Hi! I'm twenty five years old and movie star gorgeous. The camera added thirty plus years and a few wrinkles. Can't trust those cameras or mirrors either. Along with bathroom scales they are notorious liars! Honestly, I am the mother of three fantastic grown children who've made me laugh and given me more story ideas than I could ever write. My husband, Charles, is my strongest supporter and my best friend. He's even willing to eat fast food and help with the laundry while I finish one more chapter! Life is good and I am blessed!

Reading has been a passion since I was five years old and figured out those were words on book pages. As soon as my chubby little fingers found they could put words on a Big Chief tablet with a fat pencil, I was on my way. Writing joined reading in my list of passions. I will read anything from the back of the Cheerio's box to Faulkner and love every bit of it. In addition to reading I enjoy cooking, my family and the ocean. I love the Florida beaches. Listening to the ocean waves puts my writing brain into high gear.

I love writing romance because it's about emotions and relationships. Human nature hasn't changed a bit since Eve coveted the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Settings change. Plots change. Names change. Times change. But love is love and men and women have been falling in and out of it forever. Romance is about emotions: love, hate, anger, laughter... all of it. If I can make you laugh until your sides ache or grab a tissue then I've touched your emotions and accomplished what every writer sets out to do.

I got serious about writing when my third child was born and had her days and nights mixed up. I had to stay up all night anyway and it was very quiet so I invested in a spiral back notebook and sharpened a few pencils. The story that emerged has never sold but it's brought in enough rejection slips to put the Redwood Forest on the endangered list. In 1997 Kensington bought two books for their Precious Gems line. Two years and six books later the line died with only four of those books seeing publication. But by then Avalon had bought a book and another, and another. Ten years later the list has grown to thirty nine. Last year Sourcebooks bought the Lucky Series which is in the bookstores now. They've also bought The Honky Tonk Series which will debut with I LOVE THIS BAR in June and will be followed by HELL, YEAH, MY GIVE A DAMN'S BUSTED, and HONKY TONK CHRISTMAS.

Folks ask me where I get my ideas. Three kids, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Note: I was a very young grandmother! Life is a zoo around here when they all come home. In one Sunday afternoon there's enough ideas to keep me writing for years and years. Seriously, ideas pop up at the craziest times. When one sinks its roots into my mind, I have no choice but to write the story. And while I'm writing the characters peek over my shoulder and make sure I'm telling it right and not exaggerating too much. Pesky little devils, they are!

I have a wonderful agent, Erin Niumata, who continues to work magic and sell my work. I'm very lucky to have her and my editors who continue to believe in me.

Happy reading!

The Trouble With Texas Cowboys was an easy going country romance that made me smile and laugh throughout!

Jill Cleary and Sawyer O’Donnell have just arrived to work at Fiddle Creek Ranch. Sawyer has come on as the new foreman of the ranch, and Jill is there to work and become familiar with Fiddle Creek because she’s to inherit it eventually. What neither expects is to land smack in the middle of two feuding families, The Gallaghers and The Brennans, dragging both Sawyer and Jill into the fray. Because Jill will inherit Fiddle Creek Ranch with its coveted water rights, both sides send a sexy cowboy to woo and capture her affections: Tyrell Gallagher and Quaid Brennan. Sawyer is also the subject of the aggressive advances from both sides: Kinsey Brennan and Betsy Gallagher. Bad news for both sides, Jill and Sawyer only have eyes for each other.

Sawyer and Jill fight their mutual attraction for about two seconds, and through most of the book it was a steady progression, sweet and sexy at the same time. They’re forced to draw close and stick together because of the crazy stunts these feuding families pull, and it makes them realize their connection is more than just a flash in the pan. No unnecessary drama arises between these two, which was a major relief for me. I hate unnecessary conflict between couples!

The drama, which was both outrageous and funny at times, comes from the insane Gallaghers and Brennans! Unfortunately, Sawyer and Jill get caught in between the feuds in spite of trying to stay out of things, but no worries, nothing a loaded shotgun won’t fix. This is Texas, after all. Haha!

