Millionaire Rory (Raw) Westgrove needs a new PA. More importantly, he wants Lacey Simpson in his bed. He’s arrogant enough to believe his outrageous proposal is the answer to both problems.
Lacey Simpson is nobody’s fool – she knows his game. She may need the job, and she certainly needs the money, but if he thinks he can get her into his bed, he’d better think again.
I struggled a little at first with this book, I think mainly because I wasn't that struck on Lacey well it wasn't that I wasn't struck on her I felt sometimes she was too much, she'd fly completely off the handle and although I like a strong independent woman she did make be cringe in places, for example when she told Rory to "Shut the f*** up! I'm speaking" twice it just didn't work for me, but then she started to grow on me and the more I read the more I enjoyed it. To be honest I nearly stopped reading about a quarter of the way in but I'm glad I stuck with it, the end of the book is a bit like a dash to the finish line but since it's part of a series it's not the end of their story as I'm sure bits will play out in the background of Todd and Carol's books. Will I read the next book that depends mainly on how much it costs, there was enough in this to peak my interest and Todd is a mystery at the moment so I'd like to continue and it's nice to read a british romance for a change.
Didn't care for the heroine all that much until much later in the story. Delayed gratification as the H/h don't get together until the very end of this British romance. Then it's not really an HEA but more like a to be continued in bk 2.
It was a good book. This girl was in desperate need of a job. She met this guy where she worked and they started dating. I bet in the future they will get married.
I bloody enjoyed this book. I loved the feistiness of Lacey and the cheekiness of Rory, the banter between the two was excellent and believable. I really loved that it was set in the UK and wasn't Americanised english.
It is proper good chick-lit and would make an excellent holiday read.
This would have been a 5 star rating, but as other reviewers have commented the ending seemed rushed and lacked some of the depth shown in the rest of it.
I can't wait for the next book.
With my Kindle Freebie Whoring ways I managed to get this book when it was free. It's currently £1.99, which is a fair price for this gem of a book.
An ok little read tho I did find that I got a little frustrated, and just when it starts getting good.. It ends. We have Lacey who's working a crappy job, who gets an unexpected job offer right when she needs it. The thing that annoyed me the most was her bravado of telling Raw (Yep, the main male character) that she wouldn't sleep with him and then... She sleeps with him!! She has a rather annoying room mate, Suzy who takes after Sam from sex and the city, but is very ditzy and has no trouble cheating on her boyfriend with multiple partners... Again I say, an ok read :)
I wanted to like this one based on recommendations from a few people who have suggested books that I liked in the past. However, I found Lacey irritating and snappish rather than snarky. The character development was lacking and there didn't seem to be a true direction with the story/plot as evidenced by the very abrupt ending. If this means that the author is writing a series, I am out. 1.5 stars.
It took a little time but by the end of this book I was completely involved in the story. I enjoyed the interaction between the Raw and Lacey. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Lacey works in a pizza parlour struggling to make ends meet. After an unexpected pizza delivery to a penthouse Lacey is in danger of being made homeless. After being made an offer she can't refuse she goes to work for the sexy and arrogant Raw but will Lacey be able to earn her bonus?
The heroin was a total bitch Hey best friend which I assume is having a story in the next book is a total slut The hero has no character at all. All the time I imagined him talking I've heard flat voice speaking. He totally sounded like a teenage nerd. The plot was stupid and see lacking in every way and the writing was juvenile.
Didn't didn't wasn't really an ending. There wasn't any I love yous or happily ever after.

So this book had a lot of potential. I want to read rest in the series to see what happens to the characters. I think the writing wasn't the best and there was no build or indication that that's where they were leading. Like one minute bonus was on the table she has will next it was off she and she was moving in.
I don't think I have ever laughed so much whilst reading a book. Okay yes, it was pretty random most of the time, but in my opinion that's what makes this book stand out. The dialogue made me cry with laughter and I fell in love with the character's because of it. I am definitely going to be reading this one whenever I'm having a bad day.
I wasn't impressed with the books. Mainly the characters and the ending reminded me of one of those short serial novels that when it gets good it ends. But not in a way it made me want to read the next story. I couldn't bring myself to like Lacey and the story was a little predictable.
I was loving it and just when the build up seemed to be pouring out, BAM! The story completely changes and ends abruptly. A little too much for my tastes. Totally ruined what I thought was a cute, funny, somewhat sexy read.
what an odd couple. lackey and raw or always at each other. he hired her on the fly to be his pa. she's anything and everything that he needs. loved the in and out of these two.
It really started off well and mostly through the book, until the last 2 chapters. It went right into something I was not expecting. I actually went back a chapter to make sure I did not miss something. I think the author jumped too fast at the end and could have ended smoothed into better
I adored it I cant wait to read the rest so wroth it and so hot sexy I am curious who Carol date is because I think it is someone her bothers works with if so awesome and not still great you better start reading this right now
