I received an arc of Ferocity and i've literally just finished it. My heart is broken. First off, this is only a short novella that's part of the Heart of Stone series. You NEED to read these first. My all time favourite book couple Mason and Ava Fox are back!! I was so excited to read this book. It starts with Mr and Mrs Fox coming back to the UK and it's not long before the sh*t hits the fan. First we see Ava in protective momma mode, then when the unthinkable happens to a member of her 'family' she wants revenge, and she wants it now. No one will stand in her way, not even Mason. Now i have very complex feelings about Ava Fox but the older she gets, the more i love her. She is out for blood, and as usual Mason won't let her self destruct. This book ripped me to pieces. I knew something bad happened but it completely threw me when i saw who it happened to. This book, as always with D H Sidebottoms books is an emotional rollercoaster. Just when you think it's all going to all be ok, Ms Sidebottom delivers the shock of a lifetime. I laughed, cried, screamed, cried some more, screamed some more, then threw my kindle at the wall, still crying. It's soo good to have the Foxes back in town, and they're still as hot together, i'm just hoping and praying there's more to come soon. Another 5*+ read from a fantastic author, even if she has left me heart broken and in shock!

I received an ARC of Ferocity in exchange for an honest review...here goes nothing!!!
you haven’t read the Heart of Stone series by the amazing DH Sidebottom, believe me, you won’t regret one second of it! It is by far, my favorite series ever, and has everything you could want in a book…hot as hell sex, murder, undying love, and heart breaking drama.
Oh my heck, I’m completely gutted from this book. I’m an absolute emotional wreck, and I’m sitting here staring at my kindle wondering if I’ve read the last page wrong. This has to be a mistake…right? We’ve come to live through some chaotic drama involving our beloved Fox’s, but this takes the cake for sure!
Through the years, Ava and Mason Fox have endured threat after threat, but what do you do when it’s finally hit home in a major way? Well they do what they do best; fight back with an extreme vengeance of course! Just when you think they’re going to break, they find that powerful will to survive, and continue to conquer their demons.
This has to be the mother of all cliffhangers, and I’m biting my nails and having a panic attack, knowing I have to sit here and stew about what’s going to happen next. Beyond heart wrenching, and I’m definitely in book hangover mode!

I honestly don't know where to start.
As I sit here, having just finished Ferocity, the tears still streaming down my face, I want more but at the same time, I am so scared!
If you haven't read the Heart Of Stone series yet (in conjunction with the NCS series) don't start with this book. They need to be read in order and it's a wholly consuming, heart wrenching investment - so worth it!
I've always been a massive Mason fan. Who wouldn't love this super hot, dominant alpha, who knows exactly which buttons to push...and I've loved him faults and all.
I was worried that he'd lost his spark when I started Ferocity but true to form, he couldn't hold it in for long.
Now Ava...hmmm...I have a love/hate relationship with Ava. To begin with, I hated her but as the series has progressed I've come to respect her and love her feisty, no nonsense bad arse! She does not disappoint here....she is in full blown "take no shit" mode. So much so that she even takes on her formidable husband!
I don't want to give anything away but this novella is filled with everything I've come to expect and love from a D H Sidebottom novel...family, loyalty, the intense passion and chemistry between Mason and Ava (including some panty wetting sex) and has set the scene perfectly for the next book in the series.
I've laughed, cringed, "whooped" and definitely cried sobbing ugly tears while reading this absolutely brilliant book and what a way to end...!
What more can I say besides thank you for sharing your brilliant, filthy imagination with me and I NEED MORE! Get writing D H Sidebottom!

Wow. Ok, so I just finished this tonight and part of me was like maybe you should calm down before you write this review. Why, you ask? Because I am spitting freaking mad. As usual though, Dawn's writing is fabulous and the story gripped me from page one, and because I am in love with Mason Fox.
Mason and Ava Fox are an extremely effed up couple and it is good to see that nothing has changed in twenty years. They are still going at it like rabbits and Ava is still an absolute nut job. Oh, I honestly just cannot get enough of these books.
This novella is a total MIND FUCK. Do not think you know what will happen because you wont. I literally do not want to write anything else for fear I will give something away. You must read this if you have read the other Heart of Stone books. Oh, and that ending. Dawn I am literally seething with you. I still loved it. Apparently, I am a glutton for punishment.

OMFG I can't believe the end in this novella!!! I can't wait for the next one, Dawn is such a good author I love all of her books, please Dawn hurry with the next one ha ha.