Ever since watching a becoming addicted to McLeod’s Daughters, an Australian cowboy ranching drama/romance series, several years back, I’ve secretly longed to have my own ranch. Riding horses through beautiful rolling hills while herding animals, and then coming home to my very own sexy cowboy! Hey, a girl can dream, right? So I’m always attracted to any story with cowboys included.

I’ve read a couple Carolyn Brown’s romances before The Trouble With Texas Cowboys and I adore her down to earth story telling. She throws in a lot of humor and Southern charm, and I always picture the characters speaking with a strong Southern accent. Love a sexy Southern drawl! I’d like to go back and read Callie and Finn’s story in the first installment: Cowboy Boots for Christmas: (Cowboy Not Included). Don’t you just love that title?

Quickie Review:

That was a real good time. An easy read with a slow burning romance that was just sweet and heartwarming and set to a backdrop of one crazy little Texas ranching community that's set to feuding and driving everyone a little bit crazy.

Full review:

Well, that was a real good time. I mean. You know it's gonna be a lively time when things kick off with the heroine holding the hero at gun point with a shotgun. And The Trouble with Texas Cowboys definitely delivered with a slow burning romance that was sweet, heartwarming and impossible not to smile over as Jill and Sawyer decide to team up for their own protection against a crazy little town that's feuding and set on dragging them into the mix.

So. Both Jill and Sawyer are newly arrived to Burnt Boot. They're both going to work on her auntie's ranch and wind up having to live together much to their mutual surprise. Even better...they get hit with another blow. The two families that are feuding in this town have set their sights on wooing Jill and Sawyer. Both families want them bad and plan on stealing their affections away from their rivals. And telling them "no"...just ain't cutting it with these folks much to Jill and Sawyer's ever loving dismay.

I loved the romance between Jill and Sawyer. These two got off on a rough start but real quick life had them bonding and having each other's backs as they fight off their woo-ers and having to work pretty much 24/7 together for weeks on end. Life's exhausting but they're making the best of it together. Jill's a pretty tough one. Feisty and lively and willing to work hard and get her hands dirty. And Sawyer. Lordy he's sexy. Sweet, cooks, a solid support and oh man definitely romantic in his own way. He had me swooning no question.
Right smack in the middle was an old chipped crock cookie jar. Glazing cracks started at the bottom and wove their way in different directions, some on the sides, with others winding their way around in circles.
"Are we having cookies with our waffles?" Jill asked.

"Look at it closely," Sawyer grinned, "Pay especially close attention to the lid."

"Daisies," She smiled.

"I would have gone out into the pasture and picked some wild ones for you, but it's the wrong time of year. That's all I could find with a daisy on it," Sawyer said.

I loved watching them slowly fall without realizing it. Becoming best friends and each other's support. It was sweet, charming and made me go all girly. They just had cute moments like joint naps together when the days were long and they were tuckered. Heat-wise. LOTS of sexual tension and chemistry but then sex scenes over before you could blink an eye. That was a wee bit disappointing to me. I would have liked to see more of the "wild and passionate" moments but the tease was nice even without them.

The town...batshit crazy. Funny but crazy. Like cray cray crazy. These families have feuded for years and they just won't give it up. Stealing hogs, cows, causing fires and bar fights and starting up the great "Pig Wars". Oh man you'd just want to slap them silly for sure. But it was still a riot and a chuckle-worthy backdrop for the story.

I did have one quibble. Not huge but that kept hanging me up. Contractions. They were used sometimes but then others not at all which made for some stilted dialogue. It just didn't flow and was too formal for how most people would speak. Especially easy going cowboys.

But overall...The Trouble with Texas Cowboys was a fun and quirky ride. Not too much happened but everything happened at the same time. It made me snicker and laughingly roll my eyes over all the antics and shed a few tears too. Brown definitely has a way of has me interested in more from Brown.

Although not as comical as the 1st in this series, it was still a fun read. I enjoyed both the H&h. The feud still continues in this story and is as crazy as ever.

I received a arc copy in exchange for a honest review.

