Manipulated: book 1

Rate this book
Billionaire philanthropist and hedge fund manager Oren Ferber is responsible for the “Flash Crash,” a financial tsunami that washed over Wall Street and swept away countless fortunes. He and his seductive and manipulative protégé, Jenny DeBeaux, interfere in the SEC investigation by infiltrating and corrupting the team looking for criminal activity. The small team of investigators is led by attorney Ian McRae. He is joined by profiler, psychologist, sexy and kinky Candice Alexander and brilliant physicist Max Feyman.

The novel is divided into four novellas. In the first one we’re introduced to the main players, their erotic shenanigans and the complex plot. It’s a fast-paced story with lots of sex and intrigue, interesting characters, and a realistic and believable storyline.

A story of greed, conspiracy, deception and sex - this first segment is a terrific start to an intriguing tale. Ian is investigating a mysterious fall and rise of the stock market known as the Flash Crash. He is smitten with a Wall Street investor named Jenny. Jenny is working for a company that has a keen interest in this investigation and her motives for the relationship is certainly not romance. Meanwhile Candice and Max, who are also investigating have their own tangled web to unravel.

This book is not a complete story but is enough to be a satisfying read that will leave the reader wanting more. I did find a couple of minor edits that appeared to be typos but not enough to be a distraction. The author's knowledge of Wall Street, the financial world and New York City is evident in the detailed passages on these topics. If you like hot sex with your story, you won't be disappointed as those passages are just as descriptive and very steamy. They will get you aroused and bothered. An excellent book that will leave you anxious for the next segment.

** I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

Wow, where to start. 'Manipulated' has a lot going on, but in a good way. I liked the story line. It was full of action, whether in a boardroom, an office or the bedroom, it sure kept the story flowing. The characters are a great combination of people that are intertwined one way or another. The erotic scenes were very hot and steamy. Holy hotness. Well written. Well thought out. Definitely a series I will read. A great add to your tbr list.