It has been 2 years since George left home and since then he has not maintained contact with his parents and has been living under the care of Nate. So when Nate calls the Fox’s telling them that George is in the hospital after having used drugs.. And when Ava arrives and sees Debora( Rebeca’s daughter) who says that she is in love with his son, all the wounds and fears of the past they surface.
“She was so much like her mother, her beauty available to her like a weapon and if I was honest, that’s what frightened me. Rebecca had cursed my life, she had once had Mason in the palm of her hand, and to watch that happen again was like physical torture.”
Greg informs Mason that the drugs George has taken come from an unscrupulous gang, that he infiltrated their ranks but has been discovered and has now a mark in his back, that he will dead at the end of the week, Mason breaks down.
“I just wanted us to be happy, Ava. That’s all I ever wanted.”“I know, Mason. And we are. You’re my life. You gave me a life that I love, that I fucking breathe for. Your love feeds me and keeps me living, baby. I’m nothing without you.”“Don’t let me kill you too, baby. Promise me Ava, promise me you won’t ever die and leave me.”“You know I can never promise that Mason, but I can promise that I’ll do whatever it takes to stay here with you.”
At the end of book Mason’s worst fears will come true.
Just when I was starting to get my hopes up, Kade and his wife Grace are thinking of going to Portugal to live with the Fox’s.
“Kade came to visit.””A little birdie tells me he’s been looking at hospitals for nursing jobs in Portugal.”“Mason, I’m not condoning it. If anything I’m all for encouraging it. Like it or not, Kade means a lot to Ava . . . to you too and if that works for you all, then that’s all that matters.”“And Grace; how is she about it all?”“As I told Ava, so are you and her, and once the fire hits the belly, friends or not, the body will push out the doubts.”
Seeing how ended this book, to read the next one I will need an entire package of Kleenex and a bottle of wine. The worst battle is yet to come for Ava Little Warrior and Mason Glorious Bastard.

Holy hell
Bliming heck this book!!!!!
It might only be a short book but jeez it didn't half pack a punch.
It was jam packed i didnt know if i wanted to cry, laugh or hurt someone.
This family and im talking the whole extended family, have wormed their way so deep into my heart it's unreal and unnatural but I don't care.
I bloody love them all.
Will things ever go right for the Fox family?
What else could possibly go so terribly wrong????
And that ending 😳😳😳
I need more, more and so much more.

Oh my!!! After much teasing by DH Sidebottom as to where this next chapter in the Heart of Stone Series would possibly take us, a teaser inviting you to a funeral as guests of Ava and Mason amongst them. I entered Ferocity in trepidation and it seems I was wise to do so. This is a great short read filled with so many twists and turns that I have whiplash. One page with have you scared, the next will have you relieved just for the next to once again have you scared.
Mason and Ava are back in town but this is not a pleasant social visit. Someone is hurt, others are going to get hurt, some you will want to be hurt. Mason and Ava and their reltionship are once again put to the test and as always Ava is in no mood for messing around with people that cross her family and extended family. And as always Mason steps up to protect ALL his family. And as always despite the mayhem our favourite couple find release in hot hot sex.
Brilliantly written to keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat with shock after shock and an absolute shocker that had me crying even more than the rest of the book did. So grab the tissues and prepare yourself because as always DH Sidebottom is going to grab your heart and take it on a roller coaster ride.

Every time I read another Heart Of Stone Novel/Novella I think - wow this is the best 1 yet, and yet again D H Sidebottom has delivered.
This was another explosive action packed adventure with my favorite couple Mason and Ava Fox.
I love the Fox's and "The Family" Mason and Ava never cease to amaze me, I was gripped and have been left wanting more from my Fave couple.
During her 20 year marriage to that glorious bastard, Mason she has certainly been through hell and come out the other side fighting, yet Ava will let nothing stand in her way when it comes to protecting her beloved family. Mason definitely created a monster with his wife because she can get tough, heartless and downright ruthless when something or someone tries to get in her way.
Just how many battles will Ava have to fight or overcome before she is finally left broken for the last time, and will that glorious bastard always be there to save his little warrior.
Another gritty emotionally packed 5* read from the Phenomenal D H Sidebottom

Something has happened to their family and Mason and Ava must mount an attack for revenge. Needless to say, there is also another layer of drama that will be coming in the final book.

The plot really bothered me: Overall, several holes in the story that contributed to my rating.

Mason and Ava are back and OMG what a welcome back it was ... yes it's only a small novella but still had you again at the edge of your seat...it had it all...tears.... shock.... you know everything Mason and Ava, DHS doing what she does best with these two characters...

This is a very short novella to read after re previous Heart of Stone series. But it packs all the usual and expected punches of emotions as we'd expect from D H Sidebottom. Violence, steamy off the charts sex scenes and a loving but dysfunctional family
Ava and Mason return to the UK not for the pleasant reasons you'd hope for. The last rears it's head, emotions run high and to add insult to injury one of their 'family' is taken. Ava does not take well to her family being attacked so she goes all out for revenge with full ferocity. True to form Mason will not let his warrior self destruct but can he save her in time, keep his family safe and beat the one thing he has no control over?