This story is the first book I have ever read from this author, and y'all know how much I love my sexy cowboys...and boy was this book sexy and hot and fun. It definitely blew me away on how much I came to enjoy this story and it really didn't really grab my attention until a few chapters but once I was into this book...watch out peeps...or I might just bite you if you interrupt me while reading this one. I had previously seen high ratings for this author, and I was unsure how I would feel about this one, but I have to say that I was delightfully pleased when I finished this one, and for a contemporary romance, it had the sense and feeling to the story that makes it easy to connect with on a emotional level.

The story begins when Sawyer, takes a job offer, to work on a ranch, but upon entering the bunkhouse, he finds a gun pointing at him and the owner a sexy red head. Their first meeting could have been done better, at first Sawyer is not impressed with Jill, the last thing he wants is to enter any sort of relationship with a woman that is willing to fire a gun at anyone. Jill takes things as they come, when she gets a opportunity to come back to the ranch to help out, she learns that that she is the heir to Fiddle Creek ranch, and before Sawyer and Jill realize it, they are put in the middle of a fierce feud, and they join forces to remain neutral from these families who only want the coveted land. But soon Sawyer and Jill soon learn that you can't resist attraction, and these two have it by the extreme. From their first kiss...they know it would be trouble to get involved. But neither can they resist, especially when they have to work together to come out on top of the feuding families crazy schemes.

What a romp of a cowboy romance this one was...so wasn't expecting to like it so much and I love it when Contemporaries really surprise me. I sometimes have a hard time reading them, I personally seem to connect more with paranormals and Historical romances....so its always such a joy to find a story that turns me upside down in delight and giggles and balls of laughs. Now this story with the focus being the feud, reminding me Joan Johnston's feud series (which if you like that aspect, I would also highly recommend_. This is a theme you don't see in romances as much anymore...which is a tad sad since I really enjoy the theme...I think it adds a certain element that can engage the reader in ways that other romantic themes don't.

These feuding families sure do get creative and super crazy...I mean do these things actually happen in the real world? I have no idea, I have never known anyone involved in a feuding scenario, but this author surely brought this story to life...and what competition there is. So bizarre at times, the things they will do in order to get a piece of land...I mean seriously. But I have to say this was a hoot of fun, and I just couldn't get enough of this story. The vivid detail and descriptions are amazing, and you can tell that Carolyn Brown knows the western life and all aspects related to it and its displayed quite obviously in the story, but not too obvious, she seems to blend it in well with the plot and other various aspects of the book, and it all goes together in a way that will really have you turning those pages.

This pair was quite fun, and they had quite some sizzling connection here. I actually adored these two together, and even though in some way they are complete opposites..you see that in the ways that matter they compliment each other so well and their relationship is a bit unique and they tend to do things a bit backwards than the normal average relations. However I found this way very stimulating, and what I truly loved about this story was how overall it was sexy yet tender and charming...a story to keep you aching for more!! STUNNING!!

Originally reviewed for Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and Fantasy.

This Series continues to crack me up. Carolyn Brown has a gift! She writes about the truly insane.. you know normal, everyday small town America and the folks that live there.

The Trouble with Texas Cowboys is book two in her Burnt Boot Series and it was just as fun as book one.

Jill Cleary has spent her life dreaming of owning a ranch and finally it looks like she has a chance. For now she's just going to be working for her Aunt at the Fiddle Creek Ranch but she has dreams of someday owning it. Everything shows promise until she realizes that not only will she be sharing responsibilities with Sawyer O'Donnell but she will be sharing the bunk house as well.I suppose it's not too shabby since he is such magnificent eye candy and all...

Sawyer O'Donnell is the second O'Donnell to ride into Burnt Boot. Now he knew about the feud and thought he could handle it, what he didn't realize was he was also going to have to handle pint sized Jill Cleary.. too bad she didn't look like the back end of a horse.. that he could handle. But noooooo, Jill is sexy and all too desireable.. even the local feuding families think so.

Sawyer and Jill just want to run Fiddle Creek but fate and feuding families have an altogether different idea. No sooner had the two settled in when Jill's other aging aunt is injured and forced to first stay at the hospital and then recooperate at home.. and wouldn't you know it, Aunt #1 wants to stay with her. That leaves Jill in charge of the Town tavern AND the town store, two of the three neutral places in town.

