved them in the first season!

Jasmine is the daughter of Snow and Dorian and is a teenager who wants what most teenagers wish for. To be a normal kids, go to school, have friends and maybe a boyfriend. Being a vampire and one with wings too, doesn’t exactly make it easy plus she doesn’t live in the human realm anyway, she lives in Sharra. Laeddin is the genie that can grant that wish. So, of course when the chance comes to go and be the “normal” teenager she jumps on it. Jasmine has a whole new set of problems to deal with, not to mention there is a lot more to her new genie.

Jasmine beautiful with even more beautiful eyes and yes, she is a vampire but like most teenagers, she has a rebellious side. She didn’t make the best decisions with the wishes, but she took the consequences and tried to make the best of it and I liked that about her. She wasn’t whiny or weak. Laeddin was so serious, but he has always kinda fascinated with Jasmine. He was kinda a mystery at first and I enjoyed learning more about him through the eyes of Jasmine. There a few different people that were introduced both from the human side and Sharra and their part in Jasmines and Laeddin lives were important, one of which Jasmine should really watch out for.

The story reminds me of the Disney movie Aladin so it is going to be a wonderful season. The plot starts off pretty fast but does slow down once Jasmine makes it to the human realm, which was okay with me. I think it gave us a little more time to learn more about Jasmine, and the curse that plagues Laeddin and his family and how to stop it. And the whole mad with eye in her dreams was a little creepy but trying to figure out “who or what” he is, was great! Now, it was clear that Jasmine and Laeddin have feelings for each other, but with all the threats around them it kept getting pushed aside. There is no big romance, so if you’re looking for one you’ll probably be a little disappointed. I thought it was fun to watch them dance around their feelings and I am looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds as the series continues. The story itself was short and it almost felt too short, I would love to have more, especially with the ending being what it was. I need the next installment!

Vampire Lies is a fantastic start to the new season of Blood and Snow and I am really looking forward to seeing where Workman takes us next.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest, I had no idea RaShelle Workman had written all these other books in addition to the original Blood and Snow series! Where the heck have I been? I found out there was going to be a Season 2 and I was just short of sitting on her doorstep waiting for it to be published. Needless to say, I had extremely high expectations for this installment.

As I began reading Vampire Lies, I was first surprised that this season was from the perspective of Snow and Dorian's 7 Magics-baby, Jasmine. The pace was good at first, but then it slowed down significantly. It didn't come close to the page-turning anticipation I felt from the first season. For the most part, the bulk of the book was mundane and focused on normal, every day school-girl things with a murder or two thrown in between. I felt like the richness of the story was seriously lacking until the very end. I hate saying this because I really loved Season 1, and because of that I know what Workman is capable of, but I didn't see it here.

For instance, the character of Jasmine. She is capable of having so much more depth than what we saw in this first book. Yes, she was in a new environment as a result of rebelling against her placement in life, but how could this affect her reality aside from being ignorant of "normal" human ways? She could've delved into her Royal knowledge to put the bullies in their places. She could be much more bel-esprit for knowing what it is to run a kingdom and facets of the world that no one else knows about. She may feel stupid at first, but yet she has way more knowledge than anyone else around her.

Snow and Dorian could've played a much larger role. Yes, they figured things out quickly and came to oversee Jasmine, but she didn't once question the fact that it had been days and her parents hadn't questioned her absence. And although she lived in the real world, I felt like there should've been a little more of a connection to the magical world than what we were given.

I'm going to continue reading this Season because I still have faith that things will pick up and RaShelle Workman will release more emprise that she's hiding up her sleeves. The hardest part was that I had so many questions and wanted more out of the story. I just felt like the majority of it moved incredibly slow and so much more could've been happening. I still recommend the first Season to lovers of paranormal YA romance. And although this book didn't meet my expectations, I'm still looking forward to the next.

my reivewOk I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t read Blood and Snow season 1.  BUT WHEW am I going to now!  5 crazy ++++ beautiful +++++ magical stars! It’s like taking all of the fairytales you loved as a kid, mixing them up and putting some dark, twisty, hot and steamy elements in them.  WOW is all I can say! If you haven’t read the first series.  YOU MUST but don’t worry.  The story unfolds beautifully without knowing the history of the Vampire Queen. I can’t wait to read them all now *squeals*~!

Ok on with the show.

Jasmine is a teenage original vampire.  Daughter of Snow White, the Vampire Queen.  She also sports huge black wings that no other vampire of her kinds has.  She hates them and believes they keep her from living a normal life (or as normal as a teenager vampire can be).  After arguing with her parents one night she decides to return to her favorite hidden spot.  A magical cave where she meets Laeddan.