I normally think novellas as a bit pointless. It kind of is like the special features on DVD's, you know the section with the scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor? Yeah, they're there for a reason. Even with the series that I love, majority of the time that's how I feel and unfortunately makes me think of cash hungry authors...I still read them, but I tend to wait for the book to be at a low price or borrow it instead of paying for a price that I consider expensive for 50-100 pgs.
This was definitely not one of those novellas. I really enjoyed Ferocity. This was a novella that had so much story to it that it felt like it could be a 300 pg book.

Wow just wow....Dawn does it again.
This novella features our fave couple Mason & Ava ...a continuation of their story and what a story.
An action packed fest of hot sex....complete devastation....revenge and much more.
I have to say that how Dawn manages to write what always seems like a complete novel in fewer words is a testament to her skill as an author and I applaud her and love her for that.
BUT that being said how could you?

WOW I really Dont know how to review this book with out spoilers but if ur a big HOS fan and you love Mason and Ava you do not wont to miss out on reading this book its heartbreaking AVA at her best and KICKS ASS and hot hot sex again i totally love mason and ava but.... my heart is now breaking and cant wait for the next book in this series DH sidebottom has totally delivered again and boy what a book this is is full of emotions with mason and ava and the gang

Omg, This book drove me insane!! This book which is a mini novella, had me turning page after page,it was so intense! I love the Foxes, and sure that everyone who reads them will fall in love with them too!
In this novella you see Ava fighting for her friends and family, her way! .But the ending had me in tears that it left me hung over for days!!
Looking forward to Fortitude, the final book!

The latest in her HOS series.. For a short novel I still give it 10+++ stars. I'm bias because this is one of my favorite series....I love it that Ava and Mason are back..... The reason that brings them back is sad. As always Dawn grabs you from the first page... It's just amazing . I'm not saying anything to you except I bawled a few time like a big baby!! You have to read to read the wonderful, amazing, outstanding and memorable series Now go one click it!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Dawn you never cease to amaze me. This series just gets better, I'm so engrossed with the family and am ripped apart emotionally with each one.
For such a short novella to have such an impact, well your writing speaks for itself.
I'm going to be an emotional wreck (again) if this next novel "Fortitude" goes the way I suspect, then again I should learn not to try and predict anything with you, as I never see what's actually coming! Just brilliant

omg I am at a loss for words...this book has sent me over the edge. I never expected this ending. dawn you rock.this series has me addicted to the point I went bipolar on everyone in my house just so I could finish this book. my heart is hurting for these 2 but I know they will get through this...

Omg dawn has done it again she will never seize to amaze me that woman talking about smack bang and right there from the beginning it tore at my heart I love mason and Ava I have read all the HOS series and will never get tired of reading mason and Ava she has a way all the time of bringing them to life she is an amazing author and I would highly recommend her books to anyone she rocks my world.

Brilliant as always, these books are one of , if not the best series of books I have read, they have everything, but the basis is the amazing love story of mason and Ava, I feel like I love the characters in this book, the way Dawn makes you feel for every single one of them with her writing is just amazing! This one has been left on a bombshell and i cannot wait for the next installment!

Well hell where to start with my review...........
The Fierceness of emotions in this book completely broke......I felt as though i was on the worlds longest and most terrifying rollercoaster ride whilst reading this book. There were so many twists and turns, highs and lows and just when you think it's all settling down BOOM you hit another major twist !!!

The family as a whole is shattered into a million pieces with devastating effect
Then the ending !!!!! The ending!!!!!! Dh sidebottom is very lucky there is another book out to answer this question!!

Then the ending !!!!! The ending!!!!!! Dh sidebottom is very lucky there is another book out to answer this question!!

D H Sidebottom has done it again!! Another amazing book! This book left me in a state of shock and a crying mess!.. the fox's are back in town.. get your tissues ready your in for a emotional roller coaster!!

What can I say another 5 star book from Dawn !!! Loved loved loved it!! It always feels like coming home when i read a new Heart of Stone novel and this one didn't disappoint me!! It was fantastic as they all are!!! Mason and Ava never get old !!!!

More Mason and Ava thank you Dawn. My heart breaks for Ava over George, just when you think nothing else can happen to their family it does in the most shocking way. What an ending, now that's what you you call a CLIFFHANGER ending!!!

What can I say this is my favourite series!!! The characters all bring something to this series!!!! I have a crush on Nate he's my favourite of all the characters but in saying that I think all of the characters are special unique in there own right!!! Must read series!!!!