Of course the shenanigans begin as soon as fresh blood is scented. Once again the women are trying to drag Sawyer to the alter and the men? Let's just say they have a very decided interest in Miss Jill. Of course, hijinks commence!

This is one of those books that can't really be reviewed, it has to be read to be believed. Ms. Brown is more than a little brilliant and probably slightly insane herself (or other way around). But she offers us a treat to be devoured!

Honestly, I can only say excellent things about this awesome book! Check it out! It's a must read!!

Four stars: A fun, feisty, feuding families book.

Sawyer O'Donnell stares down the barrel of a sawed off shotgun. A feisty red haired woman is pointing the gun at him, demanding to know why he is in her bunkhouse. Her bunkhouse!? It is his bunkhouse. He is the new hired foreman of Fiddle Creek Ranch in Burnt Boot, Texas. The hot tempered red head turns out to be Jill Cleary, the niece of Gladys Cleary, the owner of Fiddle Creek. Sawyer and Jill are going to be sharing the bunkhouse and working the ranch together. The two quickly turn into allies when they find they are dragged smack dab in the middle of the century long feud between the Gallagher and Brennan families. Neither wants to be courted by a Gallagher or Brennan, so they decide to watch each other's backs. Will romance once again flare in Burnt Boot?
What I Liked:
*I keep saying this, but reading a Carolyn Brown book is comfort reading. I love slipping into her stories with sexy cowboys, feisty gals and sharp tongued old ladies who make me laugh. This latest installment in the Burnt Boot Series is no exception. I loved revisiting Burnt Boot and watching a new romance unfold. If you need a pick me up, feel good read, I recommend this series.
*The romance is excellent. I love that it takes its slow, sweet time to develop. It is a case where two folks are thrown together under unlikely circumstances and they end up forging a solid friendship which blossoms into something more. *I enjoyed seeing Jill and Sawyer form a friendship as they worked side by side day in and day out, and I loved how they had to outwit the feuding Gallaghers and Brennans. This is a romance that is full of heat and chemistry and it takes its time getting to the good stuff. A very satisfying romance.
*I wasn't the biggest fan of the Gallagher/ Brennan feud in the first book, mainly because Cowboy Boots for Christmas was a holiday read and I thought the feud took away from the cozy holiday cheer. This time around, I was more entertained by the fighting. There are some crazy hijinks and some out and out brawling that made me laugh. I can honestly say, I wouldn't want to live amongst those two families, as they are down right nasty but highly entertaining.
*Even though this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone since it is a companion book. You get a complete story in this one, and all the loose ends are tied up at the end.
And The Not So Much:
*I thought the feud was funnier this time around, but I am still wanting to know about more about the origins. Why on earth have the two families carried on for so long? Second, some of the antics are so over the top, I couldn't believe what went on, and that law enforcement wasn't drawn in, but then again, I don't know much about small towns in Texas and what goes on there, so maybe it is more realistic than I know.
*I was hoping to catch up a bit with Callie and Finn, the players from the first book. While Callie and Finn do make several appearances, they are just quick cameos and nothing is really revealed about how they are all doing on Salt Draw.
*The end was a bit too fast paced. When the book gets to the sweet spot, it moves at break neck speed to a quick conclusion, I wanted more time in the happily ever after!

The Trouble with Texas Cowboys is another hilarious installment in the Burnt Boot Series. I loved the sweet, slow romance and all the feuding antics. If you enjoy comfort reading, this is a must read series. I am eager to pick up the next book and see how the feud escalates.
Favorite Quotations:
"Nothing was ever definite, but in that moment, Jill's soul had found a permanent home."

"Money is just dirty paper with dead presidents' pictures on it."

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

This was a really fun book. Sawyer has been hired as the foreman of Fiddle Creek Ranch and is just moving into the bunkhouse when he's confronted by a woman with a shotgun. Jill Cleary is the niece of the ranch owner and has come to learn the ins and outs of the ranch she will someday inherit. Once their identities are straightened out, a truce is called between them - just in time for them to need each other's help.