Laeddan is and has always been captivated by Jasmine.  He watches her every time she enters his home.  He tries to hold back but appears before her.  She is as captivated by him as he is her.  His blood is intoxicating.  When he tells her he is a genie and that by her finding his cave has made her his mistress.  What does a girl do?  She wants to be normal.  So she wishes it and off to Salem she goes where her wings are hidden and she can finally go to high school like a normal girl.  Only problem she still is a vampire and still craves blood.  Though Laedden helps her out in any way he can she still struggles with the urges and tries to make friends.  She finds that being a human teenager is much harder than she thought.  She is tricked into going into the woods by a girl from school where she comes across a man that has been cause of the recent killings.  She is attacked and fends him off only to find out that he is not human.  He vows revenge and starts hurting people that she cares about.

When that person happens to be Laeddan she is determined to do everything in her power to save him. Then…wait for it…wait for it.

BOOOOOMMM

BIG GIANT CLIFFHANGER LOL

Let’s just say I really really REALLY can’t wait to read the next one and can only hope it’s as good as this.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen or heard of or read any retelling of Aladdin in which Jasmine is a vampire and the daughter of Snow White, and Aladdin (Laeddin) is a genie. So when I read the synopsis for this book, I knew I had to read it! And I can't believe I waited so long - this book was absolutely fantastic.

Although I definitely should have read all of season 1 first before I started reading season 2... I think it would have been really interesting to see all of the similarities and all of the background and characters from the previous season all woven into Jasmine's story and making appearances. I mean, don't get me wrong, you could totally read this as a standalone series. There's enough background information to know what's going on and who is who and the major details of what happened in the past. It's just always nice to be in on the secrets! Also, there are some minor spoilers for season 1, so if you plan on reading it and hate spoilers, definitely don't read this book first.

I had this really frustrating love-hate relationship with Jasmine for most of this book. I can totally understand how Jasmine would want to be a normal teenager, and I loved the parallel to the original/the Disney film, but there were times when she just complains SO much and I wanted to slap her. I think it really kept her from being too stagnant though, because at least she had a little bit of personality and began to see the error of her ways.

The plot moves along pretty quickly in this book, and I was surprised when I flipped the page on my Kindle and... it was over! I was definitely more wrapped up in this story that I thought, and RaShelle's fantastic writing left me wanting more. I enjoyed meeting all of the kids at Jasmine's high school, and seeing familiar faces from A Beauty So Beastly. I also thought it was interesting how Jasmine's wish had such dire consequences. Nothing is ever as easy as making a wish, and I'm interested to see how that will play out with her remaining wishes.

I also really enjoy how RaShelle incorporates all of the fairy tales in to one series. You've got Beauty & the Beast hanging out over in A Beauty So Beastly, Snow White, Jasmine & Aladdin, and even Maleficent! I love how everyone exists in the same world with their own stories. I'm really looking forward to reading more of the books in this world, and especially reading the next book, Vampire Secrets. If you're looking for a series that takes every fairy tale you know and spins it on its head, you should definitely read these books! 4/5.

It’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between the path that’ll lead to her happily ever after, and the path that’ll lead to her destruction as well as all magic.
I have not read any other parts of this series. I really was not lost just reading this though.
I did enjoy this book, but on some of it I had to roll my eyes. Like the O-phone. (Instead of the I-phone)
I am really loving the genie. I did like how she has incorporated all different kinds’ types of paranormal groups in the books. Usually you don’t see Vampire/Genie.
I am going to read the next installment because I want to know who is haunting her dreams. Also what is going to happy to Jasmine???

I was given this book to read and give an honest review. This review is my honest opinion and I have fully read this book.

When asked about their favourite book series readers may say Twilight, The Hunger Games, Divergent or House of Night. On the other hand I will always name RaShelle Workman's first season of the Blood and Snow series as my favourite; they are by far the most read books I have on my Kindle! As soon as I discovered RaShelle Workman was releasing a second season of the series, starting with Vampire Lies, I knew I had to be first in line to read a copy!
Vampire Lies begins the story of Jasmine, the 'daughter', of Snow and Dorian. She is nearly 16 and frustrated with her life in Sharra, being the only vampire with wings and surviving on the blood of magical species. One day she meets Laeddin, a genie who grants her wish to be 'normal', removing her wings and transporting her from her home to the human world.
Vampire Lies is not the romance some readers may hope for. It is clear that Jasmine has feelings for Laeddin but his are ambiguous; his sense of responsibility as Jasmine's servant far outweighing and desire for her he may have. Yet, with the appearance of Jasmine's dream man, which is reminiscent of Christopher in Blood and Snow, it is although the emotions Jasmine feels for Laeddin increase in intensity.
Once again with this novel RaShelle Workman has revealed her talent as a writer, weaving together motifs from several traditional fairy tales to create a modern story which is compelling, dramatic and innovative.
I cannot wait until the next installment of season two, but at least until then I may have time to read Blood and Snow season one again . . . .

