I wasn't so sure about this manga when I first started it. I stumbled across it on numerous top horror mangas to read and simply added it to my MyAnimeList manga to read list. Deciding to clean it out a bit, I selected Blue Heaven as it only had three volumes so it proved to be a quick read and one that wouldn't be detrimentally terrible to sit through if I hadn't enjoyed it.

After reading through the first volume, however, I am more than intrigued. This is dark, not to a terribly horrifying degree, but the darkness contained is enough to make the reader feel pity and some anxiety in their chest as they read it. Being more of a thriller, it's not quite my type of horror manga but it definitely put me straight into the mood to read it.

It holds a relatively basic plot in my opinion but it's a good read. It gripped me very quickly and I'm very excited to read through the next two volumes of this for the characters alone. It's well rounded and hints at being a good read.

For my first work by Takahashi Tsutomu, I'm very happy about the work I picked out. From this first volume alone, I'll definitely be reading more of his works in the future.

Good Art and Plot. Would have enjoyed it more if it was not rushed in three volumes and instead we had a long cat and mouse game between the two
Psycho Monsters. Takahashi is the best in drawing Intense Art.

3.5/5 Horror on a boat thats leaves me with some questions. Hopefully they get answered in the other 2 volumes. Aside that, good suspense and mystery to some of the characters.

3.5/5 ⭐️

Je pense que j’aurais préféré une explication plus glauque encore que celle donnée pour justifier du comportement de l’antagoniste, mais l’histoire tient la route.

I’ve been trying to get back into manga lately, and have specifically been trying to read lesser known or more niche works. This came to me in a list on TikTok from a creator who had similar tastes to me. The premise here is interesting. The crew of a luxury cruise ship comes upon an abandoned fishing boat with only two survivors. We later find out one of the survivors is a vicious killer, and they are now on the loose a giant cruise ship with endless victims. We also learn that the cruise ship itself is a host to some rich and nefarious people. This had an interesting first volume, and I appreciated the art style and the story direction. While I didn’t particularly enjoy the translation in certain parts, I do acknowledge that I am reading a fan translated copy and am just thankful someone put in the work to translate this to English for those who can’t read it in the native language. This was a fun introduction to this story and does a great job at setting things up then immediately jumping into the action.

Low, C Tier - Ranking for whole series.

The plot itself is relatively straightforward, with no groundbreaking twists or deep philosophical themes that will leave you pondering for days. It’s not the type of story that will shake your understanding of the world, but there’s something undeniably compelling about it. The real hook here isn’t a complex narrative or profound insights, but the characters. They’re well-rounded, and their struggles are relatable enough to keep you invested. Even without an intricate storyline, I found myself invested in the journey.

It’s the kind of read that doesn’t demand too much from you but still manages to captivate. It’s a fun, darkly atmospheric experience that stays with you just enough to make you want to dive into the next volume. Overall, it’s not a mind-blowing, deep read, but it’s a thrilling, enjoyable one that requires very little time investment.

Eerie, haunting, claustrophobic to some extent. A mystery about a man and the fate of a cruise ship. Most of the characters doesn't really have that much depth or personality that matters or makes them memorable(not that there's a need for that), they mostly have quirks or traits that don't really add much, just mostly a tool, a cause for them to be placed at a certain time or place, like a piece of a puzzle one might say. The antagonist although we don't know much about him has the most depth and personality but it doesn't delve into character psychology which inherently is not a bad thing.
wrapping it up the things that were enticing to me:
The antagonist
The ship (surprisingly it is like a living organism, it has depth and character)
The atmosphere

Başları hoş ve gerilimli ilerledi. Merak ettirerek devam etti. Ama yine de olayların yavaş ilerlemesi epey sıktı beni. Çizimleri fena değildi. Seriye devam etmeyi zorunlu kılan bir manga.

This manga has potential but it started to get interesting towards the end. The manga didn't impress me in any particular way. I hope the next volumes will be better :/

(After reading the whole series): it's a shame that whole plot was cut down to only three volumes, I believe this story had potential to be way more complex and entertaining if everything didn't happen so fast and chaotically - however, still worth giving it a shot