Fiddle Creek is located on land in between two feuding families, families that both want that land. Both sides think that the best way to reach their goal is by marriage. Jill finds herself caught in the crosshairs of two good looking cowboys determined to win her hand. She starts out willing to give each of them a chance, but quickly discovers that it's Sawyer that has her attention.

Sawyer finds himself in the middle of his own nightmare. He's got a woman from each of the two feuding families intent on hogtying him and he wants nothing to do with either one of them. Unfortunately, neither one is listening when he tells them no. He's far more interested in Jill, but they have to work together, which makes anything else a bad idea.

The book starts out with both Sawyer and Jill getting blindsided by Brennans and Gallaghers, invited to Sunday meals before they can figure out how to say no. Jill finds it hard to believe that these guys are so intent on wooing her, but has to believe it after Sawyer explains the feud, her ranch, and its place in the scheme of things. The dinner scenes and the feud activities during them were really funny to read. When it was all over, Sawyer and Jill made a pact to support and protect each other from both sides.

They have just started getting into the swing of things on the ranch when Polly, friend of Jill's Aunt Gladys, breaks her ankle. With Gladys needed to take care of her, that leave Jill and Sawyer also left with the responsibilities of running Gladys's store and Polly's bar. They discover that if they stick together they have a better chance of making it through the crazy actions of the two feuding families. The attraction that started to sizzle as soon as they met continues to grow, and their feelings right along with it. I liked the way that Jill is feisty and straightforward. She's got some hurt in her past that makes her a little wary of getting involved with Sawyer at first. She has some pretty amusing conversations with herself as she's trying to keep her distance, but once she makes the jump, she's all in. Sawyer has his own heartbreak, but once he's gotten to know Jill he realizes that she's the one for him. He's funny and sexy and sweet all wrapped up together. He has a few moments of thinking he's not good enough for her, but those don't last too long. I loved watching their relationship go from friendship and support sliding into love before they realized it. There was no huge conflict or misunderstanding to drive them apart, just the realization that they wanted to be together forever. Sawyer has some really sweet and romantic moments during the buildup to the end.

The antics of the two feuding families keep the story line hopping. The opening salvos of the "pig wars" have Sawyer and Jill shaking their heads in disbelief. The propensity of the two sides to descend into fighting at the drop of a hat makes for some pretty stressful yet hilarious moments. The bar fight between the two women was pretty funny, with the men standing back, not quite sure what to do (other than place bets on the winner). I loved Jill's simple way of stopping it. Things got a little tense when Sawyer and Jill got kidnapped after work one night, then kidnapped from the kidnappers. Sawyer's presence of mind got them out of that predicament, but left both of them ticked at the stupidity of it all. I enjoyed Jill's way of getting a little bit even with them both. I got a giggle over the two kittens that came from the feuding cowboys and the names that Sawyer and Jill gave them. The battles between the two sides continued with more livestock heists, and a refusal of either side to back down. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next book.

With this second installment of the Burnt Boot, TX series, the feud is heating up and its more than banjos that dual as Sawyer O'Donnell takes the job as foreman for one of the neutral people, Gladys Cleary who owns a small spread and runs the store. He is joined by Gladys' niece, Jill Cleary, and almost the moment he meets the sassy red head sparks fly. But not between the two newest members of the Burnt Boot community. The feuding families, the Brennans and Gallighers, want Gladys' ranch which along with its water rights sits between them. Gladys is willing her spread to Jill when she dies so both feuding factions now treat her as a prize to win or a bone to fight over. Jill isn't sure which, but thank goodness for Sawyer who stands on the shaky, volatile neutral ground beside her.

I am really getting a kick out of these flirty, feisty, contemporary cowboy romances set in small town ranch country of Texas. This is the second book and in a pinch it can be read as a standalone, but I think the reader would enjoy it a sight more if the books were read in order. The overarcing theme of 'The Feud' and scenes with characters that carry over from the first book would make more sense, but admittedly the immediate romance and story of Sawyer and Jill would be okay on its own. I had a good time with their story and enjoy the author's humor-laced meandering, down home style of writing. It can get silly especially some of the feud scenes, but it also draws me into the story so that I'm disappointed to leave when the last page shows up. Now, I'm eager for the next O'Donnell cousin that is coming to town, the wild cowboy, Rhett.