This is a twist on the tale of Aladdin. Jasmine, daughter of Snow White Vampire Queen of Sharra, has discovered that her secret hideaway is in fact the home of Laeddin, a genie. And she learns that she has been his master for several years and must make 3 wishes.

Jasmine's first wish is to wish her wings away and for a normal high school life on Earth instead of Sharra. She hates her wings, they mark her as 'other', the only Original Vampire in all of Sharra, and they prevent her from traveling to Earth to experience all she wants to: movies, high school, friends, etc.

But when she gets her wish, she discovers that it's not all that it's cracked up to be, she desperately misses her best friend, and she has feelings for Laeddin. That...and there is a monster on the loose. One she could handle if she had her wings and the powers they grant her.

I really liked this book. I'm excited about the rest of the season and to see where this lands. Like most teenagers, Jasmine doesn't quite think things through and ignores her instincts. She is having issues with her parents (growing pains!) and yearns for a love as great as theirs. Although there were a few homonym misuse mistakes in my copy, it was an ARC, so I'm sure those would be fixed up. Overall, I loved the story and the plot and look forward to seeing how this unravels in future episodes. Jasmine was on the verge of making a good decision, but ultimately made a poor one at the very end of this book...and it has endangered lives: hers and others. Can't wait to see what happens next!

This book was so good I couldn't put it down. It's loosely based off of Aladdin, but it focuses more on Jasmine which I really liked. Jasmine is born as an original vampire with no one of her kind left or like her. She feels alone until she meets her very own genie Laeddin who can give her 3 wishes. I liked that most of Jasmine's personality is just like princess Jasmine from Aladdin. I feel like if she were too different I wouldn't have liked the book as much. I also love how in these fairytale retellings Workman works in characters from other tales. It makes the books that much more interesting and exciting to read about. Workman is truly a creative author and she certainly made this tale her own. The book did have an Aladdin retelling feel to it, but also had Workman's own touch to the book which I really can appreciate. I've read my share of retellings and some good others not just because of the author's lack of their creative thoughts. I was hoping that I would enjoy this book since it's loosely based off of my favorite Disney princess. I more than enjoyed this book, I absolutely loved it! It's really one of my favorites and I plan to get the series in paperback as soon as I can! This is a great edition to my bookshelf that I could really use!

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

Vampire Lies is the first book in the second season of Blood and Snow. It features Snow's daughter, Jasmine, who is a bit unhappy with the duties that come with being a princess. I won't say who Jasmine's daddy is, don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the first season of Blood and Snow. Start with those first.

I love serial novels. For a busy lifestyle, it's nice to have books come out on a regular basis to continue the story. It's kind of like the difference between watching your favorite TV shows as they air, or waiting to see them all at once on Netflix. For me, at least, the latter can be rather daunting.

Jasmine meets a genie who grants her wish to be normal. She loses her wings and winds up in the world of humans. She starts her mundane life as a regular teenager with regular problems. Of course the supernatural is never far behind when it's in your very blood. It also doesn't help that she has feelings for her genie while he tries to keep everything business between them.

This twist on the classic Aladdin is off to an interesting start. I'm looking forward to the next installment of Jasmine's story.

I was highly anticipating this new book in the Blood and Snow series. I fell in love with the little Jasmine in season one and was hoping that there would be a story about her. I must say this is a wonderful addition to the series. Rashelle never disappoints. Once I started this book I could not put it down until I finished it. It was so nice to be back in that world with those characters that I loved so much from the first season. There were also new characters that were introduced and I can't wait to see what happens and where this story goes. This book is a must read as are all of the others before this one. Thank you for writing such amazing books that I can lose myself in for a time.

Keeping true to her magical worlds and characters, Miss Workman has once again given us a beautiful and magical story. It's the next generation. Snow's daughter is not much unlike her mother was in her books. Strong, curious, and feeling like an outcast. When fate intervenes to give her what she was wishing for, it's not all it was seemed to be. Not only is she feeling homesick while trying to navigate new friends, she is burdened with a danger that has been years in the making. I was hooked from page one and am excited to see what happens next!

Fantastic start to season two of Blood and Snow! While I loved hearing Snow 's tale, Jasmine gives this season a new twist. Jasmine, as a typical teenager, thinks her parents won't let her so anything she wants. So when opportunity presents itself, she takes advantage of her newfound freedom. However. she quickly realizes that magic will follow her no matter where she goes. Now she's in a race against evil to perfect her friends.

RaShelle continues her revamped storytale twist on favorite childhood fairy tales. She writes an enthralling tale of adventure, with great character development.