So, as I said, this one kicks off with the arrival of Jill right behind Sawyer's almost new arrival on Gladys' ranch. They don't even get a chance to sort out ranch responsibilities when Jill's other aunt, Polly Cleary breaks her leg and has to go through surgery and is laid up. Gladys must care for her so that leaves Sawyer and Jill juggling the ranch responsibilities, Gladys' store and Polly's bar. They soon figure out there is safety in numbers when they are individually accosted by members of the two feuding families that plan to win Sawyer and Jill into their respective camps. Sawyer is fought over by Betsy Galligher and Kinsey Brennan and Jill gets equal attention from Tyrell Galligher and Quaid Brennan. Meanwhile, the two families stir up their feud to dangerous levels as livestock is stolen, fights, and a kidnapping result. Sawyer and Jill have their reasons for not diving into a relationship, but they are thrown together as allies, then friends, and finally start to feel the draw of love even if both shy away from it. Not that the feud and the hard work they must do gives them much time to do anything about it.

My thoughts on this one were all good. It meanders a bit and ends abruptly while I was thinking there was more to tell- maybe in the next book. I confess that the feuders drive me nearly to insanity with their antics, but I still had a good time. Sawyer and Jill were a good match. They fight it a bit with their own reasons for not thinking a relationship is a good idea, but their scenes together are warm, fun and even passionate. The backdrop of the ranch area/small town feel was almost like a character of its own. It was fun to have the three old ladies present and nice to pop in with Finn and Callie with the kids from book one.

These are like my curl up and relax books that put a smile on my face. I recommend the series and author to Contemporary Romance fans who love their cowboys and modern western settings, who appreciate humor in dialogue and scenes and who like their romance nearer the sweeter end of the spectrum though the passion is there.

*** I received an ARC from Sourcebooks Casablanca through NetGalley for an honest review. Expected publication date: 1/6/15 ***

From the opening sentence this book had me smiling and kept me smiling throughout the entire book. It is filled with fun, humorous, crazy and at time a little over the top moments but very little angst created by the HEA couple and it was a true breath of fresh air for me. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author so I’m not sure if this is her MO but I loved the fact that Jill and Sawyer, while attracted to each other didn’t fall in insta-love and became friends first. It was was great to see them getting to know each other and then see how they handled things once they realized they may just love each other and on top of that I just really liked both of them. They’re both quick witted, hard working and just all around good people who are straight shooters and don’t play games. Not that they really could since they found themselves tossed immediately into the middle of the feud between the Gallagher’s and Brennan’s. Bottom line those families are crazy, but they definitely kept not only Jill and Sawyer on their toes, but me as well as I waited to see just what they would do next in the pig war. I loved Gladys, Polly, Verdie, Finn, Callie and all the other inhabitants of Burnt Boot and the outlying areas, each character was well written and only served to add to fun of the book whenever they appeared. There was one moment in the book that had me scratching my head in confusion as to how it fit in because I couldn’t figure out where the miscommunication stemmed from, but other than that, I simply enjoyed this story and will be looking into reading more from this author. So if you’re looking for a sweet, funny, good time, filled with heart and interesting (crazy) characters, then this is the book for you.

Brown had me laughing and fully engaged in the story from the get-go. Brown’s light-hearted writing style paints a vivid picture of this corner of Texas, inviting readers into an unforgettable story. She takes everyday life and shows you people how they really are. This fantastic tale kept me in stitches throughout, all the while I was falling further and further in love with this world and the characters that Brown introduces us to.

I fell in love with the heroine on the first page of this novel. Her antics and temper definitely kept everyone on their toes, and made her the perfect match for the unforgettable hero of the tale. Getting to know them as they were getting to know each other, all the while being pawns in the feud surrounding them gave some very interesting insights into who they are and how they see themselves. I also enjoyed the supporting cast of this tale. Brown develops those surrounding them in some very unique yet revealing ways. The dialogue in this novel was fantastic. The local drawl and speech patterns really shine through. It also serves to heighten the volatile dynamics between the various characters.

All together, this was an absolutely unforgettable novel that I couldn’t put down. It’s a must read for lovers of western romances, either as a standalone or as part of Brown’s amazing series. This is one author who will definitely make your day with her fantastic tales.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested. The story has laughs, crazy family feuds, kidnapping, and sweet romance.

This is Jill and Sawyer’s story. Jill has come to help out her Aunt on Fiddle Creek Ranch but being located in between the two feuding families is making life difficult. Sawyer is working on the ranch when Jill shows up. Now they have to share the bunkhouse and all the work. After their Aunt’s friend gets hurt they are running the ranch, the food store, and the bar. As they share the work they learn if they stick together and act as a couple the feuding families might just leave them alone. Or will that make them work even harder to pull both Jill and Sawyer into the mess? After being kidnapped by one family only to be kidnapped from the kidnappers by the other family things really start heating up. Will they both come out alive and whole? Or will the feud ruin anything they might have wanted to have?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

The second book in the series and it took a little while to get into this one. Lots is packed into it, however at times it did feel a bit much.

The Brennan's and Gallagher's are still feuding and Sawyer has come to town (Finn's cousin). Sawyer is working on Glady's farm however Jill has come home in order to help Gladys.

Sharing not only the work on the farm, but work in Lilly's bar and Gladys's shop after Polly has an accident, moves them from Winehouse mates, to spending practically 24 hours with each other.

Both Brennan's and the Gallagher's attempt to get the fresh blood in their hands, especially Jill as she will inherit Gladys's farm.

The relationship keeps on a sinner for a while until finally they get together and share intimate space as often as they can.

We are also told of another cousin, Rhett, who will be coming down to Burnt Boot. We are also told that Declan Brennan will also get a HEA.

Jill Cleary has gone back to her Aunts ranch to work, and now two families that have been feuding since forever are after her hand in marriage. Really all they want is the water rights that sits on her property that everyone knows she will inherit. The two families Brennan, and Gallagher, and so far they will go to any lengths to get it. The problem is that she does not like either one her eyes are set on Sawyer O’Donnell who has been hired by her aunts to help during the summer. Working together and sharing a bunk house they get to know one another and as the feuding continues they come up with a plan to avoid her having to go to the other ranches. This also means that they spend more time together, and when her aunt Polly breaks her ankle they are now working the ranch, the store and the bar. Being together is what they are really doing, but will the other one tell the other one how they really feel. Read the story to find out. Plenty of fighting, drinking, and just a fun story. A good book. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

I know that I can never go wrong when I read on of Carolyn Brown's books! This is the second book in The Burnt Boot Series. I absolutely loved it! Sawyer and Jill had the fun, exciting and incredible connection that made their love story amazing. As with all Carolyn's books, this one was filled with so much laughter and down home good country feuding, love and fun!

Someday Jill Cleary will inherit her aunt Gladys Fiddle Creek Ranch. Gladys is getting way up there in years (eighty plus) so Jill came back to help run the ranch. Sawyer O'Donnell was also hired as the foreman to help out. Both will be living in the bunkhouse. Fiddle Creek Ranch is bordered by the Brennan's ranch on one side and the Gallagher ranch on the other side. Both of them would like Fiddle Creek for their own. They each figured if Jill could be wooed then it would be theirs. Quaid Brennan and Tyrell Gallagher each try to outdo the other in sweeping Jill off her feet. But Jill could care less about either of them. She has eyes for her roommate Sawyer.

Betsy Gallagher and Kinsey Brennan think if they one of them could win over Sawyer that would leave Jill open to either Quaid or Tyrell. These two families have a real Hatfield-McCoy feud going on and it has been known to get very nasty.

The characters are so real and down to earth. Think of Gladys as Granny on the Beverly Hillbilies. She does keep things interesting. I hope I have given you just enough so you will want to read this book. Once you start you can't stop until you find out how things turn out. I enjoyed every minute of this book and was sad for it to end.

This is book two of the Burnt Boot, Texas series but it can be read as a standalone.

Great book 2 of a cowboy romance series

Sawyer is in Burnt Boot, Texas, and working on Jill's aunt's ranch as foreman. Neither realize that they would be sharing the bunkhouse. Neither did they know that they would be targeted by the males and females of two feuding families. They decided to watch each other's back. But when the feud starts heating up even more, can they really protect each other or will they be drawn into the feud? See what they do to handle the members of each feuding family!

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has some steamy scenes but no details. The characters are vivid and engaging. Read the books in the series in order to really get the full effect. Book one has also been reprinted and is called Holidays in the Ranch. It doesn't mention the rest of the series, but I really hoped that Sawyer would get his own story!

Sawyer O'Donnell and Jillian Cleary helped Aunt Gladys Cleary on her ranch Fiddle Creek while a 100+ year feud between the Brennans and the Gallaghers raged. Jill's Aunt Polly ran the local bar and Aunt Gladys ran the local store. When Aunt Polly broke her ankle, Sawyer and Jill helped with the bar and store in addition to the ranch. The feuding families stole pigs, cattle, burned a hen house setting the chickens fleeing to the trees, and plotted kidnapping Jill after attempts to court her failed. Can anything end the feud and the constant fighting between the 2 families?

I liked this novel, the second in the Burnt Boot, Texas series by Carolyn Brown, better than the first book in the series. The pace of the plot was faster, and the characters were more developed. I liked the humorous situations Sawyer and Jill got themselves into with the Brennans and the Gallaghers, who were two feuding families--and there is another family that manages to cause trouble for them too. I am ready to read the next two books in the series to see if the feud is ever resolved.

The Brennan vs. Gallagher feud has caught fire. A pretty redhead arrives, the heir to Fiddle Creek Ranch, and meets the new foreman, Sawyer O'Donnell. They begin a tentative friendship. When they are thrust into managing two businesses along with the ranch, they end up in the middle of the feud. Luckily, Jill and Sawyer are young and smart. They manage to keep ahead of the feuding families, the businesses, and their families, who are curious about their new romance.

One of the first things this cowboy does after meeting the gal is give her a foot massage. This is after his first encounter with her where she was holding the end of a shot gun pointed straight at him, yelling to get off the property. To make this truly a cowboy of any women's dream, he cooks! And listens to you talk about your day! Overall a quick read that would satisfy a generic romantic cowboy craving

the Trouble with Texas Cowboys by.Carolyn Brown

This novel would have been perfect if the heroine didn’t have such a horrible potty mouth. She sounded like such a darling girl until she opened nearly every sentence with the S word. Ms. Brown still is one of my favorite romance writers who seems to set the world right with her down to earth stories. Reviewed by Heide Katros, Winter Haven News, Florida

After reading The Strawberry Hearts Diner, I think I expected this to be... I don't know, both sweeter and smarter. The characters were childish and vengeful, and the plot was so thin that I got bored very quickly. It just felt like I was stuck reading the same sentence over and over about a group of rowdy children. Two stars for comfort reading.

This book was amazing and I loved it. I think their fud is recluse but that's just me. Fighting over something that they cant have. Then the grants are also turning away from there grandchildren as well because they don't want to run the farms they have because they just want it to end even though they aren't welcome in their own homes.

Trouble with Texas Cowbows

Great story. Good characters and not like Finn and Called story. Assimilated the two families just enough. Romance was great but not photographic. A fun story. Like to hear about Rhett and can not wait to continue reading. Like the style of writing and appreciate an easy read.T

I really liked this romance between Jill and Sawyer. I liked all the characters and the plot of this book. Pig wars indeed!! I was laughing out loud! I would have enjoyed the bad boys getting their comeuppance for doing what they did to Jill and Sawyer though. Looking forward to reading more from this series.

This was supposed to be my keep in the car for appointments book. Alas once I started reading I cold not put it down. Poor Jill Cleary and Sawyer O'Donnell wound up on Fiddle Creek Ranch in the middle of a feud that would put the Hatfield's and Mckoy's to shame.

During these depressing times of Covid-19, I find I am turning more and more often to humorous books. Carolyn Brown never disappoints, and so I have read a lot of her books in the past year. this one is great! I'm about to start the next one in this series!
